I don't think most people understand how hard it is to sing properly and play drums at the same time , Deen is a world class amazing drummer playing extremely difficult drum parts while singing pretty much exactly like Steve perry ... no other drummer I've heard of can do this ... and his singing ability he could literally walk into any existing band and become their singer ... just amazing talent ~
@@simplymusicfactory3323 I don't know why your diminishing his talent with your comment , but being a singing drummer myself my professional opinion is if he had to he would pace him self so he could hit the familiar high notes just fine , he is a trained professional vocalist and knows how to use his voice

@@MikeBUSA"The dude" you referred to was Deen. And comparing him and Arnel, I respectfully disagree with you. I know not everyone can sing the exact notes every time, but I think Deen is better. I can't help but wonder if Arnel uses a vocal track at times, because it wasn't very long ago when he was missing some high notes and now he can hit at least some of those previously missed notes. And you're totally right about Deen in Journey Through Time. From previous comments on other videos, I have seen others say that Deen doesn't want to lead, but with JTT, he totally proved that he can. They need to can Arnel and let Deen do most of it and give Jason Derlatka more chances to take on the lead vocals instead of just one or two. There may be others out there, but I've only seen videos of Jason singing three-"Girl Can't Help It", "I'll Be Alright Without You" and "Faithfully." Other than adding an extra word or two in "Faithfully", he totally nails that and "I'll Be Alright Without You." When I first heard him on that song, on certain parts of it, he sounded a lot like Steve Perry. Not an exact match but close. Again, they need to give him more chances to lead. If they aren't gonna do that, why did they add him to begin with?
Arnel has his own voice. He doesn’t try to mimic Steve. Dean is way underrated and a huge talent. I believe Dean could bring back the emotion to the lead vocals if he ever wanted to become lead singer. They’ve asked him, but he’s more comfortable behind the drums. I like Arnel, but I think Dean could bring back the vintage Journey feel as when Steve was lead singer.

They can change lead singers every day of the week, but Neal's guitar is always stellar. Deen is absolutely a force. Effortlessly performing one of the hardest Journey songs, and playing the drums too, is just remarkable
To all Perry fans: Arnel was brought in to continue a legacy sound that was made popular with Perry on lead vocals.He was not brought in to go in a different direction and thus he "sounds like" the original.Neal Schon said so in interviews why he made the effort to bring AP to the fold.AP is a Perry fan himself and has tremendous respect for the man.Just enjoy the music.Lets all enjoy it and cross our fingers that Steve might one day return and do even just one song with the old crew.That would be a blast.
Arnel no soul in his voice. Deen has soul and an incredible voice. He pays tribute to SP every time he sings Journey tunes. The absolute only substitute for Perry. All that and drums too!!
let’s be honest… Deen wouldn’t last a whole tour. I saw him sing without the kit around him. the voice was there, but i could see how uncomfortable he was. real music lovers would still go to a show like that… sadly watching a guy stand in one place probably wouldn’t do as well. Steve Perry’s cursed all these singers with the crazy keys. All these vocalists know they’ll never catch the original.

Thanks for sharing your HD-quality video once again, it's well done as always! ****the 2023 Journey Freedom Tour would be wrapping up SOON, and my gosh they managed to do the Concert successfully against all odds!! ***Hopefully, at the end of the Tour, those with feuds with each other would come up to their senses as mature people do and make amends!!..and plan ahead of time for what's NEXT with them instead of fighting!! ( for what good it would bring to them?) >>>> What good it would do to them, Jon and Neal are in their senior years, lucky them that at their age now, they are not afflicted with illness! *** >>Arnel Pineda is well-fit and does regular exercise and a good diet routine, and good sleep habits, otherwise, with the rate that's going on, how can he be able to perform with such intensity, his discipline to himself is astonishing! He remains loyal for 16 years as frontman without fail!! Yes ,but Steve wasn't playing the drum kit either ! Yes Steve's the greatest vocalist journey ever had ! He chose to walk away and these guys found whatever they needed to continue on .I met them at 7springs ,PA. Sat at the lounge and drank with them.! Only the ignorant ones went strait to their hotel rooms ! .
So much of their success, IMHO, is that they don't promote evil. The vast majority of people want to comply with the creator, it's visceral. We thirst for talent similar to this, yet we get degeneracy. God Bless Everyone.
This is indeed an amazing live performance... There is another live footage from a show in Manila years ago where you can easily tell the vocals on the video were pre-recorded. I am not sure why, Deen can do an insanely good job for sure, playback is not needed!!
He definitely is in Perry's class, Deen is 60 years old! Do you think Steve could even begin to do this now or when he was 60? You should listen to Deen's band, REVOLUTION SAINTS. He definitely is in Steve Perry's league, just 30 years older doing it❤

Why did they bother with Arnel, Deen is a much better singer, he sounds like Steve but still makes the songs his own. Arnel just goes through the motions in my opinion, and he sings with an accent which I find annoying---having said that it I think Neil Schon went about a great deal of the Journey sagas in a really bad and disrespectful way. He seems to be a bit of a dictator.
You try playing and singing this at the same time, you would get winded as hell! You obviously haven't heard Deen's band, REVOLUTION SAINTS! He can sing circles around Arnel and everyone in Journey, and the music industry, knows it!

Arnel is the 3rd replacement singer of journey coz steve no longer want to be with the group and can no longer sing journey songs at his age today even if he wants to, but still making money because of arnel doing his job for 16 years while relaxing in his mansion drinking 🍷🍸🍺😂. If you want steve back in journey then look for a time machine & go back to the 80's🤣
