Jeez, the defense lawyer is testifying instead of asking questions.

I thought that was the defendant’s mom?
@makenziecely
@makenziecely 11 месяцев назад
@@deenikki9690I suspect they were referring to the very leading questions. Pretty much every question the defense lawyer asked the mom of the defendant was worded in an unusually specific manner. *Paraphrasing “You spent a lot of money to get bond, right?” “What services will she need-not diagnosed, but she will need mental health help, right?” “She is remorseful, don’t you think?” “She needs medical help, right, why do you think that (abuse from FIL was seemingly what he was leading her to discuss)”. Obviously, a defense lawyer doesn’t call a witness unless they are going to be helpful to the cause, but the witness is not supposed to just be a mouthpiece for the lawyers’ case bullet points. Edit: just finished, and he really only got worse with the leading questions, even testified that “pardon, but she IS remorseful”, which is not his place as an attorney. He can ask her, but not just continually give his personal opinion.

Both the defendant and her mother are living in a fantasy land where they can do/not do whatever they want with no reckoning. How rich that the woman asked the judge, 'Why are you doing this?'. Ignoring completely her actions and choices one by one brought her to that point. Her mother takes no accountability for parenting/enabling a child. Her daughter blames everyone and does not have remorse b/c she does not embrace her role in the violence towards the children or to the grandfather. Doubt prison term will change her perspective.

Not surprising when her mother has no idea what is going on. So much so she is willing to defend her. I want to know when people do what she is do they understand they are putting the children at risk,

@snooganslestat2030 Good point! Parenting is work; work that requires consistency, which is not always easy, by any means. I assume those who take the easy way out rarely, if ever, consider what the result might be for their child, just as you are suggesting.

She was “given” the drugs at 18 so she shouldn’t take accountability But the person who “gave” those drugs was a 19 year old boyfriend. So he doesn’t get the same “he was young and impressionable” guilt trip? I’m so tired of people blaming being young and naive as an out to their bad choices. She was married at 18 too? So she’s old and responsible enough to get married but not to say “no thank you” to someone giving her drugs? No one put a gun to her head to take them.

That girl and her mother are liars, this girl is nothing but trouble, and her lawyer is a nut job. The judge knows better. Wtg judge good call. Maybe she will get her life in order after 4 years.

Smoking pot doesn’t do that to you. You don’t want to fight when you smoke weed

She had to have done this more than once to be charged the way she was with A continuous violence charge. You have to have committed dv more than 2 times in a year according to Google. That’s why she got 4 years. The state was asking for 5 and she qualified for up to 10.

Good info but the attorney said this was her first offense. Nothing about any previous incidents. If they'd been dismissed I would think the judge would say. Idk Maybe not 🤷🏻‍♀️

She whacked her kid. CPS put the kid with Grandpa. She goes to Grandpa’s job, whacks him, and screams about seeing her kids, knowing she needs to be under supervision. And she’s a druggie, but that violence is not a marajuana type action.

Love this judge. She doesn’t play. Also, noticed that she often has a different handbag sitting on the desk in view of the camera. Smart, no nonsense and stylish too 😊.

The defense attorney is fighting for assistance for his client more than the client is fighting for assistance. You can't force someone to get help, whether your their lawyer or their mother, if their not ready.

The mother looks younger than the daughter, but you know how that marijuana can prematurely age you.

My 9 month old nephew can communicate better than that mother. If that’s their witness than they were clearly desperate.
