LOL I have more dogs in my life than humans. Just the way I like it. No family bar a niece I live with, no friends. I’ve tried but hanging out with people is just boring for me. I’m at my happiest hanging out with my three dogs.

Omg love this idea! I’ll have to really think about it so I’m okay not being included since I recently only reconnected with another ND (she has adhd only) so it’s hard to say now bc it’s so recent. Instead, I’m interested in what others say. I’ll probably comment my stance on the vid! Looking forward to what yall get to say!

It was your question :) Friendship still baffles me and I'm on that journey too of understanding it.

I don't know myself so I can't gibe advice. Problem is, IF I go out and meet people who like what they see, it's my overstimulsted ADHD-side. And then I am not like that and they dislike the quiet autistic part, that is out at home, quiet situations I prefer. Or I just don't like the people that are ALWAYS loud, chatty and chaotic then and make me nervous with it. That's a clasdic problem: how to find people You like to be ar home with in nice parallel play if You have to go out to meet them🤷🏽‍♀️

It's complicated, isn't it? I have a lot of trouble unmasking for most people. Then that leaves nothing left for my family when I get home from work. Friendship is not easy...at all.

@@autisticjenny well, just had first talk on phone more then four hours with bestie I thaught I have lost after months yesterday. Was good. Am too overwhelmed and exhausted to tell more now, but will. Your answer came the moment I wanted to put away phone. Good things happening cost spoons too🥴

Is ok to not want friends?

I think it's just a personal decision....whatever is best for you. My personal opinion is that it is nice to have someone to talk to. And some people define close relatives like parents, siblings, or cousins as friends and I think that's ok too.

@@autisticjenny I had always been social up until my mid 40s and now basically a recluse, a happily married recluse. I went thru a pretty bad burnout/regression and I've completely forgotten how to hold a conversation 😆
