I read quite well. The original poster intended to mean that the civic was too slow, so the driver would use a non-existent mechanical failure as an excuse. In reality, he just missed a gear.
im a honda guy but i dont know who thought that first race was gonna be a good one lol. gotta love how win or lose tho the comments section is filled with honda hate. you all sit at a keyboard and bash peoples hard work and some sad how that makes you feel good about yourselves. different strokes guys, there is different classes and kinds of racing believe it or not, just because things are a second faster or slower doesnt mean anyone should bash anyone else' hard work. i know we are big kids playing with big toys but some folks will never grow up.

Agreed, it's a lot of set up to get the HP to the ground. Then gearing it right. Getting as much weight out of the car as you can...maximize the power you do have. The Camaro is heavy and geared way too tall. The civic is great for the eighth mile, go-cart like, light, snappy power. I just don't want to be scene in one...

Imo that's a fairly feminine trait, but im the function over form type of guy, and i drive a coupe not a hatch and they're not nearly as many like mine so i understand were people don't like the style of the all too popular models.

As for turning wrenches, I have to admit, while changing the tie-rods and ends on my truck I did wear mechanics gloves. If it's brakes, I wear rubber gloves. I try to work clean on my stuff, spray everything and wipe it down, wire brush, I make sure everything goes together nice, torqued correctly, like a real mechanic...

That civic needs a new transmission. And it should be a good race. BTW it's 2.0 vs 6.0 v8 come on now. Mad respect for Hondas racing v8 and all motor 2.0 liter na. They are civics running 10 sec on stock k20 All motor. No spray.
N/a = naturally aspirated. H and k series are custom racing motors. Y'all pussies are running all forged custom racing motors against naturally aspirated street motors and think you're something. But at the end of the day don't matter what h or k series you have it will not beat a fully built v8
They do it to keep them straight. The crown in the road makes the cars shift to one side or the other. This helps keep them straight to lay down rubber for traction. And I doubt anyone will get an arm ripped off. Hasn't happened in decades of street racing.

the best friend know what you have a k20 from the 2006 rsx type s has a 6 speed tranny with 210 hp it revs to 8600 rpm in a 1995 civic cx it does the 1/4 mile in 12 sec flat and it would run 300k why would u want anything else a 2006 rsx type s can cost 3-4k do the swap ourself plus 1k civic intake exhaust headers kpro tune and bamm 11sec all day on atreet tires
Live and let live, I work with dudes who love V8s and I'm an Asian 4 banger kind of a guy, we joke and make fun but nobody seriously fights over this shit. Then again I work with professional mechanics who understand a car is a car and a manufacturer always has its ups and its downs, and not everyone needs the fastest car and the best looking car. Cars really aren't shit compared to aircraft so it helps to put them in perspective

At some level Hondas are nothing more than a chassis with a 4 banger if they want to match a mild built V8, Put the same percentage of work into a V8 that a Honda has and its a given that a v8 more than likely with a complete interior will win. Not only that Hondas are constantly being upgraded with the newer gens engines when was the last time you saw an older Camaro with a newer L92? Its always who puts more money into the car but aside from that Id rather drive a presentable complete V8 than a gutted Honda.
