King Viserys arrive to secure Rhaenyra place to inherit the iron Throne | House Of The Dragon. 

He was like: "I shall save my daughter today. I might not be there to protect her again, but by God I will do it today."

Not going to lie, I stood up and cried at this scene! One last move to protect his daughter.

He may have been “unworthy”, but never has there been a more badass moment by a King to sit that throne on screen. He was finally tested, as he hoped to be, and he passed his test.

You can see how much it hurts Daemon to see his brother this way . Daemon truly loves Viserys and this scene alone shows it all .

I JUMPED of happiness at this...I was so proud of Viserys! Finally standing up for his beliefs, not allowing ANYONE to have control over him...so powerful and so tragic at the same time.

You literally can feel every single step Viserys is taking. His pain, his disappointments, his legacy. It's an absolutely fantastic scene!

For those who critique King Viserys I for not doing more to stop the Dance of the Dragons, I think this episode proves such claims false. In his last days, fighting through the agony of his diseased body, slowing mind, and the Stranger shadowing his every step, Viserys did everything in his power to defend the rights of Rhaenyra and her children and to mend the divide between his children and grandchildren. The fault for the Dance lies not on his shoulders but on those who chose greed and envy above loyalty and family. For thirty years, he kept the peace created by his grandsire, King Jaehaerys I, who took the Six Kingdoms conquered by Aegon and made them one. He may not have been among the greatest of the Targaryen Kings, but no one can deny that he was a good one. Long live Viserys of House Targaryen, First of His Name, King of the Andals, the Rhoynar, and the First Men, Lord of the Seven Kingdoms, and Protector of the Realm.

Many tears were shed during this scene.

It's like watching the main character in the first game you played helping the new main character before he dies

When she was named to be the heir to the iron throne in the first episode, he was there sitting on the throne, her position was rightfully ensured by his presence. Now when it's going to be taken away from her, he came, said to Otto that 'he's going to sit on the throne today', to secure and make sure that when it's him on the throne, nothing could go wrong, no one will take that away from his daughter, to protect his beloved daughter for the last time. Props to Paddy, he has delivered the best King Viserys we could have ever imagined. One of my most favorite scenes. Powerful.

I mean HOW Alicent could possibly think that the king was talking about her son taking the throne and saving the realm when he went though hell in this scene only to show his support to Rhaenyra's legitimacy as his successor. Alicent keeps making bad choices and believing only what she wants to believe

Rhaenyra looks so much with her mother here. And when Viserys looked upon her face, I immediately thought he was seeing not only his favorite daughter but his beloved wife too! Such an emotional scene, I can get enough of watching it!

When Viserys walked into the throne room, the only people who smiled were Helaena and Rhaenyra. Viserys really loved his daughters and they were proud of him.

Probably the most powerful scene yet. Viserys has been bowed and humbled by the weight of the crown, but, despite being physically impaired, he was the strongest person in that room and everyone felt his presence. The Greens were shocked and afraid. They knew their scheming would not prevail and they were afraid of the repercussions. The Blacks, who were demoralized and battered politically, rallied and united. After looking at her beloved cousin, Rhaenys knew that she herself could have been in the same position that Viserys finds himself in now, humbled and bowed by the crown. She saw what he was willing to go through for his daughter and this powerful act was enough to finally throw her support to Rhaenyra. Daemon saw his brother finally making the stand he always wanted him to do and was compelled to finally lend aid to his brother, even if it was something as small as picking up the crown and helping him sit

This is such a powerful scene, the acting from Paddy was out of this world.

He looked at Rhaenyra, saw Aemma, and knew what he needed to do.

Not once did he look at Alicent. When he’s walking down the aisle and we see from his POV, Rhaenyra is ahead of him. She stands out from the rest, he’s looking at her. When he’s approaching the stairs, he turns and he looks at Rhaenyra. Not Alicent, not Aegon, not Daemon-Rhaenyra. And the slow panning of the camera over her from his POV as he walks past. This has to be the most powerful moment in the show so far. He’s done many things he isn’t proud of and he lost the love of his life to his own fault, but if he’s going to do one thing right, by god, he’s going to defend Rhaenyra with his last bit of strength.

Everyone talked about rhaenyra, dameon, Alicent and Otto reaction to Viserys entrance; Rhaenys reaction struck the most, she look aways thus bowing her head and look deep in though. As if she can't look at the true cost of ruling, an in rare moment of doubt, wonder if she would have been able to do the same thing that her cousin is doing right now

I heard in her interview with the HBO podcast that the director Geeta realized halfway through shooting: Viserys was walking towards his daughter not the throne. He was doing this for her once and for all. ❤

For the love of God give this man all the awards he deserves it

I am surprised by people saying things like "now I respect him" or "I thought he was a bad king until this episode". Many people have been clearly missing details, cause It was pretty clear all the time that he was a good man always trying to do the right thing, while the crows were flying around him, trying to get some meat. He has been a lovely father, culturized man and merciful and wise king for the entire season, but people were just judging him because he loved his family so much that never wanted for It to fall apart because of him. And this says a lot about the times we are living in.

This scene was incredible

Probably one of the most emotive performances I’ve witnessed in a LONG time. Paddy Considine really gave Viserys a certain humanity which was absent in ‘Fire and Blood’ and this scene in particular gave me genuine goosebumps, so much so, that I haven’t been able to stop thinking about it all day, and had to come back just to see it again. My heart ached watching it the second time, just as it did the first. He really deserves every award he’s likely to be nominated for, and I’d be surprised if we see this calibre of performance for a while.

What a beautiful display of strength. Not traditional strength in terms of combat, but the strength to ignore your suffering and agony to defend your family if only for one last day.

Viserys performance is just stunning, but let's also take a moment to apreciate how Rhaenyra looks at him on his way to the throne, with that child face and those innocent eyes, like she was drag back in time 15 years in just a second. They both loved each other madly.

What makes this beautiful is that it’s the last day of his life. He probably knew this, and did it anyways to mend his broken family

I think he knew he couldn’t fix all the mess he made by his complacency and couldn’t fix the mess they made by their impulsiveness .. but on this day he wanted to show up for the daughter born from the love of his life .. if nothing else Rhae and Daemon know that Viserys loved them dearly .

Monster Scene top to bottom!!!! The entrance, the music, the walk, the one liner “ I will sit the throne today” and punctuated by Daemon helping him up the stairs….absolutely amazing. Pulls the heart strings and gives you chills. Viserys is at his weakest but had the strongest moment here and showed he was a worthy King. Bad ass scene. (Up there with Jon Snow Battle of the Bastard scene, hands down!)

Daemon may be a ruthless guy, but he really cares about his family. The way he supports Vyseris at the hardest moment and helps him out with the crown is so touching. Daemon clearly loves his brother and Rhaenyra and supports them, even though earlier he wanted the Iron Throne for himself.

I love how nobody but Rhaenyra can even hold his eye as Viserys crosses to the throne. Otto, Alicent, even Daemon, they all look away. But Rhaenyra doesn't blink. She alone can look him in the eye, because she alone has no reason to feel guilty for doing so.

He arrived like an Elden Ring Boss

He loved Aemma & Rhaenyra more than anything.

Even at this state, more rotten corpse than a man, there's still a fire in his soul. He truly was one of the best Targaryen out there, not because he was the smartest or a conqueror, but by the strenght of his will and the size of his soul, he proved time again and again, that he was the right man for the job, and worthy of sitting on the Iron Throne.

Even the strongest of men pale in comparison to the strength viserys eminates in this scene. The man's body is frail and literally decaying day by day, yet he musters all his strength to support his daughter and heir one last time. I like how nobody is saying a word, they just bow, truly showing him the respect he commands and deserves. What an epic scene. Farewell King Viserys, you'll be missed!

I can't be the only one who cried during this scene. I was so moved that King viserys came to speak on his daughter behalf. Even in all the pain he was in. He still came to protect/ defend his daughter.

Paddy Considine gave an absolutely perfect performance for which he deserves all the honors and awards. Even a tear dropped... not just one. His scene in the throne room and the last journey to the Iron Throne = for me, this is one of the strongest and best filmed and soundtracked scenes in the entire GoT/HotD universe + of course the icing on the cake in the form of Daemon, who helped the king to the throne. This is exactly what we need to see and not just the mindless, generic, soulless action (last two/three seasons of GoT) that apparently belongs to this great audience who criticize the show for being boring. I sincerely feel sorry for such people if they are not able to take advantage of such a brilliantly written series with great acting.

Viserys clearly loves his daughter. Even when he knew his grand sons are bastards, he defended his daughter. Now that's unconditional love. What an entrance. He'd die to save & defend his daughter. This scene right here 😭😭😭😭.

Rhaenyra's concern for his father was very evident. I don't see it with Allicent's children.

Never have I ever been so proud of him. Despite being gravely ill, he still managed to walk to the Iron Throne without being carried and still had the look and the regalia of a king and I especially loved the look that he gave Otto Hightower and everyone else that said, 'I am still the boss, bitches, now suck it!'

The song was absolutely perfect in every way. It matched this scene completely. It was sad, majestic, kingly and awe inspiring all rolled into one.

I can't think of a better scene in all of television for at least 5 years.

The way I wasn’t expecting Viserys to show up during this scene completely caught me off guard and moved me to tearssss. I couldn’t believe it and the complexity of it all is just phenomenal. You can really feel just how serious the situation is. He knows once he’s gone all hell is gonna break loose… it’s soo sad😭

Paddy Considine on playing King Visreys: "From the minute of his wife’s funeral, I think Viserys starts to die. It’s a slow death. Nowhere in the story does Viserys ask the maesters to cure him, to stop this thing from eating him alive. I think he accepts it as part of the guilt of the decision he makes to put his wife through a terrible, horrible procedure. It’s like people who surrender to illness. When they offer suggestions to cure him, he doesn’t bother with it. He lets it consume him. He surrenders. That was my thing for him, anyway." ~The New York Times That considered, I think aside from this being one last shield to his daughter, it was one last apology to his wife for the decision he made for her.

This was the best scene of anything in ASOIAF related media since like season 4 or 5 of Game of Thrones.

Viserys didn't need a war to show bravery and strength. This was such a powerful moment, when the music swells. His daughter asked for his help, and he came through for her. Absolutely amazing writing and acting.

Such strong scene - how he walks in, how everybody is astonished and afraid, and I adore how Raenyra looks at her father with so much gratitude and love... It is obvious that Raenyra was Viserys's most loved child, his firstborn, his heir, his pride and joy and all his hopes for future of the dynasty. And he died thinking of her and her mother, his first beloved wife...

Amazing performance. I cry every time I see this. He showed up for her. That's what dads are supposed to do. And he knew he needed to suffer to be able to stand up for her and his grandkids to protect them and their position/ lives. As a daughter whose dad never showed up and never did as he promised, this was everything ❤️. Even if fictional.
