I think ricky knows that karls way of thinking is on some levels genius, but if he pondered karls thoughts too much and showered him with praise that most of the humor would be lost.
It's why Steve was always much better with Karl. He never really got angry at him or shut him down or started preaching atheism and trying to sound as intelligent as possible. He was the glue that held it together, knowing when to let Karl just keep going whereas Ricky was far too aggressive. They love Karl for being simple and then when he starts saying daft stuff he thought of, Steve asks him questions and Ricky yells over him about science.
I would like to listen to Karl Pilkington on his own. Although I think gervais is brilliant, his ridiculous laughing really puts me off listening to these podcasts
@@tombainbridge5406 Stephen merchant isn't the issue it's Ricky. Ricky pissed off Steve by making the awful Brent film and Karl had enough of Rickys over bearing ways. I know someone who was doing some admin on a project of Karl's and apparently Ricky was pissed off that Karl moved on and did his own thing. Like Ricky thinks he somehow owns Karl. Its not even hard to believe Ricky would be like that. I could imagine that if he thinks in someway he is superior to another person his arrogance could become unbearable until u tell him to fuck off.

Karl is quite right on a few points here. The world really is like God's house. He walked on it, with Adam and Eve. His garden was the place where the forbidden fruit was, and was forever hidden from man, after man took fruit from one of the trees.
It's curious how Christians always ignore the second part of the 10th commandment. "Thought shalt not covet thy neighbour's belongings.... specifically their SLAVES" The bit about slaves is never mentioned. Weird.
I love from when Super Best Friends were around, when Woolie told the story of Jacob & The Angel and kinda made Jacob out to be the biggest asshole in biblical times
The podcast wouldn't exist without Ricky and Steve. His "interrupting" as mentioned above is what makes it such good content. Without the contradiction it's just Karl waffling.
Yeah, Ricky can be great for keeping the pacing of the pod but sometimes he’s so desperate to call Karl an idiot that he interrupts when he shouldn’t or purposely misunderstands something simple Karl is saying.
He brings the following to the relationship humour, mystery with unpredictable “logic” and he doesn’t shed on the settee 🛋️ , surely he can’t cheat on her with that charisma and no debt as he’s watches the pennies like a proper Yorkshire man “how much” economist and a thoughtful lover with all that birth control 😂😂 to avoid parenthood saving a ton of cash 💷 😂😂😂 so they can afford Christmas next year 😂😂😂 plus he’s willing to work Christmas week sure that’s the full list 😮
Atheists often know the Bible better than many Christians, mainly because they approach it, with a critical eye, as a work of fiction. They take an academic interest in it as an important part of western civilization, and acquire a familiarity with it so they can criticize it honestly. Also, many atheists were raised in a religious faith, found fundamental flaws in it, and drifted away from religion. They still heard the same stories as children that believers did, they just stopped believing along the way.
Ricky is beyond annoying, he tells karl to summarize the bible and then yells at him for summarizing the bible. Then he makes each segment about himself.
Yeah I can't listen to this. I'd love to hear him actually get to speak but even 8 minutes in even Carl said he was getting tired of this and I share the sentiment. 0/10 hosts. 10/10 narrator.

It’s amazing to me how cruel and immoral Christians are. Thou shalt not kill is literally one of their rules yet Christian rulers and their armies have murdered billions of people in the last 2000yrs. Much more than any atheist.

Just so you know, Karl only talked about old testament stuff e.g. genesis creation, ten commandments, all of this is also found in the Jewish scriptures, as Christianity is essentially an offshoot of Judaism.
Listening to Karl talk about Adam and Eve was painful as someone who understands that the knowledge given from the tree was conscious which made them cover them selves as they realized they were vulnerable in their naked state.
I love these three, and I listen to these just about every day. But…Ricky IS a bully. Definitely. It’s obvious. From what I’ve heard, Ricky and Karl don’t really talk very often. I wonder why.
I don't we can say for certain though, anything we've heard is from the press which is usually exaggerated for clickbait. If it's not from their mouths in an interview it probably isn't true. Not that I know either. 😛 He definitely is a bit of a bully though I agree, but they've been friends for about 20-30 years. I think if they were to have a falling out over this kind of stuff it would happened years ago.
Bully is too harsh a word for me. Ricky pokes Karl for a reaction though, YES. Same way he laughs & says Karl got Steve when Karl makes a come back jab towards Steve. He is indeed the stick tht pokes like he himself described himself as but i don't think there is malice in it from any of them towards the other. Even Karl said Ricky was first to show up when he was unwell at some point. But then again who really knws, friends are friends. Their relationships are only understood by those in it. The press is not particularly the most honest source of information.

Monkey Revenge, nothing else. The OT clearly has judgement day for sorting things out. The threat was a typical "Wait and see what happens to you after you die". Later on Catholicism introduced purgatory and limbo.. when people started asking your questions. Those aren't the actual Ten Commandments. Start at Exodus 19 and pay attention to how many times Moses goes up the mountain (three), which rules are spoken, and which are actually put on the tablets. Spoiler alert: "dont boil a baby goat in its mother's milk" is Commandment #10. Another spoiler alert: The entire story is rubbish. The exodus didn't happen. Moses most likely didn't even exist.
I don't cate how intelligent you think you are. Its not polite to ridicule a man's faith. You can't prove there is or isn't a God. Believe as you wish, and respect each other's beliefs. Pretty simple.
