+xickin Lol, I found this comment in another Marluxia Battle, thought I'd just share it here, "What did Marluxia whisper to Sora?" "Marluxia: Your ass is mine after 99 hits"
I do love that they were able to implement some of his physical comedy into the gameplay, even if it was probably an accident, (but isn't that the best kind of physical comedy?)
Barricade2091 bounced back inbetween puddles of rose juice (I know for a fact that sakura petals are pink and roses have thorns, so I’m certain Marluxia is rosary beauty not sakura senpai) Yes I came up with those nicknames
Master Xehanort he's better in Kingdom Hearts 1 and 2 then he is in chain of Memories where he might accidentally heal bosses like Hades, axle, or vexen.
This video’s older, but I gotta say that it’s nice to see someone not completely destroy this fight and actually struggle a bit. The counter reaching 1 and you managing to restore it was exciting. I watch so many videos from speedrunners and crazy restriction challenges that it’s nice to see more average play.
i just dont get how you have no fucking problem with this around level 30, reflect isnt even fully upgraded, and ur using th Kingdom Key, while i'm over level 50, all magic is fully upgraded, life bar has passed Magic bar, using the Oblivion keychain....and I STILL CANNOT BEAT THIS GUY?!
James Vega I know the feeling... It's not I'm bad at it, I just have shitty luck with the pool placement and my block never works in time... think I need to get a wired controller.
I thought originally you couldn’t restore the counter and would have to really utilize dodging but when I saw the option to restore counter i was happy lol
@@theelementalphoenix5549 Saix comes fourth, maybe. Xemnas is Xehanort who doesn't need an explanation. He is simply the strongest even without the power of Kingdom Hearts Xigbar is Luxu, who may in the same level of power as Xehanort is. But he doesn't have this Keyblade as has lost to several characters whose death wouldn't affect the Book of Prophecies such as Aqua or Roxas. As such he is second because of circumstance. Now, Marluxia's boss battle at the end of CoM (especially Re:CoM) imply that he is really powerful. A lot. He also used to be a former Keyblade wielder; which seems to be a direct applicant in the strength of Nobodies. At that he comes third That's my idea, at least
Have you ever gotten to a point where your about to die like facing a hard boss... and then at the last minute when your about to die Donald just yells " Sora " and then heals you and then you keep going 😂
His moves gets really predictable after some practice. I remember thinking that he's really hard and after finally beating him i went into his data fight and beat him with no sweat
@ThiccTiger456 I more than once was grinding levels and realized I went off course because I just kept killing nobodies having fun with just regular combat. Grinding was fun!
@@megnugget2631 at least minus the drive forms, especially when they all start at level 1, making me question why I get one at the end of the game if it's just going to be underpowered less I spend 5 hours grinding it.
God I hope in KH3 they make Donald and Goofy, but mostly Donald, actually useful companions. There's no point to bringing them back to health since they die literally seconds after.
Donalds pretty consistent with healing me in dire situations. So I've never had a problem with him. Except in re:chain where he was used elemental magic that restored the life of whomever I was fighting.
@@porp109 ok man wtf is with his AI?!?! Literally every person I saw comment about donald and his healing all say the same thing. He uses healing on me after I have healed myself already -___-
Finnaly beat him yesterday. Had to try so many times and level up to level 67, syntesising defense boost and learning to time the guards just right but i won. I screamed of joy when i won him. :D
That restore count command is damn near essential to winning if you suck at dodging like I do. It took me about ten tries at about level 58-60 (it was before I fought Xemnas). Conversely, a level higher and I beat Sephiroth in 3 tries. I dread this fucker's data battle.
You can actually interrupt the move he does with the three big circles on the floor. As soon as he disappears wait at the center of the arena (might require practice to getting used to) also make sure to keep some distance between you and the center. When he is starting to appear, run forward and hit attack to initiate the dash attack, as this is the only move that is fast enough to interrupt him (regular attack is too slow). If you are too close to him, you will initiate a regular attack instead and it will phase through him. If I have to guess, it’s about a 300 ms window, so once you nail the timing, you can stop him from ever using that move until he gets into his final phase.
Yeah, they touched up on some more stuff than just graphics. Like in BBS, Terra's armor after the final fight suddenly grows a cape to look like the Lingering Will more when he didn't grow the cape on the PSP.
Marluxia is just flat out my favorite KH character in general. There's so much more to him than a lot of people like to think. Others who dislike him or don't know him would think he was flamboyant, gay and a pushover because of his love for flowers and pink. The fact he's cool and collected, knows what he wants, gets what he wants without trouble, how he's associated with the Grim Reaper by Japanese standards. His scythe, the blossoms in the wind and the color pink for examples. Not to mention that his power over flowers and plants could honestly be one of the more deadly abilities any of them could have. Would you want to fight someone who could easily poison the air with flower toxins or control throny vines? I wouldn't. Assuming he'd be able to do so. You can extinguish fire, vaporize water, melt ice, etc... But what will you do if the air's been contaminated by toxins from a plant? You can kill it, but the air cannot be purified so easily. Plus, the man's gorgeous. Lmao Ahh, I rant.
The middle part actually looks like the hardest part... Thanks for this video. Was good to see what to do if I messed up and got hit. Nice job using the delay in form change to your advantage as well.
I just realized Kingdom Hearts 2 used an Ultra Wide Camera Angle. It's the perfect camera for this type of game and part of what made gameplay so buttery smooth.
The hardest attack to block for me was the one where instead of burrowing "underground" during phase 2 towards Sora, Marluxia simply hops over and starts meleeing him. It always caught me off-guard and I was rarely able to guard it. Oh well, Marluxia's good and dead now...until I fight the data version :D
+99RedRedfake Haha yeah. In another video (by ZSlyer) that player responded to this situation by quick-running across the deadly pools to another side of the arena and evaded the attack that way. Another time when Marluxia unexpectedly did the twirly-windy scythe maneuver that gives you the RC (such technical terms, I know :P) he jumped + aerial dodged to evade that one. So I guess just watch Marluxia closely, and if he doesn't transform into petals, be ready to quick run?? It all happens so fast too.
For everyone having trouble with this guy i have one piece of advice after he makes the pools there is one of two things he'll do. If he doesn't jump then from the time he makes the pools you have 5 seconds before he comes at you with both explosion trap and a wheel attack at the same time. A guard at exactly 5 seconds after the pools are made will ensure your safety and a chance to attack. Also with experimentation i have learned the pools are made of DARK magic so if your wearing some Dark magic resistance they won't outright kill you at least at my level of 54. It took me two hits of falling into them i had around 20%hp after a hit. I used Quick Run and Guardian Soul key blade and finally beat him. Also on his third stage use quick run right as everything goes dark and he appears on top of you. angle it kind of in a square and the dark magic won't even touch you. Good luck!
This fight was fun on Level 1. Challenging and it admittedly kicked me til I laid on the floor crying in a pool of my own tears at times, but still pretty fun.
Do you know if those dark Pools that Marluxia Summons are actually dark elemental? Because if they are, then this fight would be a joke with enough dark resist. Those things do WAAAY too much damage.
This fight gets easier if your higher levelled, as the count over Sora matches his level. So, if you are doing a level 1 run, you are gonna get fucked.
I didn’t know I could use limit form as a defense when it’s first used😂 I had him one hit and I was one it and just spamming reflect praying it would work.. long story short I lost lol
The absent silhouettes were pretty easy at mid 40's on crit... guard + growth abilities...My problem with the data battles is the sephiroth level hp and lack of decent damage done to them... anyone got any ideas or should i just make power boosts? Keyblade is ultima weapon
Well what you have to realize is power boosts don't do much 1 at a time and fenrir is a 1 str boost over ultima weapon while lowering your magic by i think 3, in reality you best bet would be yes farm for those items to make def, and str boosts but at the same time lvl is the most important factor for you if skill isn't your primary play style, the data fights are ridiculous on crit mode and rightfully so, work on level and learning the attack patterns of the enemies, block timing on the enemies is crucial, and for enemies like the Lightning bitch, reflect might be your best friend
Chris Milton if you aren't using magic at all its pointless to equip ultima for certain situations. Rumble rose and fenrir would be better because of extra combo boost and the shit ton of damage dishes out after the combo. Just like jow photon is good for if u like spamming thundgara for certain reason like for one of heartless forgot what number I think 6? Oblivion is also good and is in the top 5 keyblades that should be used throughout the game.
Chris Milton also he's using kingdom key because of its critical damage halve passive it gives. Like I said most keyblades are viable for different situations.
As far as i like The 13th Reflection. I kinda wished the game used Scythe of Petals or a remix of it in the battle, that music only got used *once* and that is 2nd form Marluxia. I know theres mods but should've been in vanilla tbh.
Honestly I was 100%ing this and now I'm not. This fight is stupid. He just spams attacks and wastes your actual time. I don't really enjoy it and watching you do this makes me more certain that it's cool to not bother anymore. Kind of a bummer but god damn some of these fights are just annoying.
You know for an optional boss, Marluxia actually seems pretty easy to beat. I'm still disappointed they didn't decide to let him reuse his giant mech body.
yeah his little doom counter gimmick sorta works against him most attacks dont do damage and if your high level this shouldnt be a problem i really want marluxia to be in kh 3 but if he is then i expect a much better kit with his abilities
All the other absent silhouettes had a distinct strategy to win. Vexen was spamming fire and quick run, Zexion was coordinating bursts, Lexeaus was just plain easy..Larexene was to go to a corner then block her attack and counter/merge clones....But this guy has no set strategy. Requires fast reflexes and general skill. Funnest fight ever xD.
God this boss is such bullshit. Beaten him at level 43 with no glide, those pools are the bane of mankind without glide man. Easy boss, but if you're not careful he will just *push* you into the pool even if you block an attack. So annoying.
this fight made me realize that i sucked at the game... and i had to learn to use guard properly. it was far more difficult than sephiroth... i don't think i even want to attempt his data fight asjshd
how does you get the rng in your favour? or was it just easier on the ps3? This arsehole always uses that vine explosion with an attack that launches you when those 3 pits are up. Either you take the hit and jump so your stunned in the air and lose 1/3 of health, or you use reflectaga to block it and get launched into the 3 pits. either way you die.
Spent like 4 hours on him on Critical difficulty today. That second phase was a bitch. Great fight. I wondered if Reflect would work on the Thorn debuff but instead decided on Whirligoof limit and the Limit Form Invulerability times.
Marlxuia's scythe can not damage you, only his flower attacks can. Above Sora's head is a counter. If Sora is level 99, Marluxia had to hit Sora 99 times with his scythe for Doom to take effect and kill Sora. The number changes depending on your level. Ifou're at level 1 on critical mode, the scythe is a one hit kill.
this is SO BORING!!! its like: mash X 15 times, wait for your only combo ever to restart, then wait for a quick time event and let the game beat itself. it can be entertaining the first time, but so many games with the same gameplay, the same simple combo, the same mechanics... it gets boring. you might as well be watching a movie. cutscenes with cute anime characters are good, actually. the voice acting is not bad.
KH2, Days, and Birth By Sleep. Same mechanics. lol no. Also you don't have to mash the attack button. That will usually get you killed on Critical Mode.
