Professional boxer Joseph Parker is on a 5 fight winning streak, including big wins against Zhilei Zhang and Deontay Wilder during his last two fights. Since he lost against Joe Joyce in September 2022, Joseph Parker has resurrected his boxing career with 5 wins in a row. Parker has remained very active during a day and age where top heavyweight boxers typically only fight once or twice a year, and his two most recent wins were against legit Top 5 contenders in Wilder and Zhang. The key to Joseph Parker's success has been remaining active, and his trainer Andy Lee has also played a key role in his new found success on this 5 fight winning streak.
This episode of Rummy's Corner was written, narrated, and produced by Geoffrey Ciani (aka - Rummy).

What I like about Rummy versus the Talking Heads and Columnists for the entertainment and sports programming network(s), is that he doesn't try to ignore and sweep his past wrong opinions under the rug. He owns and Highlights them, and even uses them to strengthen his current arguments. Thank you Rummy. You have a talent that is refreshing to hear - especially in today's toxic media environment. Joseph Parker, and to an extent, AJ, at the same time, has both proven that it IS possible to bounce back from defeat. All you need is determination, desire, commitment, and, most importantly, activity. I see both men becoming world champions again.

yes and no. Parker under Kevin was pretty basic and was used incorrectly. Parker was trained to fight as if he had 1 punch Ko power (which he doesn't) and that led to him fighting in a style unfitting of his strength. Old parker would have tried to 1 shot wilder and got himself knocked out. New parker is starting to abandon the ko and just start teeing off on his opponent, use his speed and agility to wear his opponent down. Parker is throwing more shots, setting up more combos and trying to box more, this is what led to his resurgence. It was him finally using his strengths and matching it with the appropriate style and game planning

Would be great don't get me wrong but I just think with his activity and his last fights he should be looking above him. If he loses to Zhang then I'd agree but if he beats Zhang he's the interim champ so wouldn't make sense for him to fight anyone that doesn't hold a world title. Or if they relenquish the title to him it will be AJ he'll fight imo. Love Andy and definitely is great but just isn't in that position. Would be a great fight if he loses
@jessicarukuata-joynson938

Like for instance he's 3-1 in the past 4.5 years and parker is 12-1. He hasn't fought in 18 months against a 42 yo Ortiz. Before that was 3 years ago against a 41 year old areola. Not hating but that hardly makes you a target. Also he would need/want to have warmup fights so won't be ready till end of next year at least. Parker looks like he's gonna have one more run and has maybe if all goes well 5ish fights left. I see him fighting Whyte or Joyce before Ruiz they're more active and he'll want to erase the losses. Whereas he already beat Ruiz and as Ruiz has no momentum I literally think he's not even top 10 on the radar. I'd say his top 10 on the radar would be... Zhang,AJ,usyk, fury,agit,dubious,Whyte,Joyce,Filip and huni. Huni will be one he'll want I think maybe not yet but I see that as his last fight to wrap up

Joseph Parker is at the very peak of his career now! More then when he was the WBO world HW champion 2016-2018. He was not universally recognised yet and despite having one of the four major belts, he was not regarded as a major player = something he also was well aware of, or he would never have accepted the unification bout against Joshua. So by defeated back-to-back two elite level HS, with one former WBC world champion in Deontay Wilder and then defeating the WBO Interim HW champion Zhilei Zhang, in two fights the majority of fans and experts picked him to lose (!). I was on the other hand betting on Parker both times as I had the feeling if he fought Wilder in a dog-fight and in the processtook his right hand away he would win = what he also did! Against Zhang would be more difficult, as I knew like evreybody else that a big powerfull south-paw with an iron-chin would be very difficult. But age and gas milage was the answer so if Parker came in great condition and had worked in moving around a lot and fight in short bursts, that could be enough to steal a decision as long he would not be clocked to much. And even as Parker was twice down, his spirit was string and his dtermination combined with the suggested tactics worked (again). So even if I am not a mastermind by far, I'm still glad for my own analyzes of boxers worked. Sure you can't get them all but that is what I like with Parker, he can adapt very well when needed like he prooved TWICE! Why I say Joseph Parker have "peaked" is solely based on that even if I believe he wins the rematch, I like majority doubts with good reasons he can get past either Anthony Joshua in a rematch or Oleksandr Usyk! Arguably he can defeat Tyson Fury, but that would be it unless he decides to go down a paper title holder's road and fight for a possible (hope not though) vacant WBO title and then cherry pick opponents, but that will not gain the fans respect like he have well earned now!
@sly_tendencies87
@sly_tendencies87 3 месяца назад
The thing I dislike most about boxing has got to be how quick fans are to turn on a fighter after just one bad performance. Instead of recognizing everyone has off days or moments where opponents simply outmatch us we instead choose ridicule calling someone names likes 'overrated'. This culture needs changing since double standard exists between what these same followers expect from themselves yet demand perfection uniquely upon athletes whose shoes they can not walk in physically nor mentally alike! This why I appreciate you keeping it a bean, Rummy.

The best thing about Parker's comeback (and entire career) is that he can make his mark in an era or giants. Parkers upper body is small he's tiny in comparison to other heavyweights. But he still manages to compete and win against them (AJ, Whyte, Joyce, Wilder, Zhang). It's truly an underdog story.

The people who have suprised us most in heavyweight this year are both most active top flight heavyweights, I don't think that is a coincidence. We need more boxers to have the number of fights they are having, just like in the past. I think a great example is how of course with a good trainer we are seeing parker develop a unique style, something that was so common in the past even when it was a guy woth 70 wins and 50 loses they would come in with a specific style you have to defeat. Nowadays there are a just a few styles that are prevalent.

I hear he is committed to a Zhang return, which could be tough if Big Bang comes out fast but if he does and does not get lucky I doubt Zhang will make it the full distance! I would now pick Parker to beat AJ and then Usyk after he outpoints Fury (as long as he can actually take a body punch!) As I'm sure you can tell I love Parker! He is a real breath of fresh air in the current boxing world, a talented boxer who is not afraid to take on tough opponents!
