i bought the game and just "finished" it. ended with jimmy telling me to talk to him after the next update. not really an end, i could rent the place out and see how the economy and mechanics of that work, but i'm done renovating for now. suuuper enjoyable though, i definetely recommend it. i hope they lean into the interpersonal stuff a bit more and really make it a stardew flipper kind of game, but i'm fine just building and repairing things, too. especially love getting off work in the bar and being told i'm too stinky (from working in the bar) to order a beer

HMT Windrush is referring to the Windrush Generation, when 800+ folks from the West Indies came over to the UK in the 50's. Lots of drama around how Britain treated them/is treating them and their families still. It's probably why there's so much ska in this as well. And yeah, the colour pallet for this game is both horrendous and perfectly captures the era.

1:00:00 Dehydration isn't totally about water. If you have lots of water (say in beer) and water then you'll be pissing out the salts in your body... especially if you dance or sweat while drunk. It's why I tend to find that drinking mixes is less likely to make me drunk and when I get home I put some salt in water and drink it (others have Gatorade or the like) I also switch to water a couple of hours before leaving these days as well as there is no point getting extra drunk just to go to bed.

I grew up in a rural county in Virginia and when I was a kid (like in 07), they put in one (1) traffic light at an intersection and the whole county got so mad about it that after that they just kept putting in roundabouts. If there’s an area that they decide is high traffic, they throw in a roundabout. There’s like 20 roundabouts by now, I’m sure. My highschool valedictorian did her speech on roundabouts. I wish I was kidding.
