I game tested this for 6 months. I got so much catharsis from the right kicking you gave it. Thank you. This is a Just Cause 4 celebration.

I saw some streamers playing this "ahead of release" and I was like "Wait a sec, what do you mean ahead of release, I've definitely played this game like months ago." I then realized Just Cause 4 wasn't Just Cause 3.

I honestly forgot this game was coming out .

That is exactly what I expected. In Just Cause 3, you already had the world at your fingertips, and you could tether that world to a helicopter and watch it explode. What the hell could you do in a sequel except repeat that?

I have never finished a Just Cause game. Every attempt devolves into me giggling like a lunatic while playing mad scientist with the physics engine.

It's the opposite problem of Just Cause 3. Where as the A.I enemies use to have inhuman accuracy able to down you in 1-2 shots while gliding at terminal velocity pulling off all these flips and tricks all over the place. (More so with the sky fortress DLC that gives you a jetpack) And even in the lower difficulties. Now you're a bullet sponge and the enemies are a worse shot than Stormtroopers with blindfolds and the safety on.

You know it's bad when Yahtzee doesn't make a single Just 'Cause joke in the review.

This won't be good. When I saw videos illustrating new enemies with enhanced AI and defenses I got excited. When I found out you could only liberate areas by completing repetitive missions my heart sank.

Honestly, I really enjoyed this game. It DID feel like an addition to the story and at the end when they talk about taking down the agency, that'll make for a great final game, Rico will be old enough to retire, both him and Sheldon will destroy the corrupt agency they once worked for, Sheldon will probably die to add emotion, etc.

The only (admittedly kind of weak) defense I can think of for the graphics is that it helps with the whole "tornado can wreak havoc anywhere" thing. It's less graphically intensive to show dozens of trees and such being uprooted and strewn about when they look like pieces of fuzz with a vague tree-like shape.

The first game felt like it actually had a real story. The second one had more gameplay and more intros to story but not really any plot. The third game was what the second game was missing, story but felt like a really expensive DLC. The fourth game decided to become really serious with elements from Saints row 3. The funniest thing is the hardest thing in all the games was in the first game. The Xbox original and PS2 did not have achievements but show challenges that would carry on if you did them. This challenge was made into an achievement, day two patched, give a free gamer score or trophy, then patch again and took out of the game. Surviving five stars for ten minutes went from 30 points to 50 points in two days. The challenge was beat the entire game with only the starting pistols with unlimited ammunition and the grable hook. If you did this, any replay of the game gave you unlimited amno for all weapons. The funniest thing was that perk would transfer over to the other games if you play the first game on Xbox 360 or PS3 and all memory was saved on an external drive. Best part is this not a glitch, it was first found out on the PC version.

This is evidence that just cause is now having the 'saints row' treatment. By being more and more insane it becomes less and less interesting

Honestly, I would've been happier paying $10-$20 on an expansion to JC3 that improved the vehicle cameras, controls, added more weird shit to mess around with, and if they could manage it, the tornadoes and whatnot.

This is amazing, I think I remember every single complaint here being fixed in JC3. How have SO MANY THINGS gone from the series? And for what? The balloons seem to be the ONLY new thing!

I was going to get this game, the whole tether mod things were pretty neat. Then I looked back and noticed I haven't beaten JC3, then glancing back and JC4, noticed the price tag. I went on steam, saw a holiday sale for JC2. JC2 the actual good one.... going for a dollar and some change.... what.... the.... FUN!?!?!

The worst part though is you don't remote bombs like the previous one

Honestly, I’ll be satisfied if this game plays exactly like Just Cause 3, but with a framerate that doesn’t drop like a lead balloon. On an unrelated note, I’m starting to think Jenny Agutter is Yahtzee’s kryptonite.

I did have a lot of fun with the thruster tethers, I was able to make a normal bus into a functioning magic school bus that was actually easy to control in the air

I was really excited about this game. Just Cause a series that I really love, and the third one is one my favorite games. It’s so sad to see it go downhill. That being said, the Easter eggs are still pretty cool.

Watership Down might be why he's so cranky. It has traumatized so many children.

The game is a shit ton of fun. I'm really enjoying it so far. Although it still has bugs like crashing randomly but turning off steam auto updates seems to have stabilised it.

I briefly tuned into the livestream when he played some of it, and I couldn't tell whether it was Just Cause 4, 3, 2, or Just Cause... remastered. After somewhat fixing the FOV in 3 to make it playable at all, I've given up on it. They didn't have to make another one, really didn't.

How could this new game actually backtrack on the liberating districts? Last game was blowing the hell out of the enemy base and exploding the propaganda and fuel tanks to liberate it and it was a really cool spectacle, now you have to defend a hacking computer?? What the hell?

From JC2 onward, you can really sum up the series with the box arts. JC2 was a game about crazy action, but it had a certain flair and substance. JC3 just kinda has the crazy action and not much else, so that main selling point is all just farted onto the box. JC4 was so poorly planned that people forget it even exist, so the art has simply become "Blank Man stares at game world".

Thank goodness I wasn't alone in thinking the graphics were just plain off. Maybe it has something to do with the sheer scale of the map, but I could swear JC3 looked better and more polished.

If you guys havent played any of these, play 2 before 3, it's better than 3 and 4 but has no wingsuit so going back to it after 3 or 4 will make it seem slower, but that means vehicles have a use

Now, that's what I call grass fed beef.

I know Yahtzee said that the final boss of JC3 was "plainer than beans on toast", but it was very awkward getting to the climactic finale built up all the way throughout JC4 and then just not having a final boss. It's like if you left hand had gone a bit numb so you decided to get it amputated. The problem wasn't that it was there, it was the execution and simply removing it was certainly not the solution
