Jon is better overall. Let Richie sing Bed of Roses, In these arms, it wont be like Jon. For this specific song definitely Richie voice is more appropiate, but for others may not.
that's right. sad but true. I mean Jon, even if he doesn't sing as good as Sambora and doesn't play the guitar like him, he's the FACE, he's the one that makes them all famous and successful. He has charisma and this thing that you can't explain - the thing that makes people love him, not only as a musician, but also as a man too.
I call Jon 萬人迷,means very charismatic,Jon is 萬人迷。 Richie's music touch me deeply, especially his solo albums❤ Both are great and unique musicians.there is no comparison
Sambora better guitarist - hence he was the lead guitarist. Not better voice than Jon. Sambora was good here, the song fits his voice. Search the net... even when they were young, Sambora's voice breaks man. And wobbles. Hence, Bon Jovi. Not Sambora's band.
@@oldstuff4379 It's Jon's band because he's the one that drives it all and is the most characteristic, not because of his voice. There are thousands of incredible singers out there, better singers than him, but it's not much if you're not the front man type like he is. When it comes to voices it all comes down to preference at the end of the day. If you wanna talk their technic they're both not the best tbh hence both of their voices break on multiple occasions with so many concerts they had and Jon can barely sing any higher notes for years now. But they're not Celine Dion or Whitney Houston, they didn't need to have the perfect technic. Talent, charisma and great voices are usually enough for this genre, on top of fantastic music of course.
Have you seen the version they do on the 1989 MTV music awards? I assume you have, if not its a must see. Its by far the best live version of the song they have done. As good as this is, that version is much, much better in my opinion.
I bought 'Slippery When Wet' as a teen in the 80s and listened to it quite a few times. But it wasn't until years later that I found out whose voice gave me goosebumps and caused my heart to beat faster. It wasn't Jon's... not to mention Richie's incredible guitar work and world class solo!
@@fifi5672 hahaha at least you have now. I've been a massive RS fan since my first BJ concert in 1996. I think I ordered Richie's solo album the next week day after being blown away quite dramatically when he sang Wanted 2nd verse :))
Jon ain't Jon and Richie ain't Richie without each other. Together these guys are amazing. There's a reason they've been friends and bandmates for 30 years...cause' THEY know how good they are together.
all the time. that is WHY a movie was made about back up singers. most famous solo singers were at one time back up singers and yes they did sing better than the singer they were backing up. ain't that a hoot.
What did you expect?? Put a world class song writer/singer on stage with a kick ass guitar player with an outstanding voice in his own rights.....Legends.
Wow wow wow, ritchie is amazing, vocally stunning, my god his voice is just stunning, i got carried away singing my heart out, thats what richie does, he sucks you in, man he is sooooo good. This is talent at its best.
Amazing performance. Jon had an off night, didn't sound as good as he can, but Richie carried his ass through this song. Excellent vocal performance from Richie.
Wish People would stop comparing them. They both bring equal talent to their Music. Bon Jovi wouldn't exist without either of them. Just enjoy the Music and the Talent.
Richie is the strongest singer by far. Jon even breaks a smile as Richie comes in strong and you can hear the crowd noise rise in intensity and anticipation . They both smile In reaction to the crowd and Richie’s better vocals. Still true Ito this day.
@@destroyerofkooda123 Keep dreaming. Mr Bon Jovi sings with a very nasal tone. Not a patch on Mr Sambora who sings with real feeling and passion. Hate to tell you this but he blows Jon away....
@@stephennoble2647 Jon has the better range and the more notable and memorable voice. put both in their primes and Jon clears. this show was in 1996, so Jon has already 10+ years of touring and 6 studio albums singing lead vocals, so no wonder Richie will sound better here. but overall Jon clears. cope harder bozo
@@destroyerofkooda123 It's so weird how some here now just seem to be 'tuning out' Jon's high 'rock' voice, without which there would have been none of this! If you don't have a singer who can belt like that, you're not going to make it as a rock band, however good the rest of you are. As with Plant and Led Zep, or Rodgers and Free.
Approximately 1983 I saw RATT at Starlight Theater in Kansas City. At that time no one ever paid attention to opening artists and often didn't even find their seats until they had finished. The band that opened for RATT that night had the entire venue's attention. They were hands down the best opening band I've ever heard in my 40+ plus years of attending concerts. I was 16 and told my then boyfriend that the next time we saw the opening band they would be the headliners. The name of that band was Bon Jovi.
Vocals just roll our of Richie....I never really gave him that but Jon was the front man so. But man. Richie is one talented dude and now 2021 still can hit the notes, which is likely a result of not having to scream them for so many years. One of the best duos ever.
I have to agree with others who've noticed Sambora's vocals, are much more power powerful. Not complaining at all. Bottom line is,that it's nice to have two powerful lead vocalists who both sound great. Having spent some time listening more to RITCHIE lately, I love, his original music.
RICHIE IS BON JOVIE , WITHOUT RICHIE BON JOVIE IS NOTHING , NOTHING AT ALL !!!!!!!!!! AND JUST LISTEN , RICHIES SINGING COMPLETELY BLOWS JOVIE OFF THE STAGE !!!!!!!!!
Born in the very early 70's and teenage years was fantastic music of the 80's. Now a days every 3rd song on the radio is Taylor Swift and I can hardly wait to get home to hear this!!!!!!!
Eigentlich eines der Lieder von Bon Jovi die mich am meisten inspiriert. Beste Performance mit Elektroakusische Gitarre. Actually one of the songs of Bon Jovi me at most inspires. Best performance with electroacoustics guitar.
Bon Jovi have been my favourite band for years and Richie should be like this more often. They work so well singing together without Richie being restricted to backing.
Richie has such a great voice, considering hes not the singer.and being able to play guitar like he does.his harmonies are just great.and his pitching is fantastic.
both in top form here, but - listen to Stranger in This Town, superb songs, guitar playing, AND singing. Why this album didnt do better, I will never know. Richie in 1991 was truly awesome!!!
I mean - all I can say is that I LOVE this clip. Jon ist good but Richie is AMAZING!!!! That voice...he makes it look sooo easy. And together they sound great. Love ´em. Still. Ever I ´ve been 15 or so...which is a good while ago. Quality endures. :)
