glad ive found your channel...thanks for this video. Im 56 yrs old and im into low carb for a month now. actually, it's on and off..Lol! however, ive decided to take it seriously cuz i have some health issues like hypertension and fatty liver. Glad to know that youre a dietitian and we hope that you can share more about some low carb meals videos..thanks in advance. :)
Thanks so much for the nice feedback and for sharing your experience and plans! I'll put "Low carb meals" on my list of topics to cover. I wish you the very best on your low carb journey to better health 😊
If you're OK with your weight, but you like to eat low carb, should I give up cooked and cooled potatoes for resistant starch, and properly prepared beans for soluble fiber? I'm 72. And what about an apple a day? I benefit from taking MCT oil so it seemed like a low carb diet might now be a good idea for me, though I don't know why. I ate 137g of carbs today. No fruit today.
If cooked, cooled potatoes and well-prepared beans agree with you, then feel free to keep eating them. Same with an apple a day. It's all very individual. Those are all healthy foods, but some people don't tolerate them well or need to eat fewer carbs to feel well, keep blood sugar under control, etc.. Do what works for you 😊
@@franziskaspritzler-LCD That makes sense. I still, after all these years, tend to dwell on what foods I should eat. Sometimes fats with low carb meals, like home made cole slaw with home made mayonnaise, tomato, nuts, and sardines appeal to me, but last night I was eating bananas and sourdough bread with beans. But I still like to eat quite a bit of cruciferous vegs. So maybe I'll just do frequent low carb meals, and if I feel like bananas and sourdough bread at other times, or oatmeal, I'll just eat it when it appeals to me. Would it make sense to eat a low carb high fat meal at breakfast, and eat beans and more carbs with low fat at supper? Or would it be better if I ate low carb / high fat one day, and carbs / lower fat on a different day? If I stop eating fruit, I get too thin. I think I could stuff myself with potatoes, beans, vegetables, and fats like butter, nuts, and coconut oil, and still be too thin. Nice, well made videos. The sound quality is good, plus you have a gentle, kind face which is unusual, so I subscribed your channel. There are many videos that may have a topic I'm interested in, but when I can only hear about 25% of what's said, it's time to move on to some other video. Thanks for replying and also for putting in an effort to talk slowly and clearly.
@@josephrz6230 Thanks for your kind words. I've put making videos on pause because I'm busy with other things, but hopefully I'll get back to it at some point. As far as whether to eat low carb at breakfast and more carbs at dinner or to alternate between low-carb and higher-carb days, that's up to you. Experiment with both and see which one suits you best 😊
