Hi! Thank you for your message! The small bank has 4 sampled dynamic layers instead of 8. The samples also arrive at their loop sooner than with the long bank, but the loops are very well done so the sound still decays with a natural feel. The small bank still covers all 88 keys. Hi John, I apologize for the delayed reply. Compared to the Motif XF / MOXF version, the Montage version is updated and offers more. With the Montage version, there is a greater variety of sounds, the sustain pedal now controls the damper resonance samples, and there is more real-time control. Hi, thank you for watching. I appreciate your compliments on my music. I agree, being able to express one's emotions musically is a very worthwhile goal. Unfortunately, I cannot estimate how long it would take to learn. It depends on natural skill level, how efficiently a person practices, and the desired skill level to be attained, among other things. Reading music before playing by ear is not essential, but it helped my fingers develop established patterns. Also, I spent a lot of time listening to styles I wanted to emulate.

Hi Chris, thank you for your comment. Certainly, you can simply choose a sound and play. Having sounds that respond to velocity does not require users to press buttons. Each piano video shows the piano sounds responding to velocity at the times no buttons are being pressed. K-Sounds piano sample libraries have thoughtful real-time controller assignments programmed. When you see buttons being pressed, it's probably to demonstrate how real-time controllers can change the sound or bring in different layers. Sometimes, a 61- or 76-key keyboard may be shown, and you might see the octave shift buttons being pressed to access very high or very low notes. If you're curious about why a button is pressed at a specific time in a specific video, let me know. I'm happy to describe what the button is doing. K-Sounds Oh right! Thank you for responding. I had been reading the manuals on your website but I couldn’t account for the button presses, but an octave shift would make complete sense. I am genuinely curious about your libraries, particularly for the Triton Rack. There’s a big difference in file sizes between the Triton, Motif and Kronos version, and although I’m aware the a Triton is pretty old now, it’s difficult to gauge from the audio clips on your website alone what it’s like in contrast to the later synth versions. VST pianos are nice, but there’s always latency which is infuriating, so I’ve been looking around for what’s available for the Triton Rack. I would have to buy some form of SCSI drive it would seem, as well as the SCSI card, so I’ve been trying to find some videos to help me decide whether to bite the Bullet on Epic Piano. Hi Chris, thank you for your reply. I'm sorry mine is so delayed. I just saw your reply. Yes, there is a big difference in file sizes when comparing the Triton version of Epic Grand to the Kronos version or the large banks of the Yamaha versions. Despite its small footprint, the Triton version is very musical and playable. The character of the audio is the same as with the larger versions because all versions are derived from a common set of samples. The Triton Rack's maximum of 96Mb RAM isn't enough for extremely long samples, but the samples are still long enough and the loops are very well done so that note decay sounds natural. To save RAM, release resonance and hammer noise samples are not included, but sampled damper resonance IS included. Damper resonance makes the biggest difference in the sound. Thank you for your message. Epic Grand provides two bank sizes: 125Mb and 504Mb. When conserving space is necessary, the 125Mb bank is very useful. Simply loading individual sounds from the larger bank would not conserve space because all the piano performances in the bank use the same set of core samples. Even the 125Mb bank sounds fantastic. Si eso no funciona, intente formatear la unidad flash en el Montage antes de conectarlo a su computadora para copiar los archivos de formato de Montage.
