Such a favorite, beautiful old song. Done as a New Orleans funeral march to the Church. A great honor for those who had just left us. The always great sound and video. New Orleans traditional jazz at its best.
This was certainly different, and Tuba Skinny, knocked it out the ballpark! a great dedication, from them, and this one always, pulls on the heartstrings! Thanks James, for bringing this one, for us too savour! 👌
Great that you have filmed Tuba Skinny at Jackson Square this French Quarter Festival again. I feel so happy and privileged that I can watch and listen to the band on your channel. Thank you so much. Best wishes to you Dave 👋
Sou outra brasileira fã ardorosa dessa banda. Escuto todos os dias quando faço minha corrida no parque da Redenção em Porto Alegre. Eles me inspiram definitivamente. Não consigo parar de escutar músicas tocadas de forma tão encantadora. Fico maravilhada da forma como são harmoniosos, como os instrumentos conversam entre si. Definitivamente, são os músicos que sempre quero ouvir.
Thank you, had lunch with a friend from Louisiana today, and we discussed Jazz Fest, NOLA food, Frenchmen Street. This just adds to the longing to be there.
Love how Shaye signals very subtly when she wants another musician to take the lead, they know exactly what’s expected of them but it appears spontaneous 😀
Thank you! Awesome pov, scary-good resolution. This is the most intimate video of this band I have seen yet. The movements of all the different feet might be distracting to some viewers but to me it makes their harmony all the more impressive. Thanks. I don't know how you're going to top ths but I know you'll try . . . Thanks again. DOUG out
TS wonderful as always. I'm no expert but the guy on the liquorice stick must be one of the finest players of that instrument in the whole darn world! So many times his beautifully moving solos, esp in TS's slower numbers, have me reaching for the kleenex...
@@JamesSterling The ''rank amateur'' as you put it provides us with great coverage of the performances of the absolute best trad jazz band on the music scene today. Excellent work Mr. Sterling ..................
Nice! I hope you realize how important your videos are of these performances. Think about where we'd be without Alan Lomax. As an aside, sounds like Barnabas' trombone is hitting sound re-inforcement's compressor a bit hard. I guess too late to get the engineer to back it off a bit. Another gem from TS!
if you don't mind, can you once in a while point the camera at the audience that is present?because I want to know how the expressions of the audience there are
I usually do pan to the audience at once during a concert. Watch to the end of this video from this same performance: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-IphbWH-c83A.html
