Nice little saw, Dony. Thanks for sharing.

That saw looks like my Poulan chain saw which I got in 2000 and the bar is about that large too. That saw gave me great service and I am going to clean it up and take it to the shop to be repaired. It was working when my new Stihl saw was down and had to be repaired several times.

That's a nice looking saw! I would have guessed it to be newer as well. Guess not!

Hi Don; The Turbo was a great saw and well ahead of it's time. The turbo feature is actually designed to pull clean air from very close to the flywheel and route it up to the air filter. It actually works really well. I remember when the design first came out and it was used on the Poulan Pro's soon after. We were displaying them at the plowing match and we used to fire up the saw and almost cover it in saw dust and run it this way for 30 seconds or so and then pull off the air filter cover. There would always be very little saw dust on the filter.

I found 2 of those in a recycle center. I am disabled but we take our trash to a landfill and recycle center They are pretty rough but they had compression . I have a friend who was in prison for driving while drunk but he never hurt anyone. He learned small engine repair in there . I give them to him and said keep one if you can fix both. If not let me know. I gave them to him a week ago.

I love your tutorials! You are a great instructor. I have a 1997-Jonsered 2054 turbo Am trying to remove the muffler and have removed the 2 obvious bolts. Is there a third bolt? Because I just don’t see it Thanks,, Mere Woman

Nice saw. It does look newer. Do you get many of these with the turbo in the shop? Do you see any common problems with them? Thanks for sharing.

Very good review, as usual:) Interesting turbo feature. I wonder if the flywheel air is ducted in before or after the air filter? Might be a dumb question. Thanks!
@jonas15449
@jonas15449 8 лет назад
Its ducted into the filter since a lot of sawdust collects in the flyweel.

Thanks for the video. What part of Canada are you in? Are the winters bad there. I live in the southern United States and we hardly ever get snow. Would you please show some more repair videos of anything? I just really like watching them. Thanks!

Jonsered is a swedish brand owned by Husqvarna (Husky). They share many parts in their products.

From the manual: Centrifugal cleaning (Turbo) By means of utilising the centrifugal power during the cleaning of the induction air to the carburettor the air filter is guarantied much longer cleaning intervals. By means of the centrifugal power the larger impurities are sorted out since they are thrown out to the periphery of the air shell and out past the cylinder. The air to the carburettor is captured by the ”turbo nozzle” and the finer impurities are effectively absorbed in the air filter.

wonder why wont 2036 turbo fire up anymore? it blew the lower silicone gasket with a hot weather, so i took it apart and put it back together with a replaced carb diagraphm(?) and the small cylinder intake gasket, but now i get no life out of it.... there is spark and it does fly the fuel cloud out of the carb, so dunno what to do.... and my lawn mower is a bit similar.... it just wont start even after i prime it 3-6 times.... simply does not start up.... (b&s classic 35 engine) - does the intake o-ring gasket play any role in that? if i just pull the starter, i think the carb wont blow out any fuel because the spark plug wont even become wet at all.....(i replaced the dia.... on that one too)

Well if its that old and works well it must be a decent design :-)) Shame that modern stuff tends not to last that long :-(

Yes some Jonsereds are interchangeable with the huskys, I have done it in a pinch to get the customer back in business, even though it is the same part, the Husky part will cost a bit more.

Around here, the only place to buy a Jonsered it at Tractor Supply. I looked at the three models they had and to be honest, I wasn't that impressed with them, say compared to a Stihl or even a Husqvarna. But the model in the video seems to work fairly well.

Yeah. Made in Sweden like Husqvarna. Or so the plate states. The more I use a chainsaw, the more I lean toward Sthil for quality, features, parts and ease of maintenace/repair. But I love my Echo blower and straight shaft edger.
@crazyjdkid
@crazyjdkid 10 лет назад
2cyclemix I am pretty much opposite! I much prefer Husqvarna for ease of maintenance and part availability. Both are good saws though!

I didn't know that Jonsered was affiliated with Huskvarna!
@brianwynn5081
@brianwynn5081 9 лет назад
they are not affiliated with any one the are made in a place called Husqvarna in sweden not made by husqvarna which is made in U.S.A
@ALIENdrifter66
@ALIENdrifter66 8 лет назад
Husqvarna a company from Huskvarna and they have different fabrics in china, sweden,usa... and husqvarna bought jonsered and other chainsaw brand a long ago, so yes, this chainsaw was made under Husqvarna rules and most models are compatible, they have minor changes. (The brand name is Husqvarna and the place Huskvarna, it actually was Husqvarna but changed it's name)

approx. 1 1/2 for L and approx. 1 1/4 for H, you may have to tweak it from there
