I can't believe I used to sit there among the drones (i came in from "the world" ) and would clap after watching these cringy videos. I was baptized officially in January 2017 and officially dissociated in October 2020 and definitely will never go near these people again. all this heart wrenching lyrics and the video is sposed to just melt you back into that horrible cult.....been df'd for 40 yrs. and even tho my now deceased parents triied in vain to convince me to come back I NEVER would, esp. now we are all finding out how bad and hypocritical they all are.

When we push the teachings of Jehovism to the limit, we quickly realize that it often becomes very, very bizarre. My mom died in an accident in 2018. My dad hopes to be reunited with his wife after Armageddon. When I remind him that in (earthly) paradise he will not be able to continue his married life with his (resuscitated) wife, it hurts his stomach. When I tell him that mom will no longer look like the woman he knew physically, it upsets him. This is what the toxic doctrines that are making JWs sicker and sicker look like. My father does violence to himself not to imagine himself in the arms of another woman in paradise while mom would look at them without feeling the slightest pain as if she had been reprogrammed by removing certain elements from her memory. This "idyllic" image freezes my blood and looks more like an unhealthy episode of "The Twilight Zone" than a marvelous paradise.

I'm a "lifer" too. When I think about my childhood, I used to feel pain, betrayal, loss, the kind of darkness that I couldn't escape. At 51 yrs now, I choose to see it as an education. I have skills! Walking on eggshells, never forming a single successful bond with another human being, superhuman strength, xray vision when it comes to liars, complete independence. I believe now that I chose these people to be my parents, because I needed to be hardened, sharpened and focused. You had me rollin, btw! My Dad was an elder before I was born... Nice to hear your insights!

Bible believing Christian here - converted at age 20. Most joyful experiences in my life - getting married, birth of daughter, and spiritual euphoria experiences of knowing Jesus loves me, or knowing that all my sins are forgiven, or that I have no guilt, or no fear of death, or that God is perfectly happy with me, or that Jesus has died for all my sins and is interceding for me before the Father, and the Father loving me as his adopted child, or knowing that Jesus has taken all my sins away and that God considers me righteous in His sight because of Jesus, or knowing that if I died today I would be in the presence of Jesus immediately, or longing for seeing Jesus face to face, or knowing the Holy Spirit indwells me as His Temple. So those are all spiritual experiences that I've had over the years. Surprisingly, I'm a Christian because I think there are good philosophical arguments for the existence of God. I've studied them and read arguments for and arguments against. I'm also a Christian because I think there is good historical evidence that 1) Jesus of Nazareth really existed and died on a cross 2) that there is good historical evidence that his tomb was empty and that that his students saw Him alive and ate and drank with him 3) and that these are best explained by Jesus being alive. I don't think the hallucination theory or any of the other explanations are credible. Third, I'm a Christian because I think after studying prophecy, I really think Jesus fulfilled prophecy in his life death and resurrection. That's why. When I've studied major world religions like Islam I don't see any good evidence and plenty of self contradiction. I've had the same experience studying smaller religions like Mormonism and Jehovah Witnesses. I've had similar experiences when studying the history of philosophy and looking at different secular philosophies. Graduation from college was more of a relief and baptism at age 20 was also a joyful experience, just not at the same level. Thanks for sharing your thoughts. It was saddening to hear about all the lies you were taught growing up and the abuse you suffered. I know that among Bible believing Christians there is often concern about the blood transfusion deaths, the non scholarly watchtower Bible translation, and the ever changing Watch tower doctrines, and their denial that Jesus is Jehovah, that Jesus died on a cross (he had nails, and the sign above his head, which shows is not a stake), and that Jesus rose physically from the dead, their annihilation ism, and their origin in Charles Taze Russell's spilt with Sunday Adventism, which originated with the false 1844 2nd coming date setting (when Jesus taught us not to set dates!). Or that birthdays are evil (no, evil men do evil things on their birthday, while Job and John the Baptist speak of the day of their birth in a positive manner). You may have seen the ex-JW talk 'Majoring on the Minors' where a Bible Christians refutes the 'arguments' that he was trained in all his life about crosses, birthdays, Christmas, etc. If you haven't I recommend it, you can search for it on RU-vid. It may be helpful.

It's a year now? It was only 6 months to get reinstated when I went back before I left again. That was in about 1976. I guess the organisation has realised that enough reinstated people leave again so they want to really really make sure that you aren't going to leave again. Bad for morale.

Did that women"leave Jehovah" so she could get an education and a descent job? What about the old man in the cemetery? Was his daughter a blood transfusion martyr? The older Asian man, I assumed that the baby he was handed at the kingdom hall was his grandchild he had been kept from while his children shunned him. Why was he disfellowshipped?
