I've been using my GoPro Karma constantly since I got it just over a month ago.The drone has allowed me to shoot some awesome areal shows and the grip was fantastic at a recent car show here in Japan. I always have the fold up selfie stick with the grip. It allows me to get so many better shots. The GoPro has almost become my go-to shooting equipment.
dont know if anyone gives a damn but if you're stoned like me during the covid times you can watch pretty much all of the new movies and series on InstaFlixxer. I've been binge watching with my girlfriend for the last couple of weeks :)
Thanks for posting. I also had a difficult time disconnecting the unit when I first got it out of the box. The instructions leave a lot to be desired. Now I wait for the extra grip to become available so I have an extra (very expensive) battery.
Same here. A simple instruction to pull hard and show where the thing separates would make that a whole lot easier. But then, the instructions for the Karma Grip aren't that much better. Stupid GoPro.
I use a simple external USB battery 3000mAh or more and use a USB C cable through the bottom of the Karma Grip handle - it charges the handle as well as the camera and I can shoot all day without running out of power. I wouldn't waste my money on another grip just for a back-up battery.
It's good for body mount. Let's try and remember that this is an action camera accessory and is meant for faster paced movement. I have a review posted of the piece on my channel being used for its intended purpose if anyone cares to check that out. It works flawlessly and I've put the thing through the ringer in some harsh backcountry.
Hi. What is the mount BETWEEN the extension pole and the gimbal AND between the bike mount and the Karma Grip handle. They appear to be identical. I want to do what you have done but I cannot find these two extra pieces that you don't mention in the vide0. Thank you.
Hey I just got my extension. Have you been faced with the 'USB connected' screen making completely useless. Tried different sd cards and reset but nothing. Sometimes it works sometimes it does out of 10 maybe twice it will work. Try an get back to me if you can
If you wanted to use this for sports where there is stop and go, sprinting, etc how would you make this work? I used a cheap chest mount (with the karma grip, not this add extension cable) and the video was terrible. I thought this extension would be ideal, less mass, but I wonder if there is a flaw in my method also.
Believe it or not, I had to watch on RU-vid to learn how to operate the Hero 5 and the Karma Grip. Anyway, nice video. I might still get one. I use a backpack clip and the swaying of the grip handle messed up the stabilization real bad even when I was walking normally.
Great review! My opinion is that they charge way too much for the extension! Hopefully some third party items will soon come out! As for the new pole maybe they are hoping to replace the karma drone altogether... 😂
+Gareth Williams I haven't tried it on the helmet yet. I don't really do any sports that require a helmet but I might try mounting it in my daughters bicycle helmet and see how it works
I first bought the Z1 Rider M but the mount broke and the whole thing took a tumble off my motorcycle. Wound up trashing a GoPro Hero4 as a result. The stabilization wasn't as good as the Karma Grip.
It doesn't make any sense to have a small camera and then add enormous accessories?! Look at the monstrous size of the cable...:) these days it all should be wireless with either multiple or more effective batteries. GoPro got a strong Stone Age grip. And they are extremely overpriced. Thumbs up to the video and down to GoPro.
This is a nice video but I think the cable is stupid. They fucking want to sell shit when they could simply sell a pole to connect the whole karma grip.
