In this short video i'll be taking you step by step through my process of cutting a juice groove in a cutting board. The only materials you need to make this are your cutting board... a couple of scrap 2x4's, some 2" & 3" screws and a router with a cove bit.

Great video. Quick question. How do you determine the size of your spacers?
@jordzthecarpenter8683
@jordzthecarpenter8683 3 года назад
Well it varies from router to router so you just need to measure from the edge of the bit to the edge of the base on your router then determine the offset you want for your juice groove. So let’s say it’s 2” from edge of bit to edge of router base and you want a 1/2” offset you would subtract the offset from your edge of but to edge of base measurement and you would be left with 1.5” (2” - 1/2” = 1.5”) so that would be the size of spacer needed. I hope that helps and isn’t too confusing. I should have added that to the video sorry!

I just screwed up a cutting board by running my palm router anti-clockwise. I had to cut off about 1 1/2” off the end of my cutting board. I’ll follow your instructions of moving the router in a clockwise manner. Thanks!

Admission that I like something from a Vancouver canucks fan pains me a little. But sir I like what you've done here. Good idea thanks for just saving me probably 100 canadian pesos and a few hours.

Worked like a charm! Thank you! Guys no need to over think this. I didn't screw down the spacer blocks, I just made sure the fence was tight no need for the damn jigs ya just need to keep your spacer blocks and then cut 2x4 to fit the board This video saved me big time on money and time!!! I like to over build everyting. This time I didn't. Got a new sub from this Ever come to calgary well go to a van calgary game my treat ha ha
