It is possible that Jon would have made it withuot Richie in the band. It is possible that Richie would have made it as a solo artist or with another band. But there is no doubt that these two would never have acheived what they have on their own. If there were ever two people that complimented each other perfectly, its these two. When they bring their voices together, it makes angels cry. There is a reason that this band still sells out venues, everywhere they play, anytime they play...
They need each other to get as perfect as they can be...But Richie is a better singer, his voice is great and he is a perfect guitarist... wish to see the guys back together...
they both have amazing voices but i think sambora should get a chance to sing some songs on the new album cos i love his powerful voice.... together though they are brilliant rock on!
Two hugely talented songwriters and musicians. Excellent acoustic version. Good looking chaps too, as I was in 1996, being 1 year younger than Richie Sambora - but I never had their talent nor looked cute. The cuter you look when you're young, the freakier you look when older. Just look at Richie today: slightly scary.
Thanks for uploading. I love these guys too..and together. You can sure see the difference when people are truly friends and are enjoying the music together. No need to compare, there's no competition here. They mutually respect, love and care for each other....and just love making the music for us. Thank Jon and Richie.
The best version of this was the very first time they did it on camera (or at least I think it was the first time on camera, maybe even the first time ever, I'm not sure), at the MTV VMA's around 1989. They did the start of this, and then went into Wanted seamlessly, and it was just magical. Not a huge Bon Jovi fan to be honest, and I don't like this song at all usually. But this acoustic version is something very special. And of course, Jon and Richie are both extremely talented, and both great singer/songwriters, especially when working together. Also, they are one of the most entertaining and tight-as-fuck together live bands you could ever see. Well, when Richie was still in the band of course. Without Sambora, the magic is just gone. You can't just put some session guitarist there and have them play the songs, even if they get the pitch, tone and notes perfectly in sync with what Richie would usually do, there's still something missing. And without his back-up vocals, many of the songs sound way out.
@Baltrick Yes, it's simple. He plays a bar E minor on the 7th fret, bouncing to a D while still barred on E. While barred on E, you lift your other three fingers and keep your index on the 7th, that produces a D augmented chord. It is a bouncing technique that takes a little practice. The rest of the song pretty much runs like the recording but slower. I hope this helps.

well he looks much 💕older at the age of 62 that he is now in 2024. he needs to cut the sides of his hair much shorter and allow the rest to be longer and he is not doing that. He has three young sons all over 20 now and I can't believe none of them are telling him this. I hope he does it soon.💕
RANBIR SADHAR, I'm pretty damn sure the guitar RICHIE is playing is a new version of the'' OVATION'' GLEN CAMPBELL used it exclusively in 90% of his productions,as it has excellent brightness,what freaks me out is that Richie is just as good a singer as jon is
Jon said he thought Richie was💕not that good when he first showed him what he got BUT of course he changed his mind later and had nothin but good things to say bout him not even knowing how the BOTH of them would change the music world and change each other's lives and the band's life as well as their bank accounts💲💲
