Drummers singing deserve more credit. Compressed diaphragm being seated, being able to hold a note while physically bouncing all over the place has got to be challenging
@@jaykroska3845 Guitar and drums are the easiest to sing and play together for me. Bass is where it gets harder because I’m usually playing something to counter the melody.
I´m a Drummer, and Deen was always one of my North. Since those all times where I used to see the HighPerformance Drumming VHS, Cacophony and Marty´s Friedman albums. And he also Sing like a fucking damm pro singer. Good bless you Deen !!!!!!
Stop comparing them, they're both amazing and they're both in journey, there's no need to compare, just say "I love journey becoz they have Steve, Arnel, and deen.". My Goodness! People!
They did asked him but he declined, Deen was committed to his band that had just did a record and they were gonna go out on tour besides I don't think he wanted to go back to the drama? maybe?
Deceptively difficult song to sing. Been slowing down the speed to get the details of various versions including several of Perry live....turns out this guy right here is by far the best, most natural controlled and precise compared to all other versions.
I miss Steve Perry, but Deen Castronovo is by far the best vocalist that has tried to fill his shoes. The should get Steve Smith back on drums and put Deen in the spotlight
Deen has stated a few times that he does not want to be a frontman and would like to stay behind the drums. It’s true though that he would be the perfect Journey singer next to SP, vocal wise, if he’d even try.
I agree, his the best replacement for steve perry's voice..but come on dude, being a frontman is not only having a spectacular voice..you need also a charisma to audience and vocal stamina..he really respect and amazed what arnel does in the stage..why you guys always looking that is not there, still living in the past and why not appreciate and enjoy the present..
@@chadlong9614 it's quite boring dude , ..no movements in the stage, no audience contact..the fans will miss the frontman having fun with them ..journey doesnt's work that way, it's not their style..maybe in other bands, it will work..
Lying beside you here in the dark Feeling your heartbeat with mine Softly you whisper, you're so sincere How could our love be so blind? We sailed on together and drifted apart And here you are, by my side So now I come to you with open arms Nothing to hide, believe what I say So here I am with open arms Hoping you'll see what your love means to me Open arms Living without you, living alone This empty house seems so cold Wanting to hold you, wanting you near How much I wanted you home But now that you've come back, turned night into day I need you to stay So now I come to you with open arms Nothing to hide, believe what I say So here I am with open arms Hoping you'll see what your love means to me Open arms, oh-oh Oh-oh-oh, oh-oh
Deen is solid drummer and vocalist! As with anything, liking a drummer and their playing style is a personal preference. Deen is a punchy physical drummer. As far as his vocals go, Deen’s style, tone and range are impressive. If you want to see more of Deen’s impressive drumming and vocal talent, check out Neal Schon’s “Journey Through Time” videos.
