Nick Wright has been slowly unveiling his Top 50 players of the last 50 years over these past few weeks. Now that we're finally at the Top 3, he makes an 'audacious' statement by putting Michael Jordan at No. 3 behind LeBron James and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. Chris Broussard is not here for the ranking, but Nick explains that once you look at the numbers, it's the only logical choice.

Nick has to b like the most delusional LeBron fan ever.. Like Kareem played more games than any player that has ever played.. Kareem won 5 rings with Magic leading the way.. Got sweep twice with Worthy n Magic..his last few years..he couldn't run down the floor..it's was like watching your grandpa trying play gym ball with 25 year old in their prime..n lebron so overrated..like ray Allen said..he not the most complete player Jordan, Kobe, Bird or Hakeem were in they prime.. Individual he light a torch wit Mj or Wilt.. He never seen a 3 peat in his life..he depends to much on other players to finish the job for him..When Magic, Kareem, Mj, Kobe, Bird, n others where known to do alone when it was time.. Lebron hasn't pass Kobe n Duncan in my eyes..he not even a top 5 Goat yet.. 1.Mj 2.Kobe 3.Magic 4.Kareem 5. Bill Russell 6.Duncan 7.Lebron 8.Bird 9.Shaq 10.Steph

Well, his point is valid. Are we talking about his skills, his career (his total body of work), or are we talking about 6 specific seasons in someone's career? I actually love MJ, and I'm with you on skills and efficiency, but it is true that he abandoned arguably the best team ever for personal reasons. We give Kyrie heat for wat he's done his past few years, well MJ did the same thing guys. It matters, and I'm not saying yall are wrong. But it matters. If I get to draft a guy for 1 year, I pick MJ. BUT IF ITS HIS WHOLE CAREER, 20 YEARS LONG, ITS LEBRON AND KAREEM. Basketball matters to those two, and they did everything they could to win EVERY SINGLE YEAR. That's not only inspiring, it's wat makes a man a GOAT at his craft. Agree or not, it's the truth and you can do wat you will.

The GOAT question should not even be any form of debate Lebron had everything to over achieve Jordan but he stumbled and fell because he just lacked the extra spoon of special sauce. For Lebron Pride simply came before the fall. The moment Lebron felt in his heart he was the Goat is where he fell. Now hes going to end his career with less chips and a points record and the bitter taste that its quite possible in the next 5 years Little Steph Curry will likley eclipse his legacy at this rate.

My favorite MJ fact that not many ppl know: Jordan was age 38 turning 39 during his 1st year with the Wizards. A year older than current Lebron. During that 1st year with the Wizards Jordan averaged : 22.9 PPG 5.7 RPG 5.2 APG .416 FG% .790 FT% However, for his first 46 (pre-injury) games, he averaged: 25.1 PPG 6.2 RPG 5.3 APG .420 FG% .790 FT% in 36.8 MPG And his last 14 (post-injury) games, he averaged: 15.7 PPG 3.8 RPG 4.8 APG .391 FG% .787 FT% in 28.4 MPG What I found most interesting though is that as the season progressed and MJ played himself into shape and shook off the 3 year retirement rust - he was playing better and better. For his last 20 games pre-injury he averaged : 27.5 PPG 6.4 RPG 5.2 APG .440 FG% And for his last 10 games pre-injury he averaged a blistering : 29.7 PPG 6.6 RPG 6.1 APG .470 FG% Those are some crazy, crazy numbers for a dude who at this point was a month or two away from being 39 years old and coming back after three years removed from the game of basketball - and during early 2000s when it was a much slower pace than today's NBA.

In the 1975 season (38-44), the Bucks were 9th in offense, 8th in defense, 8th in net rating, 13th in points scored per game & 5th in points allowed per game. Kareem only played the last 65 of 82 games where they were 35-30 with him & 3-14 without him in the first 17 games of the season. They finished 4th in the Midwest Division & tied for 6th in the conference. It should be noted that the DET Pistons in their division @40-42 & NYK in the Atlantic Division in the East @40-42 both made the playoffs as the final seed (5th). Kareem averaged 30/14/4/1/3 in 42 MPG on 51% FG (13/24 per game) & 76% FT (5/7 per game) coming in 5th in MVP Kareem was 3rd in PPG, 5th in RPG, 1st in BPG, T-18th in APG, T-16th in SPG, 3rd in BLK%, 9th in TREB%, 4th in DREB%, 4th in EFG%, T-11th in TS%, 2nd in MPG, 2nd in WS (6th in OWS-8th in DWS), & T-5th in Defensive Rating that season. 🤷🏾‍♂️ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ In the 1976 season (40-42), the Lakers were 7th of 18 in offense & 13th of 18 in defense; scoring the 3rd most PPG while giving up the 17th most. However, this team had a better record than 2 West teams in the Midwest Division-38-44 Bucks & 36-46 Pistons who made the playoffs as they were the top 2 in that division. The Suns in comparison were 42-40; 3rd in the Pacific Division and the 3rd seed in the West. Kareem also averaged 28/17/5/2/4 in 41 MPG on 53% FG (11/21 per game) & 70% FT (6/8 per game) with no All Star help that season 🤫 Taking home the MVP that year Kareem was ranked 2nd in PPG, *1st in RPG* , 11th in APG, T-11th in SPG, *1st in BPG* , 2nd in BLK%, 3rd in TREB%, 2nd in DREB%, 5th in EFG%, 8th in TS%, *1st in MPG* , *1st in OWS & DWS* , & T-2nd in Defensive Rating. ******************************** Firstly there was 18 teams-not 16 which is the reason why the 1st seeds in each conference had a bye to the ECSF & WCSF respectively to face the winner of the 4/5 matchup. 5 teams each make the playoffs in each conference-so 10/18 teams make the playoffs. 10 of 18 teams in 1976 were under .500, ranging from 40-42 LA Lakers & *Eastern Conference* HOU Rockets to Western Conference Chicago Bulls @ 24-58. At the time both conferences were separated by 2 divisions. In the West, all the 4 Midwest Division teams had a worst record than the Lakers. The Lakers *(4th in Pacific, 4th in West)* had a better record than 2 West teams in the Midwest Division- 38-44 Bucks *(1st in Midwest, 5th in West)* & 36-46 Pistons *(2nd in Midwest, 7th in West)* who made the playoffs as they were the top 2 in that division--but were the 4th & 5th seeds in the West First Round Playoff facing against each other 🤔 The Suns in comparison were 42-40 *(3rd in Pacific, 3rd in West)* Prior to 2005, NBA division champions were seeded higher than the other teams in their conference, regardless of their record. Prior to 2004, when the NBA was aligned into two conferences with two divisions each, the division champions were guaranteed the top two seeds. This meant that top two teams in a conference (by record) would be seeded either first and second (if they were in opposite divisions) or first and third (if they were in the same division). Because of the NBA playoffs' preset matchups in the second round, this meant that the top two teams in a conference could never meet until the conference finals, assuming they both made it to that round. ******************************** First off the NBA went to 4 divisions across 2 conferences for the first time in 1971 with an increased number of teams. In 1970, there was 14 teams separated by 2 conferences *(East & West)* In 1971, there was 17 teams separated by 4 divisions into 2 conferences *(East: Atlantic & Central, West: Midwest & Pacific)* Eight teams still qualified, four from each conference. Hence, the division semifinals and division finals came to be known as conference semifinals and conference finals, respectively. The top two teams in each division qualified as the Eastern Conference, comprising the Atlantic and Central divisions, while the Western Conference consisted of the Midwest and Pacific divisions. The first place team from one division would face the second place team of the other division within their conference. In the conference playoffs, a division winner always held home-court advantage over a second place team regardless of record. *71’ BOS (44-38): 3rd in Atlantic; 3rd in EAST* *71’ PHO (48-34): 3rd in Midwest; T-3rd in WEST* *71’ DET (45-37): 4th in Midwest; 4th in WEST* All due to an outdated rule missing out on playoff basketball. Instead in the East, You had a *42-40 Bullets team (1971 Eastern Conference Champs; 1st in Central & 4th in East)* make it *(Central Div. Weakest That Season)* alongside a *36-46 Hawks team (2nd in Central, 5th in East)* ____________________ In the West, you had a *48-34 Lakers team (1st in Pacific, T-3rd in West)* and a *41-41 Warriors team (2nd in Pacific, 6th in West)* *The only two years where this “problem occurs” since the expanding into 4 divisions separated by 2 conferences is 1971 & 1976-the year before the merger that added a 6th seed 🤔*

Nick made LITERALLY the exact opposite case for why Magic Johnson is clearly the greatest Laker ever over Kobe, as well as Duncan on his list. It was all about the finals he got in such few seasons, and because he’s trying to make finals appearances a thing, how many finals appearances he had in so few seasons. He talked about per game stats over the accumulation of them is why clearly Magic was a better passer than Stockton, (which btw I’m from Utah and was at Michael’s final ring where he broke my heart). Anyway, I just think it’s funny once he gets to where Lebron obviously should and would land on his list, he switches it to the accumulation of stats over per game one’s, and rings won where you weren’t the main reason behind those rings are equivalent to, well for example all six of Jordan’s.. It was all about how much he did in such a short career, now it’s been switched cause Lebron got to come first and to do that accumulation of stats and how many times you came in second place (or in Nick terms “finals appearances”) is what you have to make your case, and if your going to do that then you gotta consider Kareem..

He quit and retired ʟɪᴋᴇ ᴀ ᴡᴇᴀᴋ sᴀᴜᴄᴇ while LBJ has taken 5 head coaches to the nba finals 4 of them rookies ffs and has won with 3 different franchises. By the way b4 Phil and pippen mj was 1-9 in the playoffs and couldn’t get out the 1st round😂🤣 while LBJ was gettin to the finals as a 3rd year player ❗️ sᴋɪᴘ and rob talks about LBJ finals losses but lemme ask u since when gettin swept in the first round became better than losing in the finals so this notion that LBJ havin 6 losses is the worst thing in the world is a false narrative , when u’re able to take a bunch of cadaver to the finals,(LBJ did it 2007,2018) as an underdog and lose its an accomplishment , just gettin to the finals is an accomplishment all itself, it means u are a division champion which u get a trophy for and get to represent ur conference in the finals so yea LBJ still got 2 or 3 prime years ᴜ left the way he played his 19th season by the time its all said and done LBJ’s career is gonna be miles upon miles better than Jordan cuz LBJ actually never quit the sport twice like MJ , LBJ has been 19 years of greatness and counting enjoy haters❗️

Jordan haters (like Nick) only ever have one thing to fall back on to take Jordan off their #1 spot, and it's always about total stats. That's all it ever is. Can't be about winning: Jordan has won more and in less chances. Can't be about per game stats, especially on scoring: Jordan the most. Can't be about all around game: Jordan 10 scoring titles, 9 all defense in basically 11 full seasons of his prime (Kareen only 2 scoring titles, Lebron 1). Can't be about advanced stats: Jordan 28 PER vs Kareen 24 PER, Kareen .224 WS/48 vs Jordan's .250. There's just nothing to the arguments to have Kareen or Lebron above Jordan other than that they played 20+ seasons. That's it. that's not an argument, it's a bad love poem to Michael Jordan. Here's some questions why is he better than Kareem, who has the same number of rings, more league MVPs, scored more points, at a higher shooting percentage, pulled down more rebounds, more blocks, only averaged a little than one fewer assists per game. Or why is Jordan better than Chamberlain, who one year averaged 50pts and 20rbs per game, who once averaged 48.1 minutes per game, who one year lead the lead in assists. Or why is he better than Russell who had 11 rings in 13 years, and 8 in a row?
