Jordan K. The mark hunt win he still showed some power and aggressiveness. That knockdown in the 1st round he sent mark hunt tumbling all the way to the fence. Great moment. But once Cain beat him in their 3rd fight, he started taking long layoffs and looking less and less impressive. This fight was end of 2014, a year removed from the Cain trilogy. After this fight he would then take another year off and fight Overeem end of 2015.
These guys move really well and have good endurance for big dudes. Usually in the heavyweight division they're slow and really tired by the second round.
i feel like JDS was more popular at the time and they let him have the victory. just my opinion though. both men fought with tremendous skill. Stipe got his revenge in the rematch.
Haven't watched the 5th round yet, Stipe seems to be up 3-1. Rounds 1 and 2 clearly I think. And round 4, Junior had a takedown in the last minute but Stipe hit the switch quick and had already won the round with or without an advancementless takedown. Half of Juniors shots were landing on the glove, however he had very nice body work. So I know Stipe doesnt get knocked out, so Stipe won this.
Judges should be governed by thier most recent decisions.. there should be a better system in place.. there was a judge caught texting DURING the fight just recently.. it's getting ridiculous.
Wow!!! Outstanding performance by both men. What a fight and most importantly, best respectable fighters in ufc history. I'm a fan of Stipe Miocic. JDS deserve win 48:47 with his takedown defenses but who the hell was the judge who scored 49 : 46? Worst judges scored who does not deserve to be in MMA commission. Kick him out and don't ever let him enter the arena even to watch such fight. Hats off to Stipe & Junior.
This is the greatest fist fight of all times. I've never ever seen (HW - MMA) fist fight war like this one, not even close. Bloody battle of 2 giants lasted for a 25 f'ckin' min. It's awful to watch it. And amazing too. Hat down to JDS & Stipe. Watta superior athletes and warriors they are. Yeah.
very close fight, junior scored knock down and had advantage in takedowns, he scored 1/2, while stipe 1/12 and clearly won fight 48/47, but how the hell judges scored 49/46 it's insane

JDS is younger that Stipe. Stipe is not slowing down. JDS physically looked great in his last fight. I hope he can mount a comeback. Still a young gun.

Fight still pisses me off. The judges were obviously payed off. Stipe did far more damage and landed more significant strikes that caused injury. He had a better plan and executed it fabulously. It should be Stipe 2, Dos Santos 0. He was even winning the 3rd beautifully until the knockdown. Maybe they got the names backwards, because the fight should've been 49-46 for Stipe. If anyone won 4 rounds it was him. It was 48-47 Stipe then and it still is today. This was back when the judges made sure the winner was whoever the UFC wanted.
Junior clearly won every round. A lot of people do not see the slip punches. He slipped the takedown all night. He fought defense AND offence peddaling backwards. Jds also hit hard right to the end. He deserved the win.
It’s funny that Rogan is saying that no one was expecting Stipe to be that good with his stand-up.. Stipe being a boxer was an ignorant thought.. No matter how good Junior is/was with his hands.. Stipe had years of training throwin hands..
This was a phenomenal match, one for the ages for sure imo.. This was a prime Santos for sure and stipe too and stipe right now is still in his prime.. This was very close fight for sure very hard to tell who won.. but overall I thought santos won..

That was probably the best jds we will ever see he probably didnt realize who he beat at the time. Awesome war. Even though it was slightly one dimentional....there was plenty of hard leather to make up for it. Nobody wants to see a jitz match anyway.
Usually depends of the weight he comes in at, at around 238 its really good, then for some reason he can only gain like 8 pounds then its really bad lol
Total BS, the judges were apparently blind. Scoring it 49-46 JDS is complete crap and just advertises the non-stop bias against Stipe. At least JDS didn't pull a DC, winning by eye pokes. Miocic is a true champion, and the best UFC heavyweight ever.
