This may sound silly, but I'm genuinely sad that Jacques is leaving. This team, including coaching staff, has become so important to us as South Africans. This is our team. These are our people.
@@bertrand727They haven't decided. Rassie will apparently cover coach position immediately following world cup. They want to promote an internal candidate but I don't think that works so well. Pool of candidates is very small. I don't know if he would want it but SARU should try and get Ronan O'Gara.
But foreigners are great at helping us with technical skills (Aled Walter, Felix Jones, Eddie Jones etc) - so maybe ROG would take an Assistant Coach role?
Thank you Jean Philippe…it was a 50/50 game that could have gone either way. So very impressed with many, many players in your team. Truly great skill, courage and tenacity.
Arendse is such an underrated player. Every time he was near the ball he was sheer class. Of all wingers, I NEVER see him fall off tackles, electric speed and great under the high ball
I was born in 1968, and yesterday, within a span of 85 minutes, I aged to 75! There was a time when I started chewing my dog's toenails cause it was the only ones left.😂🤣
I'm Irish so obviously this weekend was very tough but rugby as a product, my God! I'm genuinely baffled how anyone would watch soccer over this magnificent sport.
@@Matt-bg5wg shows bad character blaming the reff, there were missed calls on both sides, its rugby it happens to all of us, what a game . Let's go boka!
SA needed Jesse Kriel to come into his own to solidify the midfield. He absolutely did so in this game against France - he officially stepped into his prime.
good you say? My dear man, He is rugby. He single handled had south Africa pinned back in that first half, Probably ran out of gas in the end good? he's the best number 9 of all time, the question is weather he is the most influential player of all time.
@garyodriscoll7988 Better thn Carter ,Lomu ,O'Driscoll ,the whole lot ..He carried France on his back, and almost almost got the W ...By grace we got through, because France dominated the stats ...But it's the score that counts ..
He is simply amazing, but you need to have more than one great player in the field and that's what the All Blacks and the Srping Boks had this weekend.
@@sancojoseph4939 You can say better than Carter all you want but Carter beat the Boks in 2015 and then won a WC a week later with his Master Class. Anton can try again in four more years.
Man, the French hit the boks real hard at the breakdowns. I was absolutely stunned, but it was one hell of a game to watch. Now it's time to best the English and face our most perfect rival in the finals!
@@leonnortje8330 We haven't lost against the English in World Cups for 20 years, why would we choke now? Do we have a habit of choking? Your comment makes no sense at all. If you want to be pessimistic keep it for yourself or at least have a valid point.
Ireland and Leinster fan here. First of all, huge regards and respect to the Springboks and All Black teams. They totally deserve to go through to the next round at the expense of Ireland and France. I'm aching in pain atm and it shows no sign of going away. Thank Zels for not rubbing our noses in it too much and expressing hope for the future of Irish rugby. Best quarter finals ever!
Keo's comment 5min30, it was an AB like performance. We know better than most how the AB's have an ability to win games they should lose. Being denied ball and territory and still finding quick scores on the counter. The number of times we've been on the receiving end of that exact outcome. It's just magic to get it done this time.
You scored from French mistakes tho. 3 French men jumping for the ball for the Arendse try. Cameron Woki losing another high ball.. Jalibert backward penalty which eventually ended up with Etzebeths try.. South Africa's luck was in.
The Springboks felt that they did everything that needed to be done last night. What occurred to me when watching them after the match was how disappointed the Springboks felt because they couldn't make the French feel a little better for the loss
I'm sure it's heartbreaking to go out by one point at home, but the French can hold their heads up high. That was rugby of the highest calibre and truly could have gone either way. That game will echo throughout history as one of the greatest ever played. I know that I speak for all South Africans when I say that the French have earned our respect. Vive la France!
We didn't see the same game sir. Not at all, it will be remember as one of the biggest robbery ever. Exactly like 1995 and 2011, we never forgot it. One more time a ref scandal at the highest rugby level and everything is fine. Congrats Commonwealth you made it one more time ! Frenchies will never forget this new chapter you can trust me. Shameful world rugby
@@joelego5767 *France got robbed once again by referee* *The first South Africa try shouldn't been accorded since Etzebeth make an illegal move* *World Rugby is corrupt*
We don’t care about respect. France is a great country of rugby with top domestic league. I think we should stop to play as a nation . Another robbery after 95 and 2011.I’m done.
NZ lad here. Freaking love you guys man, all our lads went out and did their jobs, Argentina got in there too. Australia not so much but it doesn't matter, Fiji did a good job on theirs as well all things considered.
Our subs had a huge impact, there's didn't. You can argue that the moment they made their substitutions is when momentum shifted. Squad depth and rotation is what won us that game.
Every time the French made subs I felt better and better because the player going off was always better with us it felt more like yes this is what we need at this stage of the game. The difference I think
Been watching rugby since 1994 - best weekend of rugby I've ever seen, hands down. Glad to see you guys throwing some respect the ABs way, they've been through a lot of tribulations and they're showing that grit that we love and respect!
This weekend has been an absolute SHOWCASE, the winner being RUGBY. I do not know of another sport that can have you in suspense for 80+ minutes 4 times in a major competition. MONSTROUSLY EPIC !!!
Thanks you guys give us a awesome word cup. Your show is just crazy interesting. I am currently in Michigan and following the word cup on my phone. The reviews on RU-vid is my bread and butter. I showed an American guy the highlights. I wish I could capture his face on camera he could not believe the action blood sweat and tears. Shame they miss a lot. Bokke bo. Thanks
@keo....it is not only South Africans who support springboks, am Kenyan and support the Boks, am sure there are so many around the world Bok supporters.
This game was too much for my heart.... Well done to both teams for giving it their all..... All the best to the Boks you deserve to win after that great display of character.... Amazing
I've only just recovered from the celebrations of last night's win. We as South Africans can be immensely proud of this effort. Possibly the greatest test of all time!
@@MaxMax-zs3gpsame O Keefe who gave SA the most marginal of yellow cards? Denied SA a clear offside penalty when going for a drop kick? Let Du Pont get away with only a penalty for holding on 1m from his line with 3 SA players on him? Go touch some grass pal👍
What a game, both teams put on a show. The Boks came through, but it was close. Great for rugby overall. Boks will take this cup again, they are tough guys
Keo, you did not drink during the match, because you wanted to remember it. Very respectable. The rest of us just remember whether we won or lost. We don't even remember the score. We have to watch the replay the next day to find all of that out.😂
These podcasts are just something else. I could watch them everyday. Another great epidode. No. Official mate counter this time round. Frans in France will be enjoying those baguettes for another 2 weeks
Love the commentary guys and have to acknowledge the BOKS just have that inner strength - a historical backbone - and Heart that got them over the line. Brilliant game was as compelling and gripping and enjoyable to watch as the ABs v Ireland game for me a K1w1. Looking forward to the Semi with a positive belief and to the final where the ultimate test will separate a worthy champion whichever way it goes. God bless.
If they go on to win the WC this just might be the best rugby side ever - a combination of physical strength up front and speed behind the scrum that no team can live with.
Surprised you never mentioned Damian`s mark and call scrum. Never seen that. Another genius coach call. We needed a set piece play to gain dominance and tie up their forwards at the same time. I bet other coaches took note of that play and we might see it again soon.
Look ahead to the final and you'll come unstuck. Thats exactly what France and Ireland were doing. You have to beat England and NZ have to beat the Pumas first. It might be a risk to rest your best players.
Isn't it just awesome to be a South African, Its just so great to be a Springbok. The Bokke settling down in Succoth for a while enjoy the heights of the clouds, boys enjoy this moment.
As an Ireland supporter I am gutted, I think we had the ABs on the ropes from a psychological viewpoint, we just needed a good start to maintain the doubt. Instead 2 soft penalties, 6 points up and Ireland chasing the game, ABs I control from that point, defending and clinical breaks. Ireland put in a massive effort and were amazing to get back to one point. The penalties against Porter in the scrum broke the back of Irelands chances, they had to work hard for their points and should have secured the held up try. NZ and SA, both 3 times winners, just seemed to get the little bit of luck at the most crucial times, but it could be down to greater belief making that 'luck'
@@timbaker4253 You'll not be the most successful team in a couple of weeks, with SA on fire at the minute, being successful in the past clearly helps, but NZ got off to a dream start and just managed to hang on at the end, in the past the AB's would have been out of sight by half time. Ireland really needed a fast start to get the energy going.
@@geoffnelson6756learn some history grasshopper check the history. Since neutral referees came in you only win 28.5% against the Abs. You would need to win the next 30 tests in a row to be ahead of us in tests, ps we usually beat you at world cups as well
@@geoffnelson6756 Actually ABs are. 77%+ winning record and a winning record against EVERY nation. Boks record against ABs isn't even close so please, get used to it - deal with it
A Great Show once again Gentlemen. Take a Bow Fabian Galtie - a true tactian and Rugby Man. The Bokke showed they were almost buried but never gave up. A true hallmark of a quality side that fights for each other. ULTIMATELY, rugby has won.. Its a pity that the Host had to bow out against the world Champions so early in the Tournament. This Game felt like a final.. twist and turns until the final whistle. I would rather take a ugly win than a speculator loss... Go Bokke😊
Hi guys in the last 40years I follow rugby this game south africa vs France was one of greatest game in the rugby world cup, one of my American mate said to me ,your south African got Real Grit and it fits especially fit the Springboks, my words /GoYa GoJa Ama Bokkie/ bring it home
Agree Keo, French were outstanding and du Pont is pure class. He used those little running kicks over the mauls to huge affect and put the Boks under immence pressure. Not a bad tactic, never good to turn and run back to defending. Just saying 😉. The Boks desparation and fighting spirit won us the game.
Great chat as always, love it. Was waiting all day here in Brisbane for the video. Cmon bokke and all blacks, no banana peels in semis, gotta see the 95 rematch in the final
