There's a recall on them at the moment, however Kicker has already addressed the short circuit issue. They'll re-release them once they've done sufficient QC tests.

There is a recall on this model and Kicker is actually done addressing the issue, but they're running more quality control tests at the moment. Love that they were so quick to pull them off the market and fix the issues. For now, yes I would either wait a month or so .. or consider a different model like the Alpine Type S or R shallows.

How often do you have to re hang things on your wall/re hammer nails into your wall

In a hatchback you’d be fine with a single 8. Depends on how much space you wanna take up. At a certain point you go from what sounds really good to you to just feeling the bass and letting everybody else know you got a massive system in comparison to your vehicle. If you like heavy bass go with a single 10. You’d even feel it in your chest with the right set up. Go to a 12 if you want even more. If you want a balanced system with oem speakers go with a good 8 and you’ll still be able to hear mids and highs.

@@hailtothe_rooster1572 thank you for this, been looking around for some answers on this. Definitely enjoy the heavy bass, just not to the amount where everyone else hears it as you said. Just something like these down firing ones seems nice so that it doesn't take up a ton of room. But I know you lose some "punchiness" because of the size. So idk if a 10 would be fine or if a 12 would help make up for it.

I've heard this from time to time ... but at this point we've installed 100+ and haven't had a problem.

It's the Kicker 49PTRTP12. Do note there was a recent recall on it, but should be re-released shortly.
