California fan here. Amazing testimony. I’m in Yuba City. About 40 minutes away from sacramento. I’m so glad I took the time to listen to this podcast. Lots of tears. Definitely felt the spirit and I really needed this. Thank you so much ❤

I love this sister’s beautiful testimony! Like her, my testimony (which has struggled) is not really affected by the silly and stupid minutiae of church history that gets people’s feathers all ruffled, I have been lucky in this I know. The fruits have been enough for me, faithful obedience has come to me easily as well. I could feel the spirit in the first part of this, hearing about her sister passing, and love she had for her and then afterward for others who’ve gone through the same experience of sibling loss. I wish people could always just not care what others think, some of us in the church are too quiet to convey how much admiration we truly have for others and are just quiet (like me), and we might give off the wrong impression. Anyway, thanks for sharing this. I lost my Patriarchal Blessing a few years ago so during this I went to the church website and sent myself a copy, and downloaded a PDF version to my phone. 😊

I love Katie’s spirit of humility, gratitude, and her eternal perspective! It can be easy to be resentful if things don’t work out in a certain way. But her attitude makes all the difference! Heavenly Father can teach us so much if we let Him, He can change our hearts and guide us through hard times, and Katie is a beautiful example of this! 💛

I love your podcast and the wonderful people whose stories you share with us. Katie, I live in Nelson, New Zealand and our Branch is part of the Wellington mission. Most of the members are Maori or Pasifika and the rest of us come from all over the world. We love our missionaries dearly, so I hope your son will get a chance to serve here and be part of our branch family.

Wow, this was so good! I loved everything she said--how and why she struggled, how she overcame, how God continually took care of her and her family (even when it didn't seem like it at the time), how inspired the missionaries were, etc. I love what she said about how we are always worthy to go to church, we are always worthy of God's love and to receive answer to our prayers, and that nobody is perfect and if we assume that their life is easy or perfect we just don't know them well enough. I loved it!

Oh my goodness…you are so right Katie. I often wonder if I talk too much to my daughters but I do so because I wish my parents had talked to me about their lives, fears, joys and the reasons why they believe what they do and why it’s so important to live the Gospel of Jesus Christ. My girls are the best part of me and I let them know all the time. My Mom didn’t let me know how she felt about me until she was 96 which made life hard for me.

In the early days of the church, members before joining by baptism would half to confess their sins before the congregation 😯 I think we should go back to that model because it would help with the perfectionism attitude that many members feel while at church. No one is perfect and very few people will judge for your past.

Everything is belief (religion). We all espouse a belief paradigm of some form or another regarding everything. None of us can say or do anything with perfect knowledge and certainty. None of us can explain even one thing perfectly, let alone all things. Further, none of us can determine with perfect certainty what will happen next. For all we know, the physical universe will scratch an itch and our physical existence will all be less than an afterthought.

@@lynnanderson4011 The Book of Mormon makes no claims. It is a book, an inanimate object. Regardless, you don't seem to understand how science works. Specifically, you don't seem to understand that archeology is not designed to disprove anything. If something hasn't been dug up, then it hasn't been dug up is all. Plus, not everything survives over time.
@AlbertJLouie
@AlbertJLouie Год назад
When you seek answers from the Book of Mormon instead of the Bible, God can't help you because you have turned your back on Him. Therefore this leaves the door open for Satan (II Corinthians 21:14-15) to step into your life with a false christ or prophet showing you signs and wonders to lead you away from the real Jesus of the Bible who is God the Son 2nd person of the Trinity. God Himself warns us about this in MATTHEW 24: 23-24 "Then if anyone says to you, Look, here is the Christ! or There! do not believe it. For false christs and false prophets will rise and show great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect..." Mormons teach and believe that their jesus is the brother of Satan, which contradicts what God says in His Bible that Jesus is God the Son 2nd person of the Trinity. So Mormons, which Jesus do you believe in? A. Your jesus of the Book of Mormon, who is the brother of Satan. OR B. The Jesus of the Bible, who is God the Son 2nd person of the Trinity.

@@DaremoDaremo When the Mormon church attacks the Bible and Christianity, God gives us the right to defend God's word (the Bible). @@mhanford4330 You cannot ignore the warnings from God in MATTHEW 24:23-24 against false christs and false prophets. The jesus of the Book of Mormon, who is the brother of Satan, is not the Jesus of the Bible, who is God the Son 2nd person of the Trinity. So no matter how much you try to sugar coat it with words of unity and love for each other. You and the Mormon church believes in a different Jesus.
