@@TheZackBriggs I mean yeah the musical element is lame af, but this movie just shouldnt have been made. I can think of at least 10 solid elseworlds choices that wouldve been better than a Joker sequel. The only reason this is happening is because how much the first movie made.
Making a Joker 2 is like making an Inception 2 or an Intetstellar 2! It doesnt make sense. Joker 2019 was a stand alone masterpiece. Its an universe we dont need to spend too much time in. But, maybe Im wrong! I hope I am wrong.
@@animefan2454 Fo sho. I wouldnt want to criticize something I havent seen. I just think this sequel shouldnt have been made. If they want to do elseworlds projects how about Gotham by Gaslight, Red Son, Batfleck solo, Val Zod, etc. The motivation for this film was purely to be a bag grabber.
@@curly50POWhe was an actor and Joaquin Phoenix’s older brother. He died of an overdose on Halloween 1993 outside of a famous LA night club called The Viper Room. He passed away in Joaquin’s arms.
Remember peeps. Marketing companies are wizards at making garbage look like treasure. Just saying. I hope I'm wrong because I thoroughly enjoyed the first one.
I thought Harley Quinn was meant to be his psychiatrist? … Unless she is doing so by tricking him to thinking she’s crazy, before *actually* becoming crazy 😅 That’d be some cinematic cake.
Did you know that feeling when you are watching trainers of movies and you are already know what going to be perfect well that gonna be masterpiece performance of joker 🃏😁🤗
They really grooming this joker, I love the build up, and evolvement of this joker. This might be the greatest jokers out of all the actors who played the role in my opinion
I think the nervousness and anxiety a lot of fans are expressing in this comment sections suggests that at the very least this will have a groundswell of interest and a powerful first week. Although the budget "got a raise" from the first film's 70 million to 210 million it's still cheap by big budget standards. So will will make a profit. I have a lot of faith in the performers and some insecurity about the director (his films are all over the place in terms of quality). Although, I'm probably not a very reliable critic since for a long time I confused Todd Phillips with Todd Haynes. (Like, Joker kinda seemed like a Todd Haynes film!)
It looks as disturbing as the first one. Great acting by Phoenix. Anyone who thinks this craziness is beautiful - needs some mental help, in my opinion.
First movie was very good. I expect that the sequel will be good too. On the other hand, Joker movies are barely inside DCU, more like character-focused dramas. The mental breakdown and recovery of a psychopath. It is not a story of a crime boss reaching to the top, making evil plans for Gotham and fights against Batman.
Imagine if Joaquin Phoenix’s Joker & Lady Gaga’s Harley Quinn appears in Robert Pattison’s The Batman Part 2. That would’ve been an amazing crossover. I wonder if Bradley Cooper is coming back to produce Joker 2 (since he also directed the first film). This would be the 2nd time he works with Lady Gaga after directing, writing, producing & starting in A Star Is Born (also distributed by Warner Bros Pictures)
I kind of feel that they had a script for something else and decided to attach “The Joker” to it. Remember, the Joker is a psychopathic criminal. He’s not a dancer, he’s not an emo. In many of his schemes, he was trying to poison or blow up Gotham citizens. He had Superman accidentally kill pregnant Lois just to see Superman become a dictator. He beat Robin to death just for kicks. He shot Batgirl in the back and left her paralyzed. Let’s not forget who the Joker is.
I'll be honest I'm excited and worried at the same time it feels different but that's a good thing taking it to the musical movie routes🤔 Hope for the best.
Am I the only one that feels like they're repeating beats from 1st movie? Seems like we're really diving deeper into Arthur's head. This could be trippy.
any man with more than 1ug of testosterone in his blood cannot go watch this garbage, especially after the masterpiece that we saw in Dune. This is basically Barbie but for goth girls
The only thing that bothers me about this version of the Joker is that he seemingly lacks the intellect that he does in all the other movies/series/comics
Unpopular opinion: I hope this movie doesn’t try to “fix” this relationship. I know the point of these types of movies are to try and get us to sympathize with otherwise evil characters, and they can definitely still do that, but sometimes it’s fun to watch assholes be assholes. Lol. As a longtime fan of DC I think it’s only right that they keep the same level of toxicity in this relationship as there always has been. Yes, that includes to domestic violence. I was really hoping they’d keep the original idea of psychologist/ patient relationship turned sour- but it looks like they’ve abandoned that. I always preferred the versions where Harley’s the helpless/ desperate romantic and Joker is the jerk stringing her along, and truly is a sociopath who feels no emotional connection with her. I may sound sadistic lol, I just find these extremely complex character traits to be so much more compelling to dive into. And I think they’ve got a real opportunity here with their last Joker film being more realistic and centered on the psychological illness’s that drive the Joker. While at the same-time being a character that’s a wild card and impossible to fully understand. I was excited to see how this would translate adding in Harley in this film, but so far it’s just looking like it’s going to be a dark romance film………
@@adrianleusink1970I agree 💯 I liked moulin rouge, it was a good mix of acting and singing. I'm hoping that this movie is similar. I don't mind a few musical scenes mixed in. I love Joaquin Phoenix to either way I'm going to watch it.
