I saw Loverboy open for The Who. John Cougar also opened and got hit in the head with a bottle of Jack Daniel's. He came back out in a few minutes wearing a hard hat and sang Hurts So Good. Ah, the good ole days.
@mechanic6682 That's a great story! I might have thought John Cougar wouldn't have been such a good sport! He can be a grumpy rocker! "I Need a Lover," just an anthem for a generation. I'm sure it's me, but I don't really hear great stuff like that these days.
The Big Four: Kansas, Styx, Foreigner and Journey. All were producing simultaneously - and presenting on world tours - some of the greatest rock music we know. It was an amazing time to be alive.
Just saw Styx at Jones Beach Long Island, now im going to see Kansas , also on Long Island . Brookville... Last time I saw them was in ROANOKE, like "93?
That's not Steve Walsh. Steve Walsh was one of the most exceptional voices in rock history 💯 Kansas beloved worldwide they filled stadiums all over the world , musical geniuses. ❤️⚡
Thank for sharing your video. So many of us are thousands miles away. I've been seeing so many concerts. Im so jealous. I just saw another video, Lover Boy in concert July 2023. Rock on. Mahalo (thank you) and Aloha From the island of Oahu. The Westside
Fun fact of the day. Less than 10 years ago the new front man was a dump truck driver in Chicago. Seen them in Peoria Illinois a few years ago, sounded great!!
Got to meet and hang with them back in the early 90s when Steve and Kerry and Dave all were still in the band. They all are nice humble guys would never know that they are the rock gods that they are
I remember seeing them in concert for the "The Point of No Return Tour" back in the 70's. The first time spinning the record you just knew you were experiencing great music.
Also nice to see that they still have voices and energy... Lots of bands and singers trying to make comebacks and they are Motley horrible... #BonJovi...
phil and rich and...some dudes. billy is great, and if streets had hit like they should have, somebody else would be playing bass. billy's an amazing singer too- sounds so much like walsh it's uncanny.
Wow, they sound almost exactly like how I heard them on festival seating in a gym my freshman year with a streaker behind them. 1973 at Eastern Illinois
The drum parts to Kansas songs are informing And unforgiving (for drum enthusiasts)!!! I agree with Garth Brooks description in that he plays drums like musical notes covering rhythm and melody notes combined…. Very Crafty.
I saw them back in the day at the Convention Center and Market Square Arena Old Dudes still Rocking in 2023 live fast die young and leave a good looking corpse guess we lived fast but did not leave a good looking corpse still walking around Old and still alive TECH 1974
@@markjohnsondrummer3144 the band died on that tour with leroux. thanks a lot jeff pollard. he screwed kerry's head up bad. ruined his own band too. leroux was incredible, and jeff was the lead vox/lead guitar (split). i learned a lot of what i know from kerry and steve, so this is painful to listen to. steve morse didn't stick around long- small wonder...
Kerry had a massive stroke many years ago. I heard he’s doing well. Not sure if he can play guitar anymore. I hope he recovered enough to be able to play again.
