Hello! We drummers use the hole to mount the cymbal on a cymbal stand.

They are to make them sound shorter. It has to do with sustain.

Well the holes in a cymbal first at all reduce the mass of a cymbal without making it thinner. secondly the holes reduce certain frequencies and add freshness,coolness and trashiness and also the radiation of the bell into the wash is reduced so that you cant hear not that much bell sound. andthe sustain is also a littlebit reduced. smaller holes makes it not that much trashy at all where as large holes reduce the mass of a cymbal drastically so it has a thinnner but trashier sound.Also the cymbals can be quite loud but they also can be quite depending on sice.hole diameter.how much holes,hole pattern etc

@@mmm-mq3zr - Odd time shit can be boring too. If odd time is your only criteria of a great drum performance, you are severely remediated in your understanding of music. There is so much more to music than an odd time signature.
