I personally think the Joyo sounds more like a tube amp than the preamp live. And it's literally a quarter of the price. Sub'd. Thank you so much for this video! I was looking into the Mooer but this changed my mind without a doubt! The Joyo kicks serious ass!
Hi. I had a chance to lay my hands on my friends Preamp House today. With it's own camb sim it didn't seem to shine but as soon as I played it through Torpedo cab I dropped my jaw hard on the floor. I use few analog preamps to play at home and an Atomic Ampli-firebox and what Joyo has done is a very good quality modeling. You can use tube screamer, booster or even fuzz in front of it without any trouble. I appreciate your honest reviews and find your channel to be somewhat reference in terms of gear and playing. Direct side by side I can tell that I like the preamp live better, but I know for a fact that if it wasn’t A/B I probably couldn’t tell the difference in tone. Sounds so good!
Hopefully this video gets good traction! I feel these are often asked about and not compared this way. 8 string, metal, good mix of playing, and with a real cab instead of direct. Almost no one used real cabs on RU-vid. This is how I want to run my gear. I just don't know what power amp I want. I want a cheap good one. The baby bomb will be a good start. I still need a 4x12 though. Only have a 1x12 with a v30.

I just bought the Joyo Preamp House - hoping to try recording with it this weekend. I mainly like if for its simplicity. No editing software needed. Just plug in, turn the knobs and go.
Can I use the Joyo as an amp in a box. Right now I have a combo amp and a cabinet. What i want to do is to get stereo sound with two amps. So, my question is can I connect effects stereo out to the joyo preamp house and then the joyo to a cabinet? I asking because i don´t know if I need another pedal as a power amp stage simulator (Nux solid studio).
For.someone like me who doesn't have a lot a money to play with all the time the fact that that these cheaper modelers exist and you can get a good metal tone is awesome. Cause honeslty it took me along time to save up for my Dover DA 50 which is love. But I like having other tonal options at my disposal.
Your 100 percent right. And its my maybe but I was just saying even with that I like having access to some cheaper options that can totally change up my tone. Without spending over $2000 you know. That dover is amazing and really versatile in my opinion but there are still things that it doesn't do. Or doesn't do on it own. And that preamp house is like $170 or so. Having something like that to go with the amo gives you so many tonal options.
Not to just start throwing adjectives around but the Mooer sounds more 3d and 'real' I guess. The Preamp House sounds narrower, but also tighter and more direct. For playing faster more technical stuff I feel like the Preamp Live could start to lose some of your notes where the House wouldn't... I'm biased though. Preamp House is my go to amp on the go solution.
