The right way to bleed the coolant system on a K is with a coolant vacuum purge and refill kit. First attach the kit to the radiator and it sucks all the air out of the system. Then 3-4 gallons of coolant in a bucket w/the vacuum refill hose in it. Turn the valve and it will suck up all the coolant from the bucket, done.
Big ass noob The civic I'm buying is an automatic I want a standard but I can't find one forsale within 400 miles of me. Is this going to be a big problem with anything? It's 1990 civic almost everything is stock rn and it has close to 300,000 miles on it I'm buying it for 200$ figured this would be a perfect way to learn a thing or too about cars low risk and low cost becuse I have 2 main vehicles anyways. I recently did a k swap in my em1 . Everything worked fine until I pulled my intake mani . I put everything back together and now my rpms don’t work . Any idea ?
Very nice video! I may be a little late to the party, but i hope i can ask you a few questions. I drove a CRX when i was younger, then bought a civic 88-91 which i planned on having some fun with. Alas i had an accident at work, broke my back and ended up in a wheelchair. I definitely want to have some more fun in a Honda before i cruise down the highway to heaven. Anyways; due to my situation, I'm limited to an automatic gearbox. Since (understandable) no-one wants an automatic K-swap, i can find very little information on this online. Do you happen to know if for example a K-24 automatic into a Civic EG would be possible at all? if not, a k20? Or would automatic just not work at all? If you happen to have some knowledge, information, or links on the subject, would be highly appreciated!
How to run PS and AC in EG Kswap? I have been searching top and bottom on forums, FB, personal contacts, RU-vid etc. to figure this out. I am ordering my entire parts list this week to complete my car. This is the final detail I need to work out. I want to run the DC5 AC tuck kit running with KTuned EP3 pulley. Would the hybrid racing PS conversion kit work with DC5 tuck & KTuned EP3 Pulley?

I keep hearing over and over again on the web about using parts from an RSX type S. Where in the world are you gonna find them because I believe those cars are pretty rare? Are there a lot of aftermarket parts being used or what?
i dont know much about engine swaps and this may be a stupid question. here it goes if i wanted to put a k24a2 into a ef 1988 civic thats carbureted not fuel injection does that complicate the wiring harness? since im removing the engine i would assume not but when it comes to wiring i have no idea if the ef civic being carbed will affect anything. please feel free to explain yourself on every lil detail. ( i have no idea what im talking about or doing i just know i have a strong urge to put a k24a2 into my lil civic :)
What if I picked up a free k24A4 and I’m planning on swapping the head doing a k20 head what trans and ecu would I use there also would you recommend me to build it ?
Question…. On my k-24A2 swap the engine sits low as you may know, so without even lowering the car, the cv axles are already at an angle and I feel that they might be causing some kind of vibrations or just funny business with driving characteristics. Almost every suspension component is new and 90% of the bushings are newly replaced so there is little discrepancy when filtering out what is making what vibration. The steering wheel feedback is very minimal and almost no feedback at all which odds are good thing. Is there anything that swappers do to help get the cv axles as close to 180° as possible? That’s for response in advance.
Hey I know your a super busy guy and I am a nobody but hope I get my message to you.. I am in process of wanting to do my first swap on my 95 honda accord ex. It was auto but I did a manual swap myself. I am clueless to the harness part I know I have a obd1 car so if I go with a obd1 swap will it be plug and play? If I go obd2 f20b or h23a which I really want to do.. what will I have to do to my wire harness to plug into the motor? And what else would I have to do? I heard i need to convert the distributor to obd1?? How would I do that just swap it out to a obd1 dizzy?? Or can I wire it up from my stock harness to plug into the dizzy? What else is there? I am so close to getting a h23a1 block with h22 vtec head.. I really want to learn how to do this myself.. I learned the manual swap myself and it works great. But there was no wiring.. so it was easy..
neighbor k24 swapped eg but bogs out when you rev up.any common issues you seen?its a tsx k24/kpro harness and i think hondata kpro ecu i think he said from 02-04 rsx base model. after scanning it had o2 codes/coolant temp and i think it said "communication network" as another code
Why Not megasquirt the engine? Honda guys always doing the craziest mixing and matching of parts... and i feel like they always stay in the bounds of using OEM or modified oem stuff. Id rather use Holley efi or Haltech... or even megasquirt... than honda ecus
anyone got any good links on how much HP/WHP a k20a2 can make and still be reliable with stock internals???? I have heard different things. When i first got my car i swear i found a link saying guys were pushing 390 on stock internals. Im assuming its whp on the dyno. now i see some shit saying 320.......if 320 is the max im question if i would be better off just getting stage 2 or stage 3 cams instead of a turbo.......a supercharger would be cool but i think i would be better off building the engine first...
I’m thinking about taking a integra shell and a 2015 Honda Civic si or a rsx type s and swap it in there. I want a k series engine that revs the highest. Can I use that ecu, and shifter clearance be a issue?

Moral of the story: K swaps are overrated and aren't worth the time, effort, money and confusion for what you are getting. I slapped a supercharger on my H22A with port-matched everything and wild cams. No engine swaps for me. Work with the engine that you have, you'll be happier in the end. I went down the K-swap rabbit hole three different times, its not worth it. I'd rather live with a weak F22 motor than to do another K-swap. ABSOLUTE WASTE OF TIME, EFFORT AND MONEY! I can't stress that enough.
Doing lots and lots research before I make my final decision. I just wanted to know is the K24A JDM with the 3 Lobe 200HP good for Cali legality and is it just as difficult/easy to install
