@@PeachWNK Yeah, it’s pretty ridiculous. Plus, I didn’t disparage the man; I was simply asking a question. Journey has the hardest catalogue of any mainstream rock band, bar none, and it’s absurd to think that a 53 year old vocalist wouldn’t have to tune down at some point.
@@jarrodhall3686 On this tour, they don’t appear to be tuned down. At least for most songs. It seems like there is this rigidity about singing in the original key. Maybe they think that’s what the audience wants, but at what price. Interestingly enough, the second show the next of this, Deen sang it. It was a half-step lower. As was Mother, Father. (Whatever night he did it, whether it was the first or the second.) He sounded great, and I think it was barely detectable. It’s original key now. Deen will be 59 in August. I have no doubts he could have pulled it off if he didn’t smoke. You can tell the range is there, but the breath support not as much. (That’s one of the advantages he had from drumming.) (In case he reads this, and he does seem to read RU-vid comments often, smoking is one of the hardest things to quit. We still love you. lol. I doubt he reads the Arnel comments.)
