okay so last month we got Guardians of the Galaxy, last week we got Across the Spider-Verse, and now we get The Flash just two weeks later which apparently is freaking awesome. I honestly can't remember the last time we got 3 or more GREAT comic book films in a row. Edit: yeah the movie was a total let down ngl. It was fun for a while but then you get to things like the final battle or THAT scene with the different universes and you start wondering, how tf was WBD so invested on thinking this movie was going to perform well? Why didn't Peter Safran or David Zaslav keep their mouths shut? Why would they create some insanely high expectations? James Gunn said The Flash was his favorite film of 2023. IT'S NOT EVEN THE BEST SUPERHERO FILM OF THIS MONTH 😭 This isn't a celebration of DC, sometimes it even feels like an insult more than anything. The DCEU had an alright run but it needs to go away.

Saw the movie yesterday. The movie theater was full here in Puerto Rico. I really liked it, loved all the cameos, specially one in particular 😢. Great moments. I grew up with the wonderful Michael Keaton so for me was a incredible moment. Maribel Verdu as the mother was a great surprise because we know her from the Spanish movies and she always deliver not matter the character or the language. I didn’t care for the CGI it was more about the drama, the family and time travels. Ezra was great in both Flash

I just saw it what a fucking trip! So much fun....not perfect but highly entertaining! Somewhat rushed in certain parts and some of the cgi was definitely choppy but who cares great elseworlds tale. loved that Keaton was back I was hoping he was in it more but still badass flick with many peak moments that lived up to the hype....loved Sasha as supergirl very cute and great. Hopefully we see her again! And fucking Keaton!!

That's probably my only real gripe with the movie. I expected it to be better considering one of the delays was to allow them to finish the visual effects. I guess it just wasn't in the budget.

yes the cgi got wonky in spots (cough...babies...cough) but i don't have that low threshold that reacters like coy and greg and was really impressed how they pulled off two barry's. that said, i've taken for granted that it's something hollywood can pull off pretty well by now (and superman 3 did it first in the dcu).

For me one of the best scenes, and not talked about at all, is when [SPOILER] Keatons Batman takes on a Kryptonian by himself and wins. That really depicts the essence of what Batman is, and his fearlessness which helps him come out on top, even in the most impossible situations where He is ridiculously outmatched, but because He's Batman. It's just great.

I think the key things lots of people have to understand about Live Action Batman Portrayals is like the Christian Bale one was supposed to be based more in reality than Fiction like "How would Batman really be if it was less fictional and more realistic" This is seen throughout the Nolan films of action and fight sequences having less super fast dynamic cuts and more choreographed classic types of fight Whereas Ben Afflecks Version of Batman is literally supposed to represent "How would a comic accurate Batman really be on the big screen opposed to being realistic" Even if you observe his feats in the other movies he does things that are not superhuman but could be on the level of an Enhanced Human such as One punch being able to put a guys head through a wooden floor , or having such good sharpshooting skills he was able to snipe and shot fast moving Parademons , or catching the Flash while hes descending or surviving an enraged Superman heat vision being fired into his gauntlet. So I don't think he should be measured on a scale of reality more of fiction! Hype for more your reactions and reviews and we need you guys to react to more DC Animated Movies XDD

But aside from that… maybe if you are watching joss Whedon version… there were some script and character choices that weren’t done well. But, if we’re watching the Snyder cut… he really felt like Batman. That’s the movie where he felt complete, and yeah… can’t find many innavuracies in terms of character and personality, anyways…Or costume design, very frank miller. I’m having a hard time calling him in accurate. Aside from… well, the one thing other ppl say.

I seriously think they're (DC) working their way towards, Kingdom Come. Not only have Gunn and Cavill been in talks for him to come back maybe at a later time as Kal, but DC owns all of its charcters. There are soooo many great stories for them to tell though. Like with Booster Gold, when he recks Bruce's life trying to give him a gift. That would be the perfect stepping off point for "The Brave and The Bold" instead of Bruce marrying Selena. Whoever they get to play Hal Jordan and John Stewart have some big shoes to fill, because the DCAU is so well put together that they could copy paste it and fans would be happy. Justice League VS the Royal Misfits for example, could be an entire 3 part movie series in its own. This is a good time to be a DC fan.

It's solely whining that an actor hurts your feelings, so you intentionally reduce a rating or give a bad review of a film. If you're a critic, you shouldn't have a job because you're bad at your job, not because you hurt other people's feelings about your behavior outside of the job.

I saw flash early. I also have a few gripes. mostly the same, I really really enjoyed it. Tho definitely I would say don’t go in over hyped. Its super super solid. Im a fan and I can’t wait to see the full movie when it drops! Also have to mention my first viewing was in the front row of imax 😂

@@novasmoove836 Marvel's problem is their production process, primarily since the start of Phase 4. They shoot with unfinished scripts, rushed filming with typical extensive reshoots, and then an extremely fast-tracked post-production. James Gunn has spoken about this, and VFX artists have publicly lodged their complaints. Marvel could have better CGI if they wanted to, but Kevin Feige deems it more important to release 5 movies and 5 shows per year rather than actually release quality projects (aka quantity > quality). The Flash on the other hand has been in post-production for ages. The fact many of its shots look worse than shots from any of the Marvel films you listed is quite shocking. That and the fact that The Flash's CGI is an overall downgrade from many films released 10 years ago.

@@RShadow12live action are just tough to get right when it comes to comic book films. The Spiderverse films work so well because they can push the limits of the animation medium. A film like The Flash is really tough to adapt because they don't get the luxury of being grounded like the Marvel heroes. Even The Avengers films have a lot of practicality to it.

@@DReppin2009 “Grounded” vs “comic book” has no affect on “good vs bad CGI.” You can still have fantastic looking CGI that’s well-rendered when working with more spectacle films like The Flash. I just got back from the theater and I am calling it, Sasha Calle is officially the best on screen Supergirl we have ever had!!!! I pray James Gunn keeps her for the upcoming Supergirl movie. It’s impossible not to be an instant fan of hers. She is the exact the type of hero we need for today. I hope they also bring her adorkable qualities into her 🤞🤞 future performance.

@@yusufbey1587 Ok we have very different opinions then. Because they haven't felt even remotely grounded or deep to me at all. Perhaps that's what they were trying for but I did not get that at all. I found them quite dull and pretentious bar a few decent action scenes. Also Superman can be emotional and deep but also fun and happy... Snyder's Supes just never rang true to the character for me at all. If you like it. Ok cool. Just ain't my Superman at all. But that's ok. I've got others that are.

@@carn9507 yea we all have our opinions I thought his Superman was the best the old Superman was very boring to me Chris reeves is great but the character was super boring to me I never cared about Superman until zacks superman he made Superman cool not just a guy who saves kittens from trees and flies around a ice house lol the first flight scene is beyond iconic and he could be fun at times as well zack told a Superman story that wasn’t ever told before instead of doing the same thing everyone else has done he tried something different he has the best action scenes in any cbm imo the Batman warehouse scene is iconic no one has come close and the fight between him and zod was epic he transcended cbm imo the Russo brothers also admitted that they were greatly inspired by zack as well as Cameron and Nolan have Henry will forever be my Superman he was born for the role

Depends on the person involved. I don't agree with the whole 'separate the art from the artists' crap that people like to use as an excuse who prioritise their own enjoyment of something over the hurt and trauma caused by the artist to their victims. People who still listen to R. Kelly for example... I think some of the Ezra Miller stuff has been misrepresented and exaggerated. But they're not great.

Tom King is a super polarizing writer, you either love him or hate him. I happen to fall into the former category. Ever since I read his run on The Vision I’ve been obsessed with all his work. Mister Miracle is him at his peak, but most recently he did Gotham City: Year One and that was amazing. I’m ride or die, I even like Heroes in Crisis.

So finally saw the film. First, I agree it is a lot of fun, loved seeing Keaton return! Also agree all of the nostalgia stuff is fun and that miller crushes both roles and Supergirl crushes her role too. There's such a plethora of fabulous actors in this town, that the acting is never an issue in almost any movie. BUT....for me, as you said the heart of the film is the story about losing his mother. So why did the family have to disappear for almost the entire film? I get that they need to save the world, but if you were in a world where you had the chance to see your mom or at least talk to her...wouldn't you be calling her and stopping in, even for brief moments to see her... I think interspersing even phone conversations with her throughout the film, might have helped the pacing and the already heartfelt ending. I I imagine the Mom and Dad worry about Barry.. there could have been a scene at home of them wondering where he is, and Barry calling to let them know when he'd be home...etc..

Honestly I had a way better time watching this than spiderverse. It had the heart, action, nostalgia and humor. Great performances too. I heard the cgi was intentional but yeah i noticed that too. I saw the screening on May 31st. It wasnt the final cut so im excited to see that when it comes in theatres and the final end credits scene they decided to go with. Im sure they saw the final version to review hopefully. The emotional plotline did get to me even though i am aware about Flashpoint and how it ends. I lost my mom too and mann when u see the birthdays the mom gets to be there, Barry being envious and mean to young Barry having what he never got and taking it for granted is me when people dont appreciate having their mom in their lives. I was crying at the end and trying to hold my tears throughout. I sooo needed this movie because it has a good message and how hard it is to let go and accept the way things are that we can't change. The core three were phenomenal and left me wanting more. Very funny and entertaining too. I am a big DC fan and Batman is my fave and I love Flash from the Bruce Tim Justice League cartoon. My theatre was pretty into it and vocal. Especially during one cameo!
