Hi Mark from Sweden! As requested here is my current training program. Would like to hear your thoughts on it also how to put in deloads week. I do intermittent fast with a 4 hour feeding window 6 days a week, on saturdays I have an 8 hour feeding window. Food is mostly meat/chicken/fish with veggies, as little carbs as possible. I drink a protein shake as my only supplement to break the fast. Im a physician so my workload at work varies alot. I walk atleast an hour on lunch time about 10 000 steps every week day. Equipment available: 2 Kettlebell kings adjustable KBs, Adex club/mace/arc, 5kg fat handle mace. Every morning as warm up I do the 13 min mobility program and 5 min stretch, in the evening I do a 10 min warm up and 10 min stretch. I do clubs and mace in the morning and kettlebells in the evening. -Sunday morning 05.30 AM SA club program Mill/R-mill/ Swipe 8kg on a density cycle about 21 min evening 05:00 PM Pull ups 1xAMRAP + 4x3 ->(4x3 +1xAMRAP with resistance band) emom 10 min C&P program perfect path currently at 20kg and 22kg 7-20 min Swing program atm S/S H2H 10x10 22kg emom 10 min -Monday morning 2h club mill/sq8 program 9kg 20 min evening TGU atm (light) 28kg 6/6 (6 min) working up to 10/10 (10 min) Snatch 16x 5/5 (voulme cycle working up to 20 sets then add 1 kg and start over) DBL KB chest press 5x10 super set with amrap push ups every set. -Tuesday morning Mace flow (light) 20 min 5kg evening Slam ball program atm weight #2 25kg, level 1, 30 min -Wednesday morning SA club program inside circle/outside circle /shield cast (Heavy 9kg) volume cycle evening C&P program perfect path 2h kb swings 10x12 30kg (volume cycle 10 min emom) SA Row 5x 10/10 voulme cycle to ten sets start over with 1 kg -Thursday morning 2h club mill/sq8 program 9kg 20 min evening TGU atm (heavy) 30kg 2/2 LC dbl kb 12+12 kg 10 sets/min working up to 10 min from 4 min (not enirely sure how to progress here) DBL KB chest press 5x10 super set with amrap push ups every set. -Friday morning Heavy mace 9,5kg doin 10-2 and 360 alternating every min and switching top hand after 5 min for 10 min evening Slam ball program I recently sustained an injury on my sternoclavicular joint after a dbl kb chest press session and cant do dbl chest press without feeling pain afterwards. Any tips on developing my chest besides chest press and push ups?

I have also had nasty sternoclavicular problems since I started using a heavy Mace. My answer was to wind the weight right back and start on light weight volume cycles. 4kg Mace only for months now. I'm currently pressing a 20kg for 150 reps without issue. I'll start with the 6 kg mace this month...

Great video, as always! I also like to do variation of this using goblet hold and using double KBs. They challenge the body in different ways (& the double KB step ups are pretty taxing & an effective muscle builder).

Thanks for a great video once again! One thing I did not quite get: I understand that in this movement it's not good to lean forward, but saying it's bad overall feels weird. I use tall box step up with a huge lean as a glute activation (streghtening) movement and it has been great for my glutes and back. So my question is: Do you mean never lean forward in a step up or just in this exercise? Kiitos! from Finland, Timo.

@Bigb yeah, I'm interested in that cross body stabilization as part of understanding what are the tradeoffs of 1kb vs 2kb? 1kb pros - cross body stabilization, easier 2kb pros - ? What are implications on upper body for this exercise? I think it makes sense to alternate hands in sets.

The reason for one kettlebell is for core stability. Especially in the contralateral sense. The same reason people like Joe Rogan preach doing suitcase carry’s as opposed to farmers carry’s (suitcase carry’s are just single arm farmers carry’s) cause your core is forced to engage to keep you upright when one side has more weight than the other without leaning to either side. It turns a good workout into a better workout. If you want to increase weight, simply get a bigger kettlebell for that one hand and you will notice a drastic increase in difficulty. Single-arm weighted lifts such as the contralateral split squat are seen as much more difficult than if you had a weight in both hands for the split squat because you are working multiple muscles at once. Exercises with a weight in both hands are often seen as a progression working towards single hand in many different exercises for this reason.

Mark, I'm starting to work with Double over Head squats, do you think is better to do one hand over Head squats first or start with Double 24 kg is ok?

That really depends. On your mobility. If you are an Olympic lifter you can probably start with double. Everyone else will probably have to start with box squat single
