Karen was not being disrespectful and laughing she smiled in disbelief that Bev was acting hostile about correctly changing the verdict form and once Bev calmed down and realized she was WRONG and the defense attorneys were RIGHT she called them back into the courtroom to let them know they were basically bright and she was willing to change it!! I hate half story reporting, so annoying and wrong!!!

The judge was smart enough to be scared of confronting Ms. Read. She asked one pointed question and immediately ran away. She knew that if she asked for clarification, Ms. Read might have said, "No, I don't think it's funny that you want me to be convicted. It's sad. It's disgusting. And everyone here is watching you try to ruin my life, and all for what?"
The first option at the top of the form is Not Guilty. The defense was playing a little misdirection i think. If Not Guilty is checked at the top, lesser charges are not to be considered, the verdict is complete.
Appointments. Like Cannon down in florida. Trump gave her a lifetime Appointment and now she's stalling his trial and trying to throw it out completely.
If you notice. she chastises Mrs. Reed rate after she has the jury come in. I suspect it was meant so the jury could over head the judge chastise her rate before deliberations.

The defense is just trying to create appealable situations because they know the jury is likely to come back with SOME guilty verdict given that they are deliberating. The judge does consider his very angry rant, however, and she agrees to give extensive jury instruction so that they aren't confused.....which they almost certainly are not anyway.
This judge has been extremely generous to the defense. No chance for a successful defense appeal if convicted, she was on it all the way through. You should be counting your blessings.

Intentional incompetence that's how good old boy justice occurs 😉with the cops , the DA and the Judge😉. That's how they all collude and don't get caught. Because lawyers Police themselves and if they don't fall in line Judges can make local lawyers lives miserable. This is happening to me in a case in Alabama, but a civil case and I am the Plaintiff. I actually found out how the Plaintiff attorney, Defendant attorneys actually communicate with each other through their Motions and with the Judge. This local colluding with the cops and Judge is why I bet Karen was advised by her own attorney to bring in a outside lawyer like Jackson. I was told to do the same thing in Alabama. It's called intentional incompetence. Lanny made so many false statements of the facts and in my view fraudulently misleading represented the facts , even in his closing. But lawyers have to be the police of other lawyers and Judges who are lawyers have to find them guilty. Lawyers don't like filling Motions for sanctions or a Bar Complaint against their own peers and colleagues. It's a closed system and doesn't happen often unless it so outrageous or they are not part of the gang system. I was told flat out by a successful lawyer in Alabama she could not help me with the Judge involved and the Defendants lawyer. She said the law is 100 percent on your side but this is good old boy justice not legal justice. But then the problem is it's hard to find an outsider lawyer to come into these corrupt countries. I was told by lawyers they don't want to be HOME COOKED. That's the term lawyers use to describe coming into a Country that they typically don't work in . So getting Jackson, an outside lawyer on the team is great, but then they risk being home cooked by the local DA and Judge and Cops. I had many ethical lawyers call it that and refused to take an embezzlement case. But the advice was to get a big enough law firm from Birmingham to help. So this is not available to most people because of the high cost of these powerful firms who can take on the corruption like Alan Jackson can and be able to call It out as he has without suffering the consequences to his practice in the community because he doesn't rely on them for a living. So I see this Judge being what I see in mine , intentional incompetence to help the prosecutor. This really is the reality. Being involved in it here in Alabama, but I live in MA I now see this is not an isolated Southern problem. Actually I was told by a few lawyers in MA this same existed here too. I have been told that filing in Federal Court is much better and that's what I should have done and am trying to see if I can pull it out at this date . But everything that Judge did was intentional. They hate outside lawyers coming in from big firms and especially from another state. It's not just the To Cops

The Judge was out of line as she has been throughout this trial and disgusting is how her behavior is described. Karen Read is innocent. And in fact all that are accused are innocent until proven guilty - they did not prove she is guilty of anything. It is shameful that these corrupt people are trying to convict an innocent woman. Beware for as you judge - you will be judged. In this case - as you frame you will be framed. PHD’s in physics stated under oath that JO’s injuries could not have been caused by KR vehicle - she is NOT GUILTY

What's funny is that the Judge asked the District Attorney to back her up and he didn't. She essentially told the out of state defense attorney "That's how we do it in Massachusetts, right Mr. DA?" and he essentially said "NOPE". Karen is right, that's hysterical!
Wow this judge does not stop showing her bias. Especially by her Karens normal response of disbelief. So inappropriate to call that out in front of everyone. She should have been removed from this case because of her blatant and obvious favoritism to the DA This is a broken Justice system people.
So if i knew nothing, and i was given the jury instructions. My first thought would be, "Is the only option guilty?" I bet the jury will ask why it's designed that way. Karen is innocent. They murdered that man and blamed her.

I'd request this be clarified to the jury. If I was a juror, I'd just write that crap on the top. I love the lawyer saying he had never seen a form like that.

When a nation is looking at this case, they notice differences from Mass. Juror forms. Maybe they have a better system? After all, we can all improve.
Then that judge needs to bring in the jury and explain that form and that if they want to find her not guilty you just check the one box not guilty which apparently will cover everything

Seems like a checkbox for both guilty and not guilty would be the standard. Not having a not "guilty" box is strange and questionable for sure. I would like to know the person or persons who makes up these forms and who has the final say. There must be standards and guidelines for these forms. Defense needs to investigate this imho.
Wrong they give you a slip of paper and say check the boxes. So like any other form you fill out if you don't check the boxes they give it back to you and say you missed a few. So how do they know they don't have to check any box????

Maybe this is his first time as a juror, it would confusing for me for the first time. As for the other witnesses against her, I believe they are guilty of something too bad no one told the truth about that night. But, the more I watched Read, the more I think she was involved with the rest of the others.
She can laugh all she wants, the judge should’ve taken the verdict from the jury as soon as that deleted search showed up in testimony. There’s no way a reasonable juror could find her guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
Did you watch the trial? There was NO deleted search. The evidence showed that none of the users deleted any searches. What you are referring to is an automatic deletion command from the operating system that did not remove any data in this situation anyway. Again, there was no deleted search. She will be found guilty, though probably of one of the lesser charges.
It's a way of eliminating chances for error. The least amount of opportunities to check or mark boxes, the least amount of opportunities for jurors to mark the wrong one. It's easy, simple and very common.
The form is correctly worded considering that all defendants are considered innocent til proven guilty. Courts really need to squash all this frivolity and grifting.
Guilty is an affirmative response because she is presumed innocent. There is no reason for a not guilty check box - she is not guilty unless they say she is guilty.
I have a JD and understand the rationale. I also understand that jurors don't think like attorneys and judges. The form should reflect the fact that it must be understood by folks without a legal background.

Karen wasn’t laughing bc it's not funny at all. That smile said: "No not guilty option? Are you effing serious?" The way I see it the only option this judge is giving this jury is "guilty no matter what" and that’s a disgrace for Miss Read, this community and for the judicial system as a whole.

I don't like this judge at all. She seems to bias against the defense. Every time the defense had the witness exposed she would start to sustain objections about stuff they wrote themselves and now she just makes it harder for the jury to deliver a verdict.
She's a pretty good judge actually. The defense, on the other hand, needs to learn about asking nicely and being civil. They've been combative for no reason with this judge.

Where did the dog claw/bite marks on his arm come from? Hint not an SUV from the dam dog. Small town cop problems, she lucky she has money for defense but still may not be enough.
