I have admired that man's voice since I was 9 years old in 1981. He might not be able to hit those high notes anymore but he still has a phenomenal voice. He inspired me to be a singer.❤
Steve is on my short list of greatest singers ever. Tied with Otis Redding,David Ruffian,Robert Plant,Freddie Mercury,Sam Cook,Gregg Allman,Teddy Pendergrass Paul Rodgers, Etc. Kids when you have kids expose them to all the great music.My Aunt did it for me thank god.
WOW,Steve u really did put your feelings and soul into this song. Like u do the other ballads that u did. When u was with Journey. I know they really miss u. Anyhow , glad u back. Age doesn't matter and yea U make cant hit them high notes. But you're back. 🙏
I hate to be a critic, but the Frontiers Tour was the beginning of Steve's downfall vocal wise. The constant touring put a tremendous amount of strain on his voice. He sounds good hear because this was the first few shows of the Frontiers Tour in Japan. As this tour went on by it's end in early September of 1983 he voice was going.
@@monroegodette6440 Too me great male vocalist in rock music are becoming rare. Back in the decades from the 60's through the 80's we had a lot of very talented vocalist. Some of my favorites were Steve Perry, Denis DeYoung, Jimmy Jamison, Kevin Cronin, Prince, Joe Elliott and of course Freddie Mercury. I could probably name ten more but I just don't see guys like that in rock music today. There are great vocalist out there but in other types of music mostly.
Steve Perry and Keith Urban are the best. I listened to their music until now it gives me peace of mind, it's so relaxing esp this Still They Ride...Wow
One of my favorite songs...deep, dark, reflective and...rhythmic to the core...a brooding ballad about God only knows what...Yet it is powerful in a soul-stirring way...Bravo, Mr. PERRY...WELL DONE.
I loooove the live recordings of their concerts in Japan, too! But I think my favorite performance was of the Escape Tour in Houston, Texas, in 1981! I have that entire concert on DVD, and I play it all the time.

If you wish to increase your ranking, give the name of the song first, then Journey followed by the year of 1982. Leave out HQ because everybody today claims best resolution...By including either HQ or HD, your song is being sorted with hundreds of thousands of others. Giving the song title first targets all those looking for this certain song , which is immensely popular. You might think that putting the band's name first would increase your ranking...perhaps, but not as likely with such a mega popular band as Journey which is distinguished by the popularity of its individual songs. Try it...within a few months you should have tens of thousands of more views...but definitely be sure to omit the HQ because it is interfering with a more narrow search field which, in the case of Journey due to their mass popularity, will produce more results according to song title.
