Cheers Kenya Defense Forces. You remain one of the few institutions that citizens still have a reason to look upon with pride. Waiting with hope and prayer when the Kenya Air Force will acquire the F 16. Cheers
Guys, I once spoke with a gentleman from the armed forces. He stated that acquisitions are informed by international politics, specifically former colonial masters. There was a time we were close to signing a deal with the French to get Dassault Mirage jets, the British acted very quickly , and sent a delegation of diplomats and generals to ask the leadership to change their mind, and thats how we were strongarmed into buying BAE Hawks...these were just off the production line and still had manufacturer's defects such as inacuraccy when dropping bombs , among other things. This explains why they were sold to Botswana in the 90s (guess who brokered the deal?). It makes sense for us to acquire Saab Gripens as the Swedish do not have Geopolitical interests and can even work out technology transfer (if your pockets are fat enough e.g Brazil), but at the rate at which the current leadership is sucking up to the west (think GMO UNBANNING) I dont think we will ever get anything other than hand me down aircraft with limited capabilities
Air defense drones and long range rockets is what kenya needs believe when i say europe could be back to africa in a big way air defense will make hell for fighter jets and cruise missiles
That's why I believe kibaki was the only leader who didn't give a damn about geopolitics and that's why kdf had Russian/Chinese weapons but the truth is if they are waiting for so called western powers to arm them they're in for a little red surprise ,way forward just copy Uganda Ethiopia and tz
For? Remember, Uganda is a neighbour. These hardwares are for the protection of Kenya against internal and EXTERNAL threats....... Has the penny dropped?
*ALL YOU HAVE SEEN IN THE VIDEO ARE THE TRAINING EQUIPMENT. The GFP list Kenya's Military 12th strongest force in Africa. On October 14th KDF showcase some of the military equipment for training purposes at the Laikipia airbase. President Ruto was taken through these machines, from combat jet fighters, helicopters, tanks, artillery, motors, several combat rifles (machine guns, sniper rifles, M4s, M16s Fn Scar riffles), navy equipment, surveillance tools and more.*
Hey buddy all what you saw on that clip is all Kenya has stop living in fantasy world they don't have training and real thing that's all they have trust me
Being a Russian fanatic and especially in ongoing Ukrainian war alafu nione hizi stuff i simply get lost of words...But we are going somewhere as a country
Does all this stuff really work? Sorry I couldn't resist asking that knowing how Kenya functions. I also notice a free-fall bomb in the display. Compared to laser guided bombs or smart bombs, this is like a catapult versus a modern sniper rifle. Anyway, better having a catapult to fire a rock than throwing a rock with your hand. You may get a lucky shot to keep the enemy at bay 🙂.
This arsenal is impressive so far, but Kenya needs to seriously consider boosting the airforce to be honest. I cant see any up-to-date fighter aircraft, I think we need a good number of F-15s and F16s, antiaircraft capabilities also needed at least,. I will not speak much of the navy which I have little information about, but for the ground forces I have to admit their firepower is satisfactory. 😂😂😂I love those long range heavy artilleries, and the tankmen right over those turrets, really cool.
Serbian Nora B52 self-propelled howitzer was literally in the USA, 2 years ago, alongside Swedish,Israeli,French ones for testing for the next US army howitzer. Even though this one here is an older model.
I love our millitary but i wouldn't feel safe flying in those jets let alone combat missions, and i never see what kind ground air defence we have, we can go for a pastsir and buk system combined
10:18 , salute to this guy, gun rectification, a military mathematician !! and 10:36 , you know most countries use computers and satellites for that due to lack of skilled personnel,
I think mig 25 ground attack or US warthog can serve us better for aerial superiority and add maybe another attack helicopter and long range bomber and battle cruiser ooh and s-300 air defence we add on to the old buk missile system my thought tho
mig-25 isn't a ground attacker, its an interceptor. Kenya is unlikely to get f-16 or f-15s because it lacks any sort of close relationship. Most American equipment came from Barak Obama when he was president. About the sams am not sure maybe in acouple of years time
There are a lot of air assets that we know KDF has but they wouldn't display. Where are the drones for instance? Where are the Made in Kenya assault rifles? They chose to show us only what they wanted us to see.
They say if you don't see it,it's none existent a drone is not such an Earth shuttering equipment to be categorized as a top secret simply they don't have it
We may not be a millitary state and we may not have real enemies as axcuse for revamping our airforce but staying up to date is very important. We never know when the shots will come ringing and thus must be prepared. About the jets there is credible speculation that the F-5's will be replaced with either the swedish Gripen or the F-15 Eagle( The F-16 is more costly to operate). Still it's a great show.
Air defense is more important than fighter jets they are becoming thinks of the past look at the big war going on now jets are getting blown out of the sky everyday on both sides air defense and drones with a lot of rocket artillery even the usa army is coming to terms and you know they love there airforce and navy just think how cost effective drones are to fighter jets billion dollar f 35 to gerhan drone cost 30 grand basically a cruise missile for cheap
Maybe because of the music but it looks like a reao cozy, chill and sunny place Aside from that I had to laugh at all the stoneage equipment, especially the airforce and tanks and what is supposed to the AA I guess. BUT old equipment is better than no equipment. They can do a lot of things to defend themselves in that region. Aside from the lack of AA this is just enough to defend kenyas souvereignity. I approve that if they use taxes for better things inside kenya than using it for war. And the infantry themselves seem to have more modern stuff from Rifles, safety and intel equipment. Nice
One of the reasons Africa was colonized was the lack of sufficient modern weaponry. Clearly not much has changed. If the Europeans decided to recolonize Kenya they could do it easily. We have learned nothing from our history!!! 😡😥
Can you post more of such scenerie on a sunny clear day? It looks really stunning africa may be stoneage but it really has beautiful postcard scenery. Thanks The choice of music is good aswell. Its late 2000s European car advertisement music. It really fits If you dont believe me look up forza motorsport 3 car game soundtrack. Its very similar and even better. Maybe you will use it in future
am Kenyan and I don't celebrate mediocrity. all those machines are obsolete apart from the guns. can't even compare the tank I saw in Congo fighting m23 with this relics
USA also is top 3 wealthiest countries with Trillions in GDP and several hundred billions defense budget. Kenyas defense Budget for entire 2022: kust 980 Million LOL thats how much tiny Austria paid this year for a single package of a few swedish gripen jets. Kenya cannot afford much stuff and no new stuff. Kenya has the budget for 1 full year, that USA sends to Ukraine in just 1 day for free
US is also an industrial and economical powerhouse and can easily afford those jets, Kenya can't. Kenya should be proud of having those jets, they aren't a powerhouse but it shows that they can still do with what they have.
No air defense is the most important cant beat usa or europe at there own game air defense rocket artillery long range rockets and drones that gives kenya or any other african country enough power to stop a invasion or make the invader pay a heavy price
Those military equipment will be available depending on the level of threats Kenya receives from another nation. For now worry not, we have no likely enemies in our region.
We need frigates and modern fighter jets like j20 or Su27, like our neighboring countries Sudan and Uganda has them,That Russia machines can wiped out entier Nairobi.let us upgrade our military facilities.Ogolla fanya mambo.
Lmao kenyas defense busget is just 980 million this year. Thats what USA throws at Ukraine every single day. Look at the price of a himars system, then ask yourself again
@@CAMTECHCOMMUNICATION Theres not much to show with 109 obsolete tanks, 80 artillery and just 5 rocket launchers. Kenya has tiny budget of just 980 million. Kenya cannot afford 4.5 million himars System. 1 rocket costs 100 thousand
@@pipopoikapelaa5468 That is optimistic but to me as a german is a probable reason for african laziness. We have one of most modern militaries in the world and complain continously about things being able to be improved so things get done. You say; „yes we have tiny military with outdated equipment in low numbers but here in africa it should hopefully be enough „ Thats not how you improve and develop
this is just for display guys...if u'r in doubt, try us then you will realise what am saying because i haven't seen the choppers Obama donated in 2013....wot you don't is that real artillery and war machines are normally stored underground,,not on the surface like this..look the choppers and jets we used to capture afmadow in somalia and you will realise that none of them is here
The Egyptians have been at war back in history, in fact it has been documented in the scriptures. thats why they have really advanced in their military capability compared to many african countries.
Some of the jets looks like the scrap metal acquired from Jordan for billions of shillings yet could not get off the ground, so they were shipped into Kenya to be assembled
F5 are very effective, take example of the Uganda jets, cost of maintenance is so high are are not reliable , 2 ) this region don't experience war , the colonies won't sell an F15 let alone F16 so is F35 , Kenya was recently almost to sign a deal for delivery of 10 dasaalt mirage fighter jets from France, Britain sent it's diplomats to France and that's how the deal was cancelled by France
@@TheGeneralEntertainment regarding f5 effectiveness...unafanana na hiyo jina yako...also I noticed you just copied my comment about Dassault Mirage word for word
@@TheGeneralEntertainment there are options, Tejas india, Sukoi, Migs, Grippen. but we aint known for our airforce..... Kenya has one of the best ground forces in Africa, thats why the US and UK keep coming to train here
F4 fighter jets that belong in the 70s while UG has SU27 fighter jets smh. No rocket launchers or any credible air defense system. Such bs equipment pthoo🙄
Just some outdated military repainted equipments where are the kamikazes drones from Iran, air defenses at least mig29 or even Su 27,35 those f4s should b donated to military museum
I'm Tanzanian but my brothers from Kenya, don't be full against what you or they are showing you. These guys are professional and they know what they are doing ,so you should understand they can't show you their true colors my friend. They will never display what they have at this time.
Technically speaking Kenya's army is more technical and equipment oriented to make up for its relatively small size....the ugandan military for example still issues gumboots and no body armour to a bulk of its soldiers....also people do not realise its not so much as having a eeapons system but it is the cost of maintenance and deploying the said system
This are training equipment kijana 😆😆😆😆, do you know exact total number of Kenya army force, no you will google but exact number is always a secret so is the real combat equipments
Weapons are acquired based on the threats a country receives from another nation. Why should we have a military equipment worth billions of shillings just lying in bases at a time when millions are facing starvation? I believe that any responsible government would pump more resources in areas of urgency.
@@CAMTECHCOMMUNICATION the welfare of a people always comes first, things like agriculture, water harvesting and food security should be well thought into by any serious government....a countries security also ranks in fairly high....considering that we reside in a tough neighbourhood I would say yes...we should have equipment worth billions in bases...also judging from the war In Ukraine, I would insist that we should always be prepared and ready incase any African or foreign nation should try and invade....it's better to have options at hand rather than starting to scramble for options when we are suddenly threatened....
