Once you finish the forceful exhalation for a set you exhale all the breath out. Do you apply mula bandha and then inhale and hold, or inhale, apply mula bandha and then hold? You did it both ways in the video
Advanced practice would place bandha either during the exhale or continuously holding. It also moves away from external structures (perineum) as the lock is completely internal, using force (squeezing or lifting the Anus and perineum) actually inhibits the true lock. It's also important to note that mula bandha is higher up in women than in men. It's at the base of the cervix for women.
@@buildyourownhuman I found out exactly what you mean today. I stopped forcing it and gently applied it at pereneum area, and felt it. Even underneath the navel started sucking in slightly. I used to forcefully contract the Anus, genitals and stomach. I think I have gotten even further in my practice! Beautiful.
This guy is amazing. He actually speaks as if he is in the room with just you. So I was a meth addict for many years. In & out of prison and always on parole or probation. Haven't been to prison in some time now but Very recently, I stopped using methamphetamine. I found a channel called "breathe with Sandy." Ive done his videos over 300 times. I owe that gentleman my life but doing his content that many times, I found I was starting to hit a "wall" within my growth. Therefore, just today i went off my usual routine & found this channel. quite invigorating to say the least. Your techniques are flawless and content is absolutely amazing. Thank you my good sir
I used to perform this pranayama first. Next I would perform alternate nostril breathing. Finally, I would finish with the bhastrika, or bellows breath, with all three locks at the end. You can literally make yourself feel high naturally doing this in the morning when the sun comes up where the air is fresh like at a park where there are plenty of trees and grass.
So true. I was doing a similar routine when i needed to heal my thyroid and after a year of practice and proper plant-based diet i no longer take medication. I am so proud of myself 😀
Yours a similar to this video, I use this video everyday for the timed breathing. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-BSvPAWgQDF0.htmlsi=iUeAchk6EPL_rx3f Do you have a better suggestion ?

@@TheSchoolofBreath Ahemmmm....I did the exercise for 3 days and my lower back developed exquisite pain as though somebody beat me up with 4x4 real good. OUCH....OUCH...OUCH What did I do wrong??? Am almost 83 ,in perfect health
@@TheSchoolofBreath About 12 years ago.i did a breathing exercise similar to this one , for perhaps a month. After that I tapered my practice down to zeroThat time , I only knew about Pranayama breathing What i did was not pranayama breathing but ""home made " my kundalini immediately woke up , and i started to get out of my body at night. ...in my angelic self ,complete with massive wings of light. Or. I would be a massive orb of white light. It lasted many years I visited all the dimensions including Hell the new Earth . Also, my religious beliefs were wiped out. Then , my physical body emitted light Like a Iight bulb twice only. After some years these phenomena dissipated ,bc i had stopped this breathing exercises. At that time , I actually did not know what was causing these physical glitches until I read this article. 🤣
Thank you for your feedback Catherine. Please let us know anything you would like to see more of. Sending much love and blessings. Have a wonderful New Year!
Wow, so with the mudra the practice is more effective? I am new to mudra practice and this one seems easy to do but you were right, its hard to isolate these muscles. I'll keep practicing this seems very promising. Thanks.

Cool and pleasant! Keep up the good work. Pls include explicit instructions related to releasing the locks between holding and breath normally Thank you 🙏
Hi there, thank you for connecting. Please take a look at this video fro detailed instructions on the breath holds and let us know if you find it helpful. Sending many blessings ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-GkNsSXVLDHo.htmlsi=rN3THxhn2lIbSdrA
Can some one please tell me the background sound is from which music that Tabla and flute is really cool. @TheSchoolofBreath I would lke to play that also in my meditation and pranayama time.
@TheSchoolofBreath Hi, there are many kinds of music Could you please tell me which music it would be really helpful. I love this background music so much. I have gone through not being able to find.
The only thing I do differently is after the pump. I take a deep breath then hold it. After that I slowly release the breath feeling ton of energy. Images and geomatic light patterns appear with bright color with my eyes close. Why does no one talk about this that teaches the breath of fire.
Yes lots of beautiful experiences unfold in terms of colors and patterns and even celestial sounds if you plug the ears (nada). However, these are very personal and vary from each person and not sure if this is a good platform. However, soon we will create a membership section for people who want to go deeper into the subtle aspects of meditations. Much love and blessings Abhi 🙏
While holding the breath You have to carry out moola bandha and Jaalandhara bandha. After some time breath out and release jalandhara bandha do Uddiyaana bandha . Ultimately release Moola bandha ,then relax.
Thanks for tuning here and leaving us feedback. Please keep us updated about your progress on your path of well-being. Sending much love and blessings. Cheers! Abhi 🙏❤️
Goin through menopause……🙄 The belly fat thing is a real bummer. I’m a thin woman but these days there’s this awful bloat, not into it. So, I’m going to try this practice and hopefully it will BURN that weirdness off 😄 Let’s breathe! ❤
@@TheSchoolofBreath Yes, was recommended your video of bramari as well, and they both are great additions to the regular routine. I remember when I first started the traditional morning pranayama routine, I was thinking it was such a blessing I had it in my life. and eventually your videos came in my life to strengthen that process, so more blessings. Energy goes where attention flows and I am grateful
Thanks for connecting with us here. This video explains different breathing techniques ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-MFDMi-seHBw.htmlsi=75anpjFE7n2DlJSj Would love your feedback .. cheers Abhi
Thank you Abhi, Wonderful breathing technique which is exactly what I need for strengthening my lungs, helping to heal digestion and increasing the fire in my belly. My wife has joined me in the practice and we are loving it so much we are wondering is this the full practice of Kapalbhatti to do daily or is there a longer more advanced method as I feel I would like to continue when it's finished as we love it so much. Thank you again, you are having a very big impact. Jasen
This is wonderful. Thank you so much. Can you please help me with why my back is hurting while doing the breath of fire? It does help to go slower, but is there anything else I could be aware of that might help? 🙏🏼
Many different ones I can recommend based on knowing you a little bit more. How old are you? What's your yoga journey like? What are your goals? (Physical, emotional, spiritual) What part of the world are you based in climate? Sending blessings. Cheers! Abhi 🙏
Hi sunny This normally shouldn't be done more than 7 minutes in one sitting. What is your experience with breathing exercises ? Do you consider yourself beginner , inter or advance ? It´s more important to do this everyday than longer in one sitting. Cheers Abhi
Pranayama breathing will help you in every area of your health and energy. However, weight gain is best accomplished by resistance training such as weight lifting or even body weight exercises like calisthenics, and then eating a good amount of protein throughout the day especially after resistance training. I was also skinny when I was younger.
@@deepakadhiraaijog7387 Yes, I always performed various exercises, but I made sure to include resistance exercises to gain muscle size and definition. Supplementing with protein and creatine also helps a lot.
Kapalbhati can assist in weight gain as it stimulates your abdominal organs and improves your metabolism. But in your case you have too much fire element. Please try Prithvi mudra as it helps with gaining weight with increased earth element.
Hi there, we've tagged yoga and meditation products at the beginning of the video, on the bottom left corner of the video screen. Please take a look and see if those work for you. Hope this helps. Sending love and blessings ❤🙏
Hello, thank you for your response. I have watched the video a few times over, but I did not see any link in the beginning. Could you please tell me what timing this is shown in the video? I would love to buy such cushion for my mom. Thank you in advance ❤

My natural breathing is so slow. Usually like 3-4 breaths a minute. This beginner version is super hard for me. I barely get in any air for there to be an exhale. I will practice and maybe practice at an slower speed. Thank you!
Understood ! Great job on trying this. Please do it at your speed for some time and naturally you will see the practice becoming faster and more effective. Thanks for connecting here. Sending much love and blessings my friend Cheers Abhi
This video was recorded in Lima, Peru. We are here for a month working on beautiful projects with the team. We have a sleep app coming up soon. Stay updated on our website: www.meditatewithabhi.com/
Yes agreed ! Thanks for connecting with us here. It brings the fire element up. I would recommend doing Diaphragmatic breathing for hypertension. Sir i want to meet Sri Sri Mahavatar Babaji Maharaj & surrender to Him forever. How can i do it ? Also pls. make an vdo on Kriya Yoga & techniques of VIJNANA BHAIRAVA.
Great practice, well explained. I understand having commercials at the beginning and at the end of the video, but to allow them to kick in right in the middle of the practice is quite annoying
kapalabhay does not mean skull shining SO when the sucessive exhalations and passively inhalation a yoga of the first order directs his energy towards the skull where the energy this charged upwards glow and avwise yoga attains the stage of samadhi thanks
Yes ofcourse ! Pranayama can be done without asana however yoga and pranayama complement each other. Sometimes when I have less time I only engage in pranayama. Cheers and blessings, Abhi ❤️🙏
Thank you for the clear explanation. Does this help to gain weight? I heard prana mudra and prithvi mudra help gaining weight. I started doing prana mudra. I feel alot better since I started this mudra. But most people have mentioned about the prithvi mudra to gain weight. Now I am confused. Which mudra should I really do to gain weight and how long should I practice this per day? Thanks!
Yes might not help with the weight gain initially but in the long run this will balance the pitta element and help in keeping the weight steady. Yes In fact Prithvi mudra (please checkout the video on mudras in our playlist) is the best for gaining weight also please combine with proper diet (include good fat avocado etc) and of-course love your body however it is now. Sending love and blessings
Here is an explanation on the energy locks and significance. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-FiHBk-Zo5sA.htmlsi=RyiWZD3hzBs16tmT Blessings my friend. Cheers Abhi 🙏
Hi there, thanks for the question. You breathe in and out each time you inhale and exhale . Not just one breath. Hope that clarifies the question. Sending blessings, Abhi 🙏
Hi there, you can practice this early evening before dinner but not too close to bed time. Hope this helps. Let us know your experience The School of Breath Team
