i love how impa is so wise but still has a great sense of humor, like when she tells you about your memories but also tells you that paya's birthmark is on her left buttcheek
Happens in a surprising amount of the live performance pieces. I think I've noticed it as far back as galaxy, though the only one I can think of off the top of my head is the ambient Tostarena music in Odyssey. I think the Tostarena Ruins music too, you might be able to hear it
For some reason, I love reading the comment section for these songs. It's kinda where experienced players and noobs (like me) come together to appreciate true greatness at its greatest.
I love the more tired nature of this version over the day version. So calming and tender, but exhausted like a kakariko farmer after a hard day of work in the gorgeous sun.
Why did you do it? SS Link: I did it to save the girl I love. TP Link: I did it to save my friends. WW Link: I did it to save my sister. OoT Link: I did it because a tree told me to do it. MM Link: I did it to save the world!! BotW Link: I just woke up and then I had to do something??
While you can always replay it, you will never have the experience of experiencing and taking everything in for the first time again. It sucks that you can't have the sense of exploration, wonder, or mystery again in the same way.
Espartiskills my favourite thing to do with games like this is to not play them for a while and forget about them. And when I find them again, I can feel the excitement just like I was playing for the first time!
For games like these I usually play them and wait about 2 years to replay them. By then, a lot of the smaller details will have been forgotten and I can rediscover everything brand new!
that shrine quest where you sneakily follow dorian around without being caught, fight the yiga blademaster, and learn the tragic backstory of dorian and his family...it was difficult the first time around, not gonna lie, but it was such a great quest and i’m glad they included it
This song has always been special to me because while in my first stages in the game kakariko village was always my hangout space at night and little noob me kept my horse there because it didn’t occur to me I could put it in a stable. Soo yea... Love it
The fact they recorded differing versions of the area theme songs based on day/night cycles shows the absolute love and care that went into crafting a truly believable living world. The people there live and work, and play and feel, and remember. The way we do.
I bought BOTW today! Admittedly, I do have it on WiiU but my sister has the WiiU in her room all the time. Its arriving tomorrow so I can't wait to play it all over again, and get all the shrines again
I think this is the peak of video games I don't think anything can possibly come close to this amazing game I have played the best titles in my life like Super smash Bros brawl, Zelda twilight princess, Minecraft, Terraria, and others, but no game has made me have a feeling like this game. When I went to sleep after I beat the game I just couldn't sleep I kept just thinking about how it was so amazing. This game truly gives you a feeling that nothing can ever give. Gosh damn Nintendo you deserve more credit.
I remember playing this in the evening, when I had my driving test the following morning. Felt relaxing while playing and exploring, but when it came to turning the game off I started feeling a little anxious. Good thing I passed or I'd probably still dread this theme.
*over by the pedestal* “Woah, what’s this?” “You gotta put something in it” “What do I do?” “You’ll know what it is when you see it” *proceeds to grab every rock in the surrounding area and put it in the hole*
I first encountered Kakariko at night. It eerie was entering the village when most people were asleep and seeing elder Impa's house lit up in the distance.
@Ross the Chihuahua ^ No, this is unmistakably Japanese traditional music. You have playing the koto, the shakuhachi, and block-like percussion instruments I can't quite conceive the name of right now. But this is the genius of the music makers at Nintendo. The music is in a Japanese scale which is different from the scales of music you hear in China (though both scales are based in pentatonicism, five note scales).
I don't know why, but villages in Zelda games are always the best at night. Relaxing, but also super mysterious. What I like the most is the side quests that only occure at night. Like finding the missing orb thing and unlock a new shrine. Or in Wind Waker, catch the girl who has been stealing from the small shop on Windfall Island. Or in Majora's Mask catch the thief that robs the old lady. Zelda has probably been one of Nintendo's greatest creations.
I bought my Switch in 2019 and then I got to play Botw in 2020, a constant complain I heard about the game was that "the soundtrack was awful" like what the fuck? the soundtrack is superb
Waterlemonea Big papaya was talking about a lady in the village that sneaks out at night to morn the death of her husband. It wasn’t her though… complete all the side quests in the village and then the secret shrine quest
When you're feeling all alone, The world's a drone, And nobody's shown any love to you! When your heart is cold as stone, Just change your tone! Get rid of that groan and the world will too! I like this more, it represents the current Sheikah: Given up their ways, not experimenting with their Technology, in a hidden village somewhere in a weary world under control of Ganon
Ngl I kinda likes it in wind waker and ocarina of time where there was no night theme bc it just seemed more like relaxed and it made you want to be there in the day (like you would in real life) and there was less excitement.
Listening to this while I'm trying to sneak those two suspects who were allegedly stole the orb. Until there this one guy who is missing at the post...
The central flute section, especially on a higher pitch like at 1:40, really reminds me of the soul classic People Make The World Go Round by the Stylistics' chorus (ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-2owZXPyeilc.html)
since the music fades in as you get into a certain distance from the village, it may be too quiet to hear if you're doing something in the area and then decide to go into the village
