I'm a PTA and I tell everyone of my patients to go low/no "sugar". I explain that anything that does not come from an animal is "sugar". I refer so many of them to this and similar channels. Some get the message.
I am a 76-year-old oral and maxillofacial surgeon. Dr West has focused on the cause of many chronic and acute diseases from metabolic health. Dr West should be considered a brave pioneer in the field of functional medicine. I pray for allopatric physicians to learn from this exceptional healer. Everyone should listen to this video and learn. Thank you Dr West.
Dr. West was so enjoyable and informative! I'm a 73 year old woman who loves to walk but this interview inspired me to move even more. Thank you so much.
Horses with orthopedic problems often have "equine metabolic syndrome" with a high insulin level. Founder is the traditional term for equine metabolic syndrome. In orthopedics we are now seeing that a musculoskeletal complaint may be the first symptom (not sign) of metabolic syndrome.
Yes. It was almost impossible to get barn management and trainers on board with a low sugar diet. When I had control at home, my mares whole body changed ( put on muscle and lost her eternal hay belly). She finally became less food obsessed and was more easily satiated. Her feet stopped being chronically inflamed ( hoof rings). Yet, in boarding situations they would sneak her on sugary young grass etc... Because I saw how insidious yet treatable her issues were, it was easy to commit to low carb myself. Too bad the narrative is often the opposite of health.
I've been diagnosed with severe knee arthritis and have consulted with several surgeons to see if I'm a candidate for knee replacement surgery. Over the past six months I've lost about 50 pounds with the carnivore diet and reduced pain and inflammation about 70%. The only issue I have is when I walk I experience back strain because I cannot fully extend my knees. I walk in a stooped over position. Other than that, I'm doing wonderfully well health wise as a result of my weight loss.
I’ve been toying with my health. T2D very high BP etc. stopped drinking alcohol two years ago but still eating gluten and sweets. 3 weeks ago had crippling joint pain ALL OVER my body. 2 weeks on carnivore and pain is gone. Miracle.
I wish I could clone Dr. West. 4months carnivore- down 30 lbs but still so much sciatica and back pain. How do you “keep moving” when you’re in so much pain?
Next month I will be 69. I have deteriorated joints, a totally collapsed vertebrae and I exercise and do floor work. I can deadlift over a 100 pounds and that exercise and low carb. Mostly carnivore is what keeps me going. My only medication is thyroid. Definitely- I have stenosis... the right exercise is therapeutic... oh yeah, I'm a lic.p.t. over 30 yrs... thx you guys
