Just added one to my 2022 Toyota Camry SE stock audio system. Ideal for what I wanted.. fuller bottom end bass without being overly "boomy". Great addition for any stock system IMO. The unit is very heavy which surprised me in a good way.
I like everything separate because if one thing blows, you have to throw out the rest of it. Also, you can't switch things around if you decide to increase the amp or..
I have a stock Ford F-150 stereo. If I add this unit to my truck I have a question about the speaker hook up. Do I leave my rear stock speakers hooked up and then tap into the speakers with the spliced end of the RCA hook ups? Or do I buy a LOC and tap into the stock speakers and plug the RCA into the amp unit?
The question I have.. If you use an Amp for all your other speakers, can you just hook these speaker wires to the amp, and splice the power input for the amp to this sub, and put the fuse between the amp and the sub?
yes, you could hook up your hi level speaker outputs from the amp to your sub. You can splice into your amp power Just make sure you have thick enough wire that runs to your amp that can handle the added stress of the kicker sub, also make sure the fuse that is connected to your battery, can handle the added amperage being pulled. You may have to put a bigger fuse in. LEAVE THE FUSE THAT COMES WITH THE KICKER Power WIRE! Good luck! Don't forget to like and subscribe if you found this info helpful! Thanks!
So if I went this route I should not use the fuse that came with the sub, but make sure the fuse from the battery to the amp can handle both amp and sub.. Would that not make it more dangerous for the amp, or is the fuse supposed to protect the car battery and not the amp? Newb question, sorry. ha
USE THE FUSE THAT CAME WITH THE SUB. AND ALSO make sure the fuse from the battery to the amp can handle both amp and sub. Make sure there is a fuse inline wherever power is distributed.
this one was for a customer. But it sounded good enough to put into my personal vehicle. If I end up installing one in my vehicle I will upload a video! Thanks for watching!
Jaysen Walker yeah but who designed and made the woofer and amplifier that is inside it? have they used 105°c capacitors from a known good capacitor manufacturer? If not then don't expect it to last long... Some manufacturers build up a name for themselves and end up selling out in the name of profit and you end up with a paperweight.... kicker made some really good amplification back in the day but until someone opens one up and videos the components inside... we really won't know what we are really getting... I have opened up a Nakamichi four channel amplifier and discovered that the power supply and power amplifier which is on one PCB board was made by a cheap Chinese company that makes the same PCB boards for other brands as well... All I'm saying is that if you are paying for kicker, then you should be getting kicker... it's not really important where it's made... it's important who designed it... I won't support companies that sell themselves out because ultimately they are selling me out...
Goku Son why? I’ve read many mixed reviews on this. A lot of bad though. What would you recommend for something underseat? I have a 2005 CRV and don’t want to lose trunk space.
CHRISTOPHER FLORES I'm not sure about your car but it did fit under mine but its 6" high as for sound quality it depends on your needs. I needed a deep solid bass and this suits my need just fine
