@NOREMAC770 you need to re-jet when you do any modification to the airflow, whether its intake or exhaust, especially if you port/polish or change the cams. some guys will re-jet for the temperature and elevation. when im in the mountains, i run rich, but if i go to the beach it runs lean. elevation plays a huge role. also if your are running in the winter, the air is cooler and more dense, so you need to richen it so it doesn't run lean. not a huge deal though. i leave mine alone

i have a kfx400 with k&n cone, powerlid fmf powercore 4 slip on without spark arrestor and the jets are too high so i should try the same setting as you

I have an 03 ltz400 and just rebuilt the carb it seems to be running really rich but bogs in higher gears any ideas what the problem could be

I’ve LTZ400 2007 (carb) Full System Exhaust HMF ,Air Filter K&N cone > I want to install the proper jet. I don't know the right size!

@justin1234go - yeah, i would think they should be similar (depending on your elevation) (i'm around 1,000 feet)

do you know if a dvx carb is would be the same? and where did you get the power lid?

just look up the k&n filter and filter lid for the z400. there are pics everywhere.

@MXMONSTA71 ... i dunno. if it smells really rich or check your plug and look for carbon. its better to run rich then to run lean tho.

i agree with 1976tdm , clean your carb first. you normally wouldn't think to have to say that, but then again, there are people who don't know to do it.

@kbrawlz when you installed just the exhaust did it need to be re jetted and when you had just the exhaust and filter (stock air filter lid) did it have to be re jetted

my quad is all stock and when in neutral just idleling if i press the gas to fast it will bogg and turn off.

dvx carb is the same. power lid i believe i got on ebay. you can order them almost anywhere though. thefind.com will search for the lowest price.

get one size bigger on your pilot. and def tighten the header well

it takes like 10 seconds or so. You just crank the engine over while the petcock is on PRI and turn it back once it starts.

try taking off your filter and see if it makes it worse or better.

no, but your bike will run better. i also ride at 0 elevation at the beach, and 4000ft in the mountains, carbs don't like that change in oxygen.
