This sounds awesome. Great demo, man! I ordered a used one for $115. It comes in Friday. Planning to pair it with an Alto TX208 I picked up for $99.99.

@@samgoffenguitar You're welcome. I ordered that pedal a few days ago, so I'll have a chance to enjoy it. Usually, a music/audio gear sounds different when arrived, and usually sounds better than on RU-vid reviews (there are many reasons for all of that). Any new gear is always great to have, anyway. Great video, mate. I have one coming next week. Have you hooked it up to your Cab Box yet? Trying to figure out best signal path. Thinking tuner, wah and distortion pedals into Preamp House input then using the send to the time based effects which then go to input of Cab Box finally XLR out to Digital Interface.

Can it be used with an Acoustic guitar?

Not really designed for it. No acoustic amp based sims. But if you’ve got a pick up in your guitar there’s nothing stopping you plugging it in. Just don’t expect your acoustic to sound like a Les Paul;)

Hi Sam! Are you still using this? I am trying to make my setup simpler and looks like this would fit the bill... mostly for blues and hard rock... I have plenty of overdrive pedals so I can fine-tune the flavor of my tone with those as well.. win?

Hi, Sam. I've had this pedal for about 4 months now, and I was wondering if you've ever used it live? When I go direct to the PA and play with a band, it seems that the cab sim doesn't properly replicate the frequency response of a guitar speaker, and I get a lot of unusable bass and fizzy top end. It sounds really bad. The bass gets entirely lost in the mix and all I'm left with is a thin trebley sound. The drive channel is practically unusable because it's just flabby bass and fizzy highs. I'm thinking I need to use some kind of hi / low-pass filter or get another cab sim / IR pedal that works better. Would you happen to have any experience with this? Thanks.

Hi Thanks for the feedback on this. You’ve had it a while but I’ll ask the obvious question : have you got the cab sim switch on the correct setting? I’ve not used it live, just as a studio pedal and found it pretty good for this. Has anyone you know got an Ir loader you could try with it to see if that does solve the issue?

@@samgoffenguitar Thanks for the response. Yeah it sounds great in your demos. Idk what's going on with mine live. I do have the cab sim on the correct setting [XLR: ON]. I don't know anyone with an IR loader. I was looking at this Sonicake mini IR pedal or the little TC Electronic one, so maybe I will pick up one of those and see if that solves the issue.

It sounds fine when I play into my FRFR powered speaker. So maybe the problem is PA related?

Hi, yes sounds like it could be. Have you tried it through different PAs or just the one? If it’s fine with your FRFR it makes sense that it’s not the unit that’s the issue.

Just the one. I'm also thinking that it could be doubling up with the mic preamp in the mixer, and I might need to fiddle with the relative gain settings.

what amperage are you using for the power supply?

Current demand is 400mA according to the manual. I used a one spot so had plenty spare as it handles around 1700mA according to their figures:)

Will this work with Nux's Amp Academy?

Hi, the Amp Academy is also basically an amp sim pedal. So you’d have two pedals doing the same job.

@@paolo-1283 hey:) both pedals do have cab sims as well as amp. If I were to go with one, I’d get the Nux tbh as it has a few more options and access to more ‘scenes’ ie different settings easily with reverb etc. This would be a good choice to go ampless:)

Hi, thanks for your video. I only play with headphones. How it sounds with Headphones?. If you need a reference what quality sound i expect i can tell you that, for example, Joyo Bat Amps do not sound good...so i thought of this preamp. So... Do you recommend it for using with headphones?. Thanks !!!

@@kladiwar8609 heya. It sounds okay with headphones, but it’ll really depend on the quality of the headphones. Personally I don’t like using headphones in general although I do when needed for practice and good in-ears do the job, so I can’t say I love most things through headphones, which is why I can only say it sounds okay. If you have good headphones it should work fine for you :)
