0:53 Will go down in history for me as one of the greatest dunky moments, right up there with psycho mantis Literally I haven't seen this video in years and randomly remembered that specific moment and came back just for it
The voice actors pause between every sentence so the player can have time to reflect on how awkwardly spoken and poorly put together each line of dialogue is.
"Who writes this shit?!" The primary issue with Square Enix and every game they make besides main-line _Final Fantasy_ titles-and even then, results may vary.
Freed Justine As an avid gummi-ship constructor, looking at that abomination of a ship broke something in me. ...the end result was me laughing for three straight minutes.
Kingdom Hearts is a FANTASTIC GAME. I'm shocked by the hate in the comments. Maybe you were too old for this game at the time, but for younger people this game hit the absolute spot. Everything about it was perfect. Nice RPG elements, easy combat but still pretty fun, story was all over but still pretty good. One of the best games. I never played the other games in the series though
"Everything about it was perfect" This is where you cross the line into sounding like a giant fanboy. The combat in the first game isn't that good and is mainly consists of hitting the X button 3 times in a row. The series got better as it went along and at this rate they need to stop padding it out and just end it. Seriously your comment looks like you typed it off a note card and feels like an advertisement. Settle down
MrZurata Real fanboy, never played another game in the series. Lol, yeah I'm advertising a game that's like 10 years old. No idea what you're babbling on about. There aren't a ton of games that aren't X-X-X. Darksouls is basically R1-R1-L1/O-O and people jizz over that gameplay, so eh. I can name a bunch of RPGs with less interesting mechanics. It was perfect for me at the time and for the targeted audience of this game.
GEM4sta I played I and II, The first one wasn't as great as you make it sound, it has it's moment for having some great story elements. But the combat was that of it's time; comboing with repeatedly pressing X. While that isn't really all there was to it, in essence that's basically all you had to do. The difficulty and depth of the combat system was increased a little in KH II. Both have their merits and weaknesses. The originality and character acting being the first's merit, and non-linear play, secrets, etc. The second was a better combat system, with a quite enjoyable story, but the linear gameplay, lack of enthusiasm from the cast, and generally mediocre acting would probably be it's fault. Neither combat system was amazing, but it stood out more in II. And I loved the series, I played them all the way through. It wasn't perfect, a good game, and great for me as a fanboy. But it definitely wasn't Tales of Symphonia or Final Fantasy(Pre-11).
I've never played kingdom hearts, but 1:58 gives me chills. I think that even in this joke video, the dunk manages to encapsulate what i assume is the selling point for kingdom hearts: an adventure with the unconventional characters of disney worlds. Ik this is a lot of speculation for a game ive never played, but it just feels so right
Yes that does capsulate what kingdom hearts is. If that gives you chills you really should try kingdom hearts there is a collection of the games on current hardware almost always on sale you should try it out:)
yes i love this game, so fun and nostalgic it made me realize how bad voicing sounds when there are awkward unnecessary pauses in between dialogue, ESPECIALLY when they're talking to themselves they don't even do it that much in cutscenes when they're talking to other people
I’ve thought about trying to retry to finish this game many times over the years. This video has done a perfect job of reminding me that there’s no need.
Tetsuya Nomura walks into the Square Enix and Disney meeting room. 'I have decided to have Kingdom Hearts 3 undergo a name change,' he says. 'To what?', half the room says. The room is silent for 3 minutes straight- Nomura breaks the silence. 'Dunkalees.'
congrats. in 2021, this video inspired me to replay the entire Kingdom Hearts franchise. I know that was your purpose in making this video, so great job, Dunkey, as always.
