JW 2019 Convention review 

I recently had a friend visit, and I was getting tied up in knots, worrying about how I could help her see the things about the Lord that I'm seeing, etc. So, I took it to the Lord, and he said to me, "I know what she needs." That calmed me right down, and when she arrived, I was so thrilled to hear some of the things the Lord had spoken to her through a completely unexpected third party. Truly, the Lord does know what each person needs, and he'll hook you up with exactly the right people at exactly the right time. He speaks in wonderful ways through you, Ali.

Hello Ali, it’s wonderful to see you surviving. You’re articulating my own life experience of leaving the org 36 years ago. When I was in the wilderness that you are just entering, the thought never left me that Jehovah is more merciful than his people. My touchstone was always creation. Who made us. Yes, many believe they emerged from a slime millions of years ago, but for me, I could, and still do, see design and through that design, a creator. Search for that creator, and the creator will find you. Be true to yourself...you know your heart. There is no need to seek approval from others for your actions, only Jehovah...you won’t find Him in the org, but you will find a Him in his works if you are true to yourself. I was thinking of going just one day myself but I couldn't "muster up boldness" or stomach it, but I wouldn't have minded joining you all. I haven't been to a Wisconsin convention since one of the 2017 days right as I was beginning to wake up. Good for you on goal-setting for taking care of your health and you. The Borg sure did give us the mindset of "why do extra on the house or self-care" with the perpetual armageddon paranoia. I'm 10 minutes in so I'll check back after I finish listening.

Seems to me you'r doing a great job of "speaking your truth" - you're pointing things out but not being ugly about it, not vengeful, not mean or aggressive - you're addressing the problem without making those doing such things "the bad guy" - love and compassion - love listening to you

I am fully awake of all the facts that are surrounding this organisation but i can't go anywhere, i feel pretty bad because my wife isn't woken at all and she knows about my thoughts but she won't accept it and tells me all time i am letting her down etc... All my family is jw as well. The convention is next month and i feel so bad about going but i haven't got a choice. When you actually study the history and read the bible, some things are sooooo clear but no-one sees it, its like a defence mechanism starts working the moment you mention something negative but very factual. Its so frustrating because i know i am not a bad person because i think differently but i am being made out to be, an opposer and eating from the table of demons. Its very painful because i have done my research and JW are lovely people but under all that conditional love there is a lot of hate and judgemental behaviour that WILL come to the surface as soon as you disagree. I try to keep doing my research but i have to keep quiet so far because i know the consequences of my critical thinking 😔i want to thank you and Thank you for your video, hopefully i will be as strong someday😊👍

You are on the right path .. I’ve been out 25 years & now have a relationship with Jesus. It takes time to “deprogram.” And it takes time to rebuild after watchtower, but it can be done! I’ve made a great life, and am determined to NOT let watchtower win!! I’m so glad you haven’t lost your faith.. there’s a big difference between faith & religion..I never try to shove Jesus down people’s throats. It doesn’t work that way, but I do WARN everyone about the JW indoctrination.. never would I want anyone to suffer shunning!! Great job!! 🙏👍

I can say I identify with many parts of where you're at with things. This winter was hard on me and I too am trying to get back to focusing on my health after not doing it for so long. As well as sorting out what things look like from here on out for me. It comes in so many layers and waves when you make the conscious decision to walk away from this religion. I am also straddling the line of in and out with friends still in that I'm close to. Its nice to hear you're connected to PIMOs and have that aspect still in your current circle. Its different than someone who is completely out and cut off from everyone and everything. Please continue to share when you have topics to talk about. But of course take care of you first! I did study back in the late 80s -90s.but i questioned doctrine about blood Jesus being Michael and false dates .which did not go down very well .all i remember was being shown scary magazines about Armageddon.which is based on fear.but i serve a true living God.and Jesus Christ as my lord and saviour .

I would like to share a little of my story, I left the witnesses in 2003.the first phase I went through when I began to doubt, was rabid research into first, the witnesses doctrine and history, and then other Christian sects and the Bible itself. This took a while. I was still working off of my programming, certain that there was a higher power who would structure my life for me and save me from the evil world. However, eventually I began researching other religions and faiths and philosophies and psychology and Neuroscience and all the things I was reprimanded for researching previously. I went through a phase of EX Jehovah's witness activism and was close with the Myspace community, but eventually I had to step back for my own sanity and healing. My new family and friends helped ground me more than anything. But I found that religion was not something we needed to have in common out here. so I found my own beliefs that had always been there, under the surface, causing friction with the dogma, struggling to get out through my literal dreams. All I can say, is do not rush your healing. You will find your own magic.

I don't come from a religious background but after many trials I said to God help me suddenly I had the sensation that someone was lifting me up by the shoulders and it is a long story but I truly believe in being saved because two years ago it happened to me and now I go house to house out of a burning desire to share the gospel I would say don't worry about organisations but know that God is truly real and He is there for you.

I was raised as a JW and active for over 40 years and been out for nearly 20 years. I have to admit I find so many of the JW changes shocking. When I decided to leave I wrote a letter and made a clean break, thank goodness. I have been shunned by my family and friends ever since that time, including one of my daughters who sadly I haven't spoken to in nearly 20 years, her choice not mine. The first major hurdle as a non JW for me, was just recognizing I no longer had all the answers. Another was recognizing the affects of being raised a JW and how it effects my thinking on matters both secular and spiritual. For me this has helped me to move on with my life and to develop a more flexible mind set. I do see many ex JW's jump to some other religious organization or reject any spiritual or religious views. I still hold to my Christian beliefs and faith, but with far more flexibility and less judgmental beliefs . Sometimes you will best help others by helping yourself. Hope you are able to move beyond the JW organization, a difficult task indeed. Definitely like to see how you are doing, good luck as you move through the process of moving on.

My dad hated anything Christian, and I was always filled with faith and love for Jesus and my heavenly Father and Holy Spirit. I am not an organized religious person but I see Him and feel Him in everything. Then my dad had a personal, and miraculous experience with just him and the LORD, and he went from agnostic to Faith in Christ. None of this can be explained except it is a very personal experience, but very real. Hugs

Excellent video! I have a friend who recenrly joined the JWs. Im agnostic. I was always highly suspicious of this org. Since my friends conversion, I did research out of curiosity and I'm pretty digusted. I know its not my job to dissuade her, i mean i tried on one occasion to no avail. Do you have any helpful advice for those on the outside who see a friend loosing her freedom?

Thankyou Alexandra for your spot on comments about Chritian freedom and your personal expierience. Years ago before it was shortend the Public Talk outline "You will reap what you sow" was a survey of the book of Galations. It searved as part of my wake up call in the late 90's. I still have that original outline and the @ 4hrs of research materials which use to be furnished with it. That talk outline should have been named 'A call to christian freedom'. I am sure that is why the format was changed. God bless you and continue in your freedom in the Chrst.

We most definitely do not want to create the same again. I always remember that God created us as family and friends not as corporations and religions. None of us are meant to be neither followers nor leaders. It's not healthy human nature to be either way.

You are an amazing woman. Very well spoken. An obviously well educated, down-to-earth, classy and mature lady. I can hear and feel the heartache coming from your soul. I have been where you are, (not ex--JW, a different cult that also did not celebrate xmas and birthdays), but I wanted to say...you have done well. You did not allow your experience to turn you away from God. Unfortunately, many who have a bad experience in a cult, end up atheist. (I certainly can understand why), but you see that one should not blame God for some man misrepresenting Him. It fills my heart to know you made it through without losing your belief in a Creator and Love. Hang in there...you are doing fine. These bullies will have to face their Creator one day, and answer for their actions. And...those responsible for turning good people away from God, because of their cult tactics. I just noticed in the thumbnail, past your left shoulder Ally, the man with white hair standing sideways from you shaking hands with another JW, nearest the JW sisters, that's Alan Tripp, one of the elders up here in Marshfield. I believe he's actually the COBE/formerly P.O., plus he's a heavy in Wisconsin on the HLC (Hospital Liaison Committee). He used to actually be a high school English teacher here at the Marshfield Public High School. He usually has a talk part on the conventions and Janesville assemblies.

I notice many witnesses have the attitude of "Jesus will take care of it so I don't need to do anything now." but its not what the governing body, or website promotes at all. There is many articles about taking care of your health because your body's a temple and God gave you your body to do his will. If you don't care for it you cannot do the best work. They talk about how you conduct yourself; dress, speak, take care of your things reflect on Jehovah. So they encourage to do your best in all areas of life! Therefore, I do want to reflect positively on God so I try my best to be clean and have good conduct.

You are absolutely great. And regarding marriage being tough, you nailed it. I've never been a Witness, but a common refrain I hear among JW's who have had family relationships blow up, or leave the Witnesses, they worked very hard at "looking good," Christianity is about "Being Good" (inward transformation - a state of being that then exhibits itself in how we live) which is much harder ... it's about Transformation into what is true, and not "Imitation" of what is true. Does that make sense? Keep up the good heart work!

Hi Alexandra. Just found you on you tube. As far as thinking about not making another video because you do not want to think you make them for self validation, I know exactly what you mean. That is coming from a humble place. You care deeply and it reflects an empathetic personality. This is what I think. Don’t over think it about making another video or not. We are changing daily just like everything around you. Life is never static. Your decision making is never static because you are forever taking in new experiences and understanding. So do not close the door as to how you feel at this moment. Some day you may feel that you want to make another video just because. Relax and go with the flow. Just speak honestly from your heart always and that is all that matters. I appreciated your insight from your video. Thank you. ❤️

Read some of Rob Bell’s work if you haven’t already. His explanation of the Bible is brilliant. You don’t have to throw it away because of problematic verses like many do.

Well - they don't have the spiritual qualifications to do so in a Christian sense and to try to help them come to their senses I wrote the elders a few letters. Here's the final one and in it I reference Joseph:- 8 page letter starts off:- Given you signed off this letter with the words: “Your brothers with all sincerity”. I would like to ask whether you mean brothers in the Christian sense of John 13:35? (John 13:35) By this all will know that you are my disciples, if you have love among yourselves.” Or brothers in the sense of those who were brothers of Joseph before they sold him into slavery? (Genesis 37:23-24) So it came about that as soon as Joseph came to his brothers, they went stripping Joseph of his long garment, even the long striped garment that was upon him; after which they took him and pitched him into the waterpit. . . Given the details in my previous letter, can you understand why I feel that you are more like the brothers of Joseph before they sold him into slavery? Not one of you understands the serious concerns I have about Dan 1:1 and Dan 2:1 and how it affects the 1914 doctrine. Without understanding the matter fully, I suspect you might try to accuse me of twisting the scriptures. That would be prejudiced. Have any one of you voiced such an opinion? Or condoned the expression of such an opinion from the platform in the Kingdom Hall? How can you decide a matter if you do not even understand it? ...Letter ends:- Finally, please remind yourselves what the outcome was for Joseph’s brothers. Joseph really did love them, despite their cruel actions towards him. (Gen 45:4-5). Why not make the full account of Joseph and his brothers the subject of your personal Bible study? I would warmly encourage you to do so. Why? Because all was put right between them when the brothers apologised and the fruitage of their repentance was evidently demonstrated. It proved they were Joseph’s sincere brothers. End of quoting from letter. By the way I did get to speak to a group of men. I did not attend their imaginatively called 'judicial'. Instead I turned up an hour early and addressed them all. One of them shook my hand. Then they all went off and carried out their act of unwarranted hurtfulness. When the chairman called with their ridiculous pronouncement I just said 'Jehovah rebuke you.' Then put the phone down. They have until June 10th to confirm their identity to me as Jehovah's Witness. I’ve Been studying with jahovas witnesses for 8 months now. I love to try and spark curiosity in them from a place of love. I see what they are and what they try and do and sometimes they succeed in straying me a little bit and making me think which I appreciate, it tests my spirit. also the journey of staying grounded in the god that I love and staying connected and pray that he is with me while I study with them so I can be whatever he wills me to be and whatever he wills me to say. It’s a great opportunity to be simply a beacon of love and light which I believe at the end of the day to be safest to the truth than any word. In hopes that they can discover how to be even better jahovas witnesses in service of god. I have a lot of compassion for them as you do and after all you’ve gone through with them you still haven’t giving up on them or let hate or bitterness enter your heart, loving them regardless of the the traditions they honor. Everyone has their place in this world. And my purpose up to this point isn’t to destroy theirs but help them see beyond the illusions of this life so they may or may not unveil it themselves. P.S I was also pulled in by the heart of a pretty girl and was so deeply moved by someone as devoted to god as I believe I am (22) a little part of me is really sad and pray for her often but god will lead those who seek and I have faith she will find what god wills for her to be on this earth. Just a weird experience where I realized that beauty can be infinitely realized just as knowing god can be infinitely discovered beyond our present ability to comprehend or even imagine. And inside of what or who he can touch you through. glory to god.

I was the same way when I was a JW. I tried not to focus on the here and now. I always thought what is the point. However, there were many in the three different congregations I attended over my 23 years in that org that seemed to live and plan and do in “this system” which puzzled me because while I was doing without trying to do what I thought was right, many in the org did indeed seek material things. To me action speak louder than words and many childless married couples had full-time jobs when we were encouraged to get rid of our large homes and fancy cars and live modestly they were not. Glad to be out!

Excellent question re: WT president being legally culpable in child abuse cases. He should be. They (elders/ GoBo ) should be held legally/ criminally accountable for what they have permitted as far as child sex abuse.

Myself and my wife left in April after 27yrs. At first we where like where do we go and we are going to be destroyed! Forward to now! NOPE! We don’t feel like that anymore thanks to ex bro Eric Wilson with his experiences and calm manner in his videos we seen the light! And also JT lady cee and Daniel. Matthew 24:23-27 AND THE 1914 teaching of his invisible presence began, really did it for me!! And also Deuteronomy 18:20-22. Sealed it!! After all their false prophecies.. I bought an older KJV BIBLE. No more religions for us!! I’ll stick to the way the truth and the life so I can gain salvation through his name as he taught us. Nobody goes to the father except through me!! Be brave sister and keep on asking the holy one! truly he is not far off from each one of us!! REALLY TRUE! GB DON’t EVEN KNOW where he is. They got me because I was at the lowest of low points in my life. I was searching. Then I married someone who had several family members in the cult and started studying with one of them. The rest is history 🤦🏼‍♀️

Keep making your videos. Its our devine responsibility to question our faith. If you keep your mouth shut you are letting the blind lead the blind. Being apart of a church has as much value as joining Sam's club. I just want to encourage you to do your best and leave the cult behind, be free, pick a different church to go to each week and attend with a open mind. If you get a chance read the gospel of Thomas. Its one of those books that was cut out of the bible. Its not apostate but it helps makes sense of religious bullshit.

So lots of beards being permitted now in Wisconsin, eh? Maybe this extreme winter weather we had hastened "new light"!🤣 They have a Hmong group last I knew up in one of the Wausau congregations. One of the JW's outside of Marshfield I knew and used to go in service with drives the 35 miles to Wausau several days a week as a "need-greater". It is ironic they highlighted Josiah pulling down all the images and idols Manasseh put up in ancient Israel, yet today JW's don't see the paradoxical hypocrisy of all the "jwdotorg" signs on khalls, t-shirts, pens, ties, or otherwise construable as a "compromise of integrity" as I heard in Chicago a lot as a deep-in JW.
