I am a late-diagnosed woman with autism, sharing my experiences and journey with you! I like to make edu-vlogs which have some education sometimes sprinkled in with life and reality for me. My goal is to create a community here where we can share together and learn more about autism. My hobbies are photography and photo-editing. I am a massive content creator on many levels!

As I still hadn't had my official diagnose (but now have a first apointment in october 25 paid private) I can't answer that question. But for myself KNOWING I am also autistic I learned a lot. With every new vocabulary I get about all my "strange" feelings I feel like "Ohhhh, THAT'S it, okay, now I have a word for it, nice" Listening to all of You explaining Your experience helped me a lot. Still does. I am not "something akward different" any more. I am very graceful (is this the right english word for overwhelming thankful?) You autistic YTers opened this new world for me. But: how is Your back now, Jenny? I imagine it will need a while to recover, how is it at work, sitting on a desk? My best wishes, honey😊

Hello, my friend! I am sorry for falling behind on your videos. I have had 5 birthdays, including my own in the last two months. So, it's been a lot. I stim with my body, more than stim toys. I walk on my toes, bop up and down with my toes, and yes, my hair is the best, for stimming.. It was fascinating to watch your journey, I can understand being comfortable behind a camera, you take beautiful pictures, without having direct eye contact. 😮😊❤🙏

Learning that I am autistic has been a very positive experience for me. I now have an understanding of myself that explains my whole life since my earliest memories starting at about three years old. Literally hundreds of times in the last two and a half years I have remembered events from my past and I have been able to make sense of the difficulties I have had relating to other people and why my interests and my feelings both positive and negative have been so intense. I am autistic and I now know that I am not the only person in the world who has a brain that works like mine does. There are many others who I can genuinely relate to and it has made the world a friendlier place for me. Thank you for your videos Jenny. I very much appreciate you and your channel and everyone who shares their thoughts and experiences here. God bless.

Hi Jenny ! Are you better ? Thank you for this interesting idea ! I didn't really take the time for a retrospective (yet), but I'd say more or less the same, I stim a lot, I do more shutdowns than meltdowns, I try to prevent sensory overload as much as I can, instead of just suffering from it, and I finally understood many of my life long problems come from executive functions issues. I think I'm a little bit more kind to myself. But there's still a lot to learn and to do. I have to say it, I love your T-shirt !!! Take care !

Oh yeah i manipulate fabrics too. I have a big thing for textures. Growing up i alternated between being shutdown for a long time and being really hiperactive making crazy jokes. calling anyone an over-reactor, exaggerater or a drama queen is invalidating. hyperconnective brain wiring = big feelings = big meltdowns. we can control our emotions about the same way epileptic people can control seizures. sending healing wishes and the common humanity of knowing what paralyzing back pain feels like.😢

Some people tell me im a very calming presence, and other people tell me I'm overly dramatic, it's very confusing for me. When my marriage ended, I was assaulted shortly after, my best friend told me "your life is one crisis after anther, I've had enough of your drama" and cut me out. I think perhaps the expectation is that we don't experience emotions at all? It sounds like you're experiencing a difficult and painful situation right now, I think it's a perfectly reasonable response to be overwhelmed and distressed, not "dramatic" at all!

Please, take your pain killers as long as necesary, don't wait for your spine to be worse, like I did. Cayenne pepper balm is also very good for back pain, but wash carefully your hands after using it, any contact with eyes would be very painful. You're absolutely right, most people have no idea how intensely we can feel, and in addition to this, people who never suffered from real back pain always underestimate it and can't understand how bad it is. And with your father being sick, you had every reason in the world to have meltdowns, this is such an emotional overload nobody would be able to control it. Of course, a NT's reaction would probably be different, but it's not better, just different. Take all the time you need to rest, spine issues are something serious. I'm sorry it's reducing your income, I almost forgot how bad the US system is about health... I'm sorry I'm late, I've been lost in time because of fever... But I'm beginning to feel a bit better. Take great care of yourself, my friend, I hope you'll feel much better soon, but don't forget to be careful with your spine even when you're better !💕💕💕

Sorry you're having such a rough time, Jenny. The 'drama queen' descriptor is such a lazy trope for those of us who feel and experience things more deeply. I hope you're on the road to recovery very soon. 🧡 (I have a desk riser and it is helpful - I just need to be careful not to stand too long as it aggravates my sciatica. I think a balance between the two is the key)

The mental health professionals thought that I was a drama queen apparently. They misdiagnosed me with Histrionic Personality Disorder for a month when I was 15. Which makes no sense because when I talked I guess that I seemed dramatic but I kept to myself most of the time and wasn't constantly seeking attention. I wasn't trying to be dramatic. I just feel things too strongly.

I get overwhelm a lot but you are lucky you have support. Everyone I have meltdowns in front of makes me feel like a POS and get yelled at. I've had to have injections in my SI joint and I refuse to go back to the hospital because they do the same thing. I always have to watch how I act, have to watch what I say and everyone calls us a drama queen and you are the one that has to adjust. I haven't been able to have a routine for years.

Oh boy, Jenny, I feel for you, and relate so much to your emotional overwhelm, combined with physical pain. It's extra hard when closest loved ones sometimes don't understand and cause our distress to ramp up instead of helping to ease our anxiety. I'm in a kind of similar situation because of my own problems right now. Really sorry about your back, but at the end of your video your own emotional strength seemed to be gaining ground. I understand what it is like to be overwhelmed; I've been there many times. We feel pain and emotional upsets more intensely than people who are not autistic and it certainly is real. We can't just brush it off and we do need time to recuperate. I also understand how difficult a disrupted routine can be. You are on my prayer list Jenny. God bless.

Hi Jay (from someone whose routine has been disrupted for a while now). Feeling emotional and physical pain more intensely and knowing I'm perceived as a "typical emotional woman" are some of the things that make it so hard to even want to connect with NT's anymore. My family and I are very close but even they let can me down sometimes. I'm working on an email to you and might even finish one tonight. There will be multiples. Take care.
