Just played through this game with my 4 year old daughter. What a joy to share this game I played as a kid with my children. I watched this to get the exact position to grab onto the eagle lol
4:27 oh God, this is how technology made everything really easy. this failed me soooo many times that I always let my older brother help me at this. took me a few years before I could manage to safely get that egg.
Ah, playin' hard mode, eh? But you got plenty o' experience from the previous versions, so it was no trouble for ya at all! Do you plan to play the remakes of King's Quest II and King's Quest III in the future?
I think i play this game in 2015 (Now 2023) and really didnt know what to do. I stuck on Trolls bridge, that normph question, etc But i watch walkthrough and I play until this King has a child and the child as a Main Character Oh God, 8 years 😢
Syncretic Views Not according to the laws of this game. Besides, I'm pretty sure it's "endless gold to the general public" that would make gold useless. If he's careful not to spend too much, he'd be able to keep the ecomony in check. (Besides, apparently all but the mirror had been lost by the second game onwards.)
Not if you collected all 6 of the Infinity Stones and used them with the Infinity Gauntlet, thus destroying half of all gold in The Universe with the snap of a finger.
This has actually happened in real life to the Spanish Empire when it has occupied Latin America and has started to rob it of gold en masse in the 16-17 Centuries. As a result of this and a few other causes, it has lost to the UK as the strongest colonial maritime empire.
Yeah, Cedric was a wimp. “Oh nooo Grahaam, if you’re going in there, then I’ll wait for you out here!! 🦉 Yeah Cedric, thanks for having my back all those times I got killed, while you waited outside.
Slingshot can be used against the giant instead of tiring him out. Apparently the golden egg, gold walnut, and diamond pouch can all be given to the troll to pay his toll, rather than using the goat. No idea why they give so many options for a single obstacle when others have extremely specific solutions lol. When I played I tried to give the starving family the diamonds but the guy said only food would help. My dude, money can be exchanged for food...
Reacting to your comment almost a year later, but here's the catch about the gnome's name: Rumplestiltskin is the real name of the gnome, Ifnkovhgroghprm is his name spelled using a backwards alphabet (a=z etc). Another variation of his name is Nikstlitselpmur, which is simply his name spelled backwards.
*I HAVE always had an issue* with how simplistic Graham looks, considering the fact he is a nobility. Even poor knights wore more sophisticated clothes than that. Also, most events happen just a few meters away from the castle, so, basically, the castle staff would be able to do most of the job on their own without much of an issue, no knights or crown as a reward needed. Almost anyone could have climbed the tree for the golden egg or throw a bucket of water at an anaemic, harmless dragon. All kinds of wolves, trolls, ogres would have been long killed off before the game starts. Finally, most things Graham does make no sense from any rational viewpoint.
get DosBox and find the file, or try this www.agdinteractive.com/games/kq1/download/download.html I just googled abandoned games kings quest. look hard enough it's around...
The scenery looks nice but Graham's character art looks cheap - why isn't Graham more knightly? He looks like a kid. Narrator's voice is terrible too, lol
