What a great video. I never get board of watching tanks been set up. And it's always great to see younger people in the hobby.

Wow. That is one amazing store you got there! I'm located near the fifth largest populace capital in the country and I've been trying for almost a year now to get the common Otocinclus. It's ridiculous how uncommon the "common" Otocinclus has become in our region. I'm sure every one of us wishes that we had a friend like you to help us when we started our first aquarium. Trial and error can be rough and the learning curve can be steep when going at it alone. I too was tempted by the Fluval Edge but ultimately decided on the Spec series. It was your videos on the Spec Tanks that solidified that decision. We've come to know you as "Specktec" now. You have a gift for teaching my friend. All these small tips and tricks make a huge difference to the first-time aquascaper. With our first planted tank, we started at 10am Saturday morning and we didn't finish until Sunday around 2am the next morning. Although I can safely say that was also due to my meticulous attention to detail. Something that (sadly) is not required when aquascaping. There's that trial and error again, but I suppose 'live and learn' would be more appropriate. Side note - My wife thinks that is the cutest little kitchen, with all of it's nooks and crannies, and a copious amount of natural sunlight. (Prepare for an onslaught of algae though. Any direct sunlight means algae will grow quite rapidly. It's unavoidable.) Keep up the good work my friend.

Awesome video Sean, really nice of you to help her. I wouldn't have put the tank so close to the window, she's going to have to keep on top of it with the maintenance. Wish her the best. For fish, that Betta some small tetra and some shrimp would be great imho

Nice vid! Always nice to see someone helping another out. I’ve got a 12g edge with a betta and cardinals in. Need to reduce water flow as the betta will get flung all around the tank, I’ve hung a media bag under the flow to help and it’s worked a treat. Keep up the good work your channel is ace

To help keep "slopeiness" I make small "L" shape baffles out of acrylic strips. The height depends on how much slope you want and the length depends on the tank size and the floor space of the sloped area. The return strip that sits on the floor of the aquarium is about 1.5"-2" wide. These baffles make terraced areas that don't level out over time. I usually face the vertical part of the baffle with slate, so it looks natural when it does eventually get exposed.

Seachem Flourish is not an all-in one fert, it is micros only. Here is Seachems own description "It contains a rich assortment of important micro elements, trace elements and other nutrients. These include calcium, magnesium, iron and other important elements that have been shown to be beneficial to aquatic plants." it goes on to suggest you buy a bunch more Seachem products to get macros "For macro element (npk) fertilization, use flourish nitrogen, flourish phosphorus or flourish POTASSIUM as needed."

I don't like the idea of the square hole restricting access to the tank. Why did Fluval do that?! Otherwise, I like the Edge tank.
