Kapchorwa - The rise of Ugandan distance running. An in depth look at how the area around Kapchorwa and the runners it has produced, have led to a rise in standards, producing talents such as Joshua Cheptegei.
I was in Kween District/Kapchorwa last year and witnessed the athletes first hand. I was very impressed with the training and dedication of the athletes doing their routines every day. One stopped and talked to us one afternoon after doing hill repeats and it was very cool being able to talk to him. I wish the Uganda running teams the best!
I had not cried for a very long time until I watched this documentary. I guess it is because I ve witnessed like them those challenges. I ran bare footed in Chemwania when I was I still young. I am no athlete now but I want to be positive like them in where I am so that I can do some thing for my people one day. Thank u kiprotich and cheptegei
It is all about the philosophy, if you follow it, whatever field you are in, you will succeed. Please watch Eluids Oxford Union talk, it inspired me! I got all A*s in my A-Levels in Maths Further Maths and Physics and now I am going to train in Oxford as an engineer. I was terrible at maths but always wanted to be an engineer, Eluid's talk changed my life, please watch it! All the best Solimo and God's speed!
Love the sense of simple life of those Athletes guided by God & faith, love their sense of community, love their sense of purpose, hard work to pursuit greatness in a humble way, I love the purpose of a mission to accomplish & achieve it. Amazing video NN Running Team, as always

I feel like going and work a little harder on my task for the day. I am not a runner but the lesson is the same no matter what the task that you are facing. I wish the people of Kapchorwa all of the luck in the world.
Well done keeping your faith in Jesus you will all achieve your goals. As Ugandan we are proud of you all and your community. I think completion in primary schools should be brought back in Uganda. And the country encourage development of talented children to grow and make Uganda proud as you people have done. Karomajo people if taught and encourage Uganda can produce world first class long jumpers and hurdles . May God blessed you all Ugandan heroes
I'm always amazed by the raw documentaries that NN is putting out there! To me, it perfectly demonstrates that a simplified lifestyle CAN equal great success & positive influence. Also: Can anyone tell what "style" of music - I assume it's something rural - was playing towards the end of this video? I'm absolutely in love with it!
Joshua keptegie is a going to archive lot of things.. He's still young with a lot of talent. I think his greatness will surpass that of Eluid kipchoge..
Wow, so moving and natural! To see the dreams of people and talents not only coming true but inspired and nurtured . Keep up guys..Stephen and Joshua. I love that area too. The future is indeed bright 🌞....That run in Amsterdam recently by Stephen can tell how determination rules over. Joshua you are just the Goat of it all. Much love and Thanks to NN global sports 🙏
How can Ugandan not know about parts of districts in Uganda? What are the geography teachers doing with Ugandan education shame on those who are not interested to learn about other parts of Uganda. We are all Ugandan we should be together and interested to all part of the country.
Making music together...the steps of the heartbeat improving. Spiffy Nike jackets...nice to know Nike heps out. Exposure to the healthy sport and maybe competitive. Good stuff! As an older runner...I remember when Mexicans dominated often in the marathon. Ugandan has persevered over a lot and why not run sport~Good Luck! Practice Passion for the sport.
I think East Africa should just be one country....Uganda is exactly like Kenya, Rwanda, Burundi and Tanzania. Imagine how we could demolish these sports as one nation.
IF Haile Gebrselassie and Kenenisa had the wavelights pacing system back then, they would have put the world records out of sight. The records they set would have been way beyond the cosmic horizon
