KITCHEN FAUCET HAS NO WATER PRESSURE HOT SIDE 

Forcing the water out the clogged line worked for us! Thank you for this video. It saved the cost and hassle of a new faucet.

FIXED. Happened to me too. Removed the hot side hose From the supply pipe (which was the side that was restricted). Put the end into a bucket. Turned on the cold side and wiggled the handle up and down and back and forth til it blasted a chunk of crap out the hose. Reconnected and all is good! Didn’t have to replace a $200 faucet

This is why I do my own plumbing at 86 yrs old!

I put a clip (like for a bag of chips) on the black water line that connects to the faucet head to keep it from retracting back in. That happened once and it took me over an hour to feed it back out from under the sink and then grab it so I could reconnect it.

I was ready to see what I needed to do to my faucet and then realized this video was no help BUT the ending made it worth the 15minutes! 😂

Thank you so much for your great video! I had the exactly same issue. I tried a couple of things by myself but did not work. Then I saw your video and followed the same exact way to use cold water pressure to push out debri in a hot water line. It worked great! Now my faucet is like new. I was thinking to buy new like your customer. You saved me $200! You are a great plumber!

After watching another RU-vid channel regarding a slow flow on the hot water side, I was able to solve my problem. The other channel showed how to clean the flow resrictor first which is the white plastic part connected to the black spigot hose. I found some debris but still had a weak hot side. The plumber in this video did not have the patience to find the correct Allen wrench (3/32“) to remove the the handle. After removing the handle and cartridge, I found a large piece of rust wedged in the hot water tube. I pushed it in and back flushing produced two chunks of rust. Faucet works like the same day I bought it. Like the plumber said at the beginning of the video, it's Friday and he doesn't normally do faucet repairs. Unfortunately customer had to pay for a new faucet. BTW, the faucet is a Kohler!

This was an exact replacement for the old one that lasted about 10 years. ru-vid.comUgkx7yWIKcrbA9KMHkGSfcgxW2lsjHT6B8Sh The top of my mitigation tube by my roofline was just a 90 elbow which allowed too much debris to fall down into the fan, eventually ruining it. Without this issue, I bet it would have kept running another 10 years. When I replaced this fan, I added an extra elbow joint so the top tube now it does a 180, which should solve that problem. The radon guys around here wanted to charge me a $300 diagnostic fee, then parts/labor (probably close to $600 total). I installed this all by myself in about an hour for the cost of the fan; it would probably be even easier/faster with two people. FYI the manufacturer's warranty greatly differs depending on whether you install it yourself (1 yr warranty) or have a licensed installer do it (10 yrs).

Thanks to your video I finally got under the sink to tackle the weak hot water flow. Turns out the shut off valve had disintegrated and stuffed all its rubber seal chunks up into the faucet filter. Replaced valve, cleaned out filter, done and done. Cheers.

Hats off to plumbers. They have more patience than I can understand. All I've known have been mild mannered, laid back guys. I despise plumbing. Usually when something needs fixing connections to it are awkward, difficult to see, and even painful to get reach. Over the years, I've done several fixes. Some without calling a professional, even though I should have more often, especially those jobs so difficult I've felt like just setting the house on fire instead. I'm here because I'm trying to figure out how to solve a no pressure problem on the hot side of my kitchen Pfister faucet. Good video because I haven't tried the back flush thing. Thanks. Thanks for this video! Had pieces of the old hot water shut off valve gasket clogging the line. Worked to blow out the line with cold water pressure.

Tried blowing water through with my mouth haha. Definitely not the kind of pressure I needed to blow out the sediment in the hot line. This video worked like a charm! Blasted out a thimble's worth of rust from the hot line and now pressure is back to normal. Thanks for the great idea!

Had the same problem, thought it was the recently purchased delta foundation hot side of valve or line feed. After purchasing another unit, discovered that I had the same problem? Recalling that I had just changed out a bad shutoff valve in the basement on the hot line from the water heater; I decided to check the new flex line under the sink. Found major blockage, debris from the old valve that was replaced earlier. Unfortunately, I did three installs and extractions of the unit.

I tie a rag around the hose so you don’t have have someone constantly holding it so it doesn’t retract down through faucet. Just a tip if it helps anyone.

I have same issue only Now it’s hot and cold , it started as just hot side. I gotta give plumbers credit working under the sink is brutal.

My problem was that little tiny white plastic piece inside the faucet head, debris inside that. Your video really helped.

Out hot water pressure was very low for months and saw this video and took my faucet spray head off like you did but didn't hold onto the hose and of course the hose went into the faucet housing 🙄. So when I was under the sink pushing the faucet hose back up I saw the hot water turn off valve and thought, hmm maybe it's just not turned all the way on duh! Now the pressure is normal.

Chuck you should keep all different kind of aerator keys in your truck . If that didn’t work then I would change the shut off valves . Calcium builds in there and slows down water pressure. If that didn’t work then change the faucet and supply lines .

Low hot pressure.. After trying everything in your video, plus replacing hot supply valve and both supply lines (flex from valves), plus taking out the cartridge and taking the aerator head apart then flushing both, I still had low pressure only on the hot side. Backflushing the supply line had no effect, but... Backflushing the short lines built into the faucet (cold valve on, hot off, handle in middle position then back and forth to hot and cold, draining into a bucket) resulted in blue flakes. Reassembled. Hot pressure now normal.

Hold this for me 06:38(ish), learned that lesson hard way. We had so much fun getting it back out🤣 Do like the style, functions/features, & look of the new faucets on market today; but.....when comes to repair/fix one, they don’t make it easy. With proprietary parts/fittings, electronics/batteries in them, etc....sometimes the best way to fix/repair a faucet, REPLACE it with a NEW ONE😉😂. Long time customer asked me to fix a kitchen faucet they loved & said sure. The mixer valve needed replaced, & the adjustable flow aerator needed replaced. Wasn’t easy, since aerator used a 3.5mm internal thread(why!?) & mixer valve was at base of spout/faucet that was suppose to unscrew with “special wrench” that came with faucet(& naturally customer didn’t have🤣)..... So, if parts are cheap & repair is “easy”, I say go for it; otherwise, just replace it with new one. As always Chuck, & AB/CB....watching your plumbing vids are always interesting, fun, & NEVER boring! Great job guys👍🏻 Have a good one✌🏻 TIP: most ppl may not know that you save the box to faucet. If it breaks/malfunctions/etc... call the company number on the box & talk to them, they usually will send you a brand new replacement(or similar if item was discontinued) free of charge. Might have to pay for shipping(might), but need the info from box(or sometimes manual).....& I’ve done this for customers with a faucet being 5.5 yrs old. Company helped out by sending new one even with warranty stating was for 1 year..... just a tip for ppl. Call the customer service number & talk to them.....they will try to help you & make things right as best they can.

Just installed new sink, lines and faucet install went well. Great pressure all the way until i start to get to the hot side. Full hot side is barely a trickle

Hi CB1 and AB I think I can help you. I think the problem is in where the wand hose connects under the sink to the valve. There is usually is some kind of quick connector that connects the two together. Sometimes in that fitting is a check valve that will have to be cleaned. I have ran into this problem more than once and with more than one brand. I hope this helps you Good luck!!

I have the same issue on our kitchen sink. Odd thing is that there are no shut-off valves under the sink. Faucet is under 1 year old. Took faucet off and looked it over, checked for dirt/debris in screens. Didn't find anything obvious. This video didn't help...but it was entertaining.

Had to remove the top part on mine today after putting new hot water tank, after removing, it flowed right thru

I found that the screen in my supply line was full or crud. Once I cleaned it up the water ran freely

I had slow hot water and thought I needed a faucet too. After checking every possible failure before that I found the problem. The gasket in the shutoff valve disintegrated and was blocking the flow. I replaced the guts of the valve with a new stem and gasket. Now I have full pressure hot water.

they needed a new moen cartridge (1255) installed / replaced. moen sends them for free. also, could’ve taken apart shower head to clean part. start by removing black sprayer button (pop off and slide). i’ve done the research and plan to repair mine in the morning

If this a Kohler take off the quick connect that attaches to the hose underneath. The check valve will be blocked likely. Check the cartridge.

All fixtures in the house run hot and cold fine now except the kitchen sink. It's having issues with the hot now. I'm going to try the back flush. I hope it isn't the supply valve, since I can handle hot on the faucet being down for a bit, but I need the hot water for the dishwasher. Here's hoping back flush solves the problem!

Using a pipe-cleaner fixed this faucet for me! Plus the hot/cold flushing in this video. Hope this helps others!

Hey CB , ANOTHER TECH TIP you need a small pocket dentist type mirror to see some of those handle screws, some of the manufactures went to a TORX head screw, I know moen did on some of their faucets.

We did a rebuild on some water damage. When we put the faucet back in, (which looks exactly like this one), it had the same very low pressure. The homeowner claimed it had been perfect before the demo (of course). I checked everything, and came to the same conclusion: The faucet is garbage. They were just angling for a new faucet.

The water heater is prolly old or needs a new anode rod. Its most likely gone and nothing catching all the mineral deposit build up so it passing thru and getting clogged in faucet cartrige or small internal piping within faucet. It happens to us all cb dont sweat it.

I have this same problem. Maybe I’ll just replace it see if that’ works. Tried everything else.

It would help me if you explained what you are doing as you go. I can’t remember things just by watching if i don’t understand just what’s being done.. so did you so something that made the dirt show up in the head when you didn’t see anything the first time you took it apart?

The shut-off was the problem... looks like a gate or boiler drain style valve. They tend to clog , especially on the hot side!

Looks like im going to have to replace my Moen also... water flows great once the head comes off but couldnt get head to work with good pressure anymore .. Couldnt see a clog in the back of spray head or front when i took the front cap off

2 words: Check Valve. Shut off hot side. Detach hot side faucet line, put a bucket under it and turn water back on. You'll see a bunch of crap come out of the water and collect in the bucket. Clean out check valve. Attach faucet line back up. Problem solved. If you don't flush the line, you might have to keep cleaning out check valve until all the crud in the line gets flushed out. DO NOT remove the check valve filter. This gizmo filters out debris that would otherwise clog up the inner faucet that is alot harder to fix.

Good day evening sir, I’m a health caregiver but I can fix simple broken things in our house. What I cannot fix, is our main bedroom shower, hot and cold flow is really weak. Took out the water restrictor of that showerhead. The two other bathroom water flow is strong and no issue at all. I just change the moen cartridge 1222 and is still the flow is weak. Could not find any valve that I can increase that flow of that water shower. Thank you sir and appreciate any insight!

Blame the problem on the people who are paid per installation and do it quickly without flushing the lines before and after connecting the faucets.

when you get them like that, probably a piece of junk stuck in the supply tube or at valve body inside, some of them have flow restrictors at the supply line ends to keep people from tampering with the aerator for more "flow" :) unhook supply lines and back blow with compressor through pull out hose. full hot, then full cold. **if that one has restrictors, they're probably at the "ends" they used the double male adapters to add supply line lenght

Please define legitimate equipment. My moen is 3 weeks old and the hot water side is at a drip. Does sediment indicate the rusting of the water heater tank? I'm checking the anode tomorrow.

Blue dirt in the aerator is caused by the "dip tube" in the hot water tank deteriorating. Maybe.

If you have pressure with the cold , it’s not in the end piece…..

LMAO. I get that complaint all the time. Correct procedure: 1. Measure volume (gpm) in a 1 gallon pail. 2. Change/remove/drill - aerator filter at faucet end. 3. Re-measure. still no good? 4. Change stop valve(s). still no good? 5. Change faucet and supply line(s) All of that can be done in less than 30 minutes; IF you are prepared.

I've had many of those calls in my career Chuck....they can be very aggravating!

in the shower head there are several round screens and a plastic disk the disk has small holes in it that gets clogged

Would it be possible for a disgruntled plumber who lives next door to me to reroute hot water away from my apartment? This morning I was doing my dishes and suddenly the hot water pressure went down and I heard a pipe "clunk" cold water is running fine as well as hot and cold water in bathroom and shower. All other apartments hot water is running well

My Moen faucet has been like that since it was put in 9 months ago.

Why didn't you check the other facets in the house to see if the problem is throughout them all? If all of them have low pressure problems on the hot side it's probably a water heater issue..

It’s best to flush out the valve before u attach new faucet.
