Neal Schon and Jonathan Cain did an interview segment on a Television News Magazine Program in 1982. Melody Rogers hosted the show and showed off Neal's new car. This was an excellent piece that gives out some unknown information about the plans of the band at the time. Escape was a catastrophic album that was destined for outer space. Neal Shows off his car and talks about his Guitar collection, Jonathan Cain talks about what it's like to be the newest member of the band and what it was like for him moving to San Francisco. This is a lost gem from the local Los Angeles CBS station, KNXT called "2 On The Town" and was hosted by Melody Rogers.

When I was real young, SF was my favorite place that I wanted to move to. I grew up, and it grew unseemly. Times changed. But I can always remember the way it used to be, with it being a hub of rock n roll talent, and of course the home of Journey in the early days! Great to hear old news clips.

I always enjoy your videos, keep rockin' I guess Jonathan Cain's love affair with San Francisco [ Novato, Ca] ended when he found out the competition for his 3 kids to " get into" the best private schools in the area wasn't working. I believe Jon went sour on SF in 2005 but didn't actually physically move his family to Franklin, Tennessee until 2009.Steve Smith lived in Oregon, and Steve Perry went home to Hanford in 1987, but left for Del Mar, CA in the early 90's. Ross Valory & Neal Schon are the only two who have remained in SF. Thankfully technology allows Schon [ SF], Pineda [ Phillipines], Cain [ Florida], Castronovo [ Oregon], Jensen & Derlata [ LA] to still tour and work together.

Yes, I recognize the audio and this was the first Journey my friend and I recorded, on a Beta recorder, actually, but we only had the second half, because we weren't expecting it and had to throw a tape in there. Watched it over and over and over. So watching this just now, in the second half, my recall brought back word for word, pause by pause, the dialogue. It was like an old song I haven't heard in many years but it was still all there. 😁 I had acquired the entire thing later on VHS, buying it on EBay along with so much other stuff, but almost everything I owned was basically stolen from me a few years ago. I so wish I could have shared it like you are. Thank you so much for your content. 🙏🙏🙏

Good job of syncing and editing the various video clips to go with the audio! Shoot, I didn't even have a VHS player / recorder yet in 1992 myself :-) I'm glad you captured the audio.

Haha, I just realized reading my original post Google typed 1992 instead of 1982 :-) Yes, I did have a VCR before 1992 for sure :-)
